About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

You will not find a cozier vacation home in all of South Lake Tahoe! This three-bedroom, two-bath retreat features an outdoor hot tub, comfortable furnishings, and room for the whole family! Surrounded by tall trees, this home is in quiet, well-located neighborhood, just minutes from the Tahoe Keys Marina, Thomas F Regan Memorial Beach, the Bijou Golf Course, and only six miles from Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Inside, the living room combines neutral color tones, rich wood accents, and pops of color from snuggly throws and plush pillows. While the snow falls down outside, you'll be toasty warm sitting in the cozy living room, with your hands wrapped around a mug of cocoa - or maybe a hot buttered rum. The flat screen dable TV also has a DVD player and even a DVD library. There's also WiFi, so you can check your email and even spend sometime pinning images from your amazing Lake Tahoe trip.

The dining room table seats four, but don't worry, there are extra spots right at the nearby breakfast bar. The kitchen is large, bright, and well-stocked, giving you room to create epic vacation meals like a big pot of pumpkin chicken chili or just heat up leftover from the previous night's dinner out in South Lake Tahoe.

Outside in the backyard, in addition to the hot tub, there's a gas grill for family cookouts, and plenty of room for kids to play. Since this home is dog friendly (for a small nightly fee), the fenced yard is also well-suited for your furry, four-legged companions to explore.

All on one level, this home's three bedrooms will make everyone feel right at home when it's time to turn in at night. There's a room with a queen bed, one with a full sized bed, and the third bedroom that has two twin beds for the kids. All three rooms feature comfortable bedding and nice furnishings. In addition, there's also a cozy Murphy bed, if needed. With its three bedrooms, this home will accommodate up to eight guests. Both full bathrooms have walk-in showers and there's even a washer and dryer for keeping everyone in clean clothes while on vacation.

From the house, it's only a three mile drive right to all the fun in downtown South Lake Tahoe. Those wanting to practice their swings can head to the Bijou Golf Course, which is only a 10 minute drive away. In addition to golfing, there are a number of public beaches on the shore of Lake Tahoe, offering a spot for scenic picnics, beachcombing, or just relaxing along the shore. There are also opportunities for fishing, water skiing, and even taking a picturesque cruise around the lake.

Right along scenic US Route 50, you'll find plenty of restaurants and shops to explore. When the weather's cold and snowy outside, you can order up heaping plates of Chicken Marsala and Beef Stroganoff at Baumann's Swiss Chalet or on a sunny day, you may opt for Nigiri and Maki at Samurai Sushi. No matter what time of year, it's easy to work up an appetite here - paddleboarding on the lake, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and parasailing to name just a few of the local activities!

Of course, in winter you'll want to make the short 15 minute drive to Heavenly Mountain Resort. Hit the slopes for world-class skiing and snowboarding, as well as tubing and back country, cross-country skiing. And in summer, you can take a breathtaking 2.4 mile gondola ride across the clear blue Tahoe sky. A year-round destination, South Lake Tahoe has something for everyone - golfers, skiers, hikers, foodies, even those who just want to sleep in and relax at this comfortable, cozy vacation home!

About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this homeour team is standing by!

Fun rental for family

  • 4 of 5

The Jacuzzi was perfect and the hammock in the backyard was popular with the kids. There was plenty of room for our family of 6.

Not good for a summer trip

  • 2 of 5

This house does not have screens on the windows, so it heats up in the summer and there is no way to cool it off because you can't open any windows for fear of letting in bears or other critters and bugs. The wood floors make beach days miserable, and you will spend hours daily sweeping up dirt and debris on the floor. The furniture takes up way more floor space than necessary and we bumped into each other and furniture more than if the home had small pieces of furniture. The kitchen has a lot of items in it, but none of it is in a reasonable location (Tupperware lids nowhere near Tupperware, for example). The back deck area is nice and the hot tub is as well, although it is hard to sit in it because none of the seats are flat--everything is like sitting on rolling hills. The hammock needs to be tightened and rehung. It sits so low, you won't actually be able to swing in it without your butt grazing the floor. There is also no table out in the back area, so that makes it hard to have dinner outside. Both bathrooms feel like they have water damage underneath you in the shower. You will feel like you might fall through the floor because it sinks in and feels spongy under your feet. For the cost, I wouldn't stay here again.

Owner's Response: We appreciate having the screens brought to our attention. We will work with the owner on getting those reinstalled, and housekeeping and maintenance will address the other items mentioned. Thanks!

Beautiful Quaint Home

  • 4 of 5

Very pleasant experience. It was a great price, when we booked months in advance. Beautiful house, could use small repairs and landscaping. Love that it's dog friendly, and definitely plan on returning.

Perfect for family of 4 plus a dog

  • 4 of 5

We throughout enjoyed our stay and was perfect for our family of 4 plus our family pet. The hot tub was great after a day on the slopes. House is well appointed and close to grocery and shops. We will be back. :)

Cabin is like Doctor Who's TARDIS appears to be bigger on the inside. Organized and stocked up with everything you need and the common sense dictates. Easy to use and the tub was absolutely perfect.

Great location, needs a few updates and definitely new cleaning team

  • 4 of 5

The location is perfect, and while the furniture in the house is a bit worn, it's perfectly comfortable. However, the cleaning team is sorely lacking. When we checked in, there was a load of towels still in the washing machine. We dried and folded them, even though we shouldn't have had to. And later that evening when we needed to move the large coffee table because something fell under it, we found three pills under the table. That could have been very dangerous for our dogs that were staying with us. Totally unacceptable, particularly considering the very high fees we paid for the property (rent was $99 a night. But a two night stay cost more than $500). For that kind of money, we should get a completely clean rental.
