Lake access, close to skiing, and hiking make this the perfect getaway for any season. This home has been completely renovated over the last year.
The living room is cozy and is an open area with the kitchen and dining room. Enjoy sitting by a fire in the wood burning stove in the living area.
The home has DirectTV and Wifi availability. During football season you can enjoy the NFL Sunday Ticket and watch any game you want.
Offering 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms this home can easily accommodate a party of 8. There is a large Master Bedroom with a King Bed on the second floor. Also on the second floor is another bedroom with a Queen and a full size bed. The second floor bathroom is a 3/4 bath with a shower stall.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One with a full size bed and the other has a Trundle bed that turns into 2 twin size beds. There is also a full bathroom on the first floor with a bathtub.
This home offers Lake Sunapee access with a large dock area. You can swim, fish, suntan, relax and read a book, or watch the boats go by from this great vantage point. There is a launching dock for small watercraft like kayaks and row boats. We enjoy kayaking from this area whenever possible. There are steps into the water making swimming access easy so there is no need to climb rocks to get into the water here.
Mount Sunapee is 4 miles away and the Mountain always has events going on at the base lodge. You can check the calendar of events on their website to see if there is a concert, 5k mudrucker race, lobster bakes, or craftsmen fair going on during your planned stay. In the winter the Mountain offers fantastic skiing with terrain parks, challenging slopes, the new acro bag, and even winter ziplining. In the summer there is also a range of activities available at the Mountain. They offer Ziplining, off road Segway Tours, Frisbee golf, miniature golf, and more.
The views from the dock on Lake Sunapee are amazing and you could walk down and enjoy them anytime. It was an amazing night when we alked down with flashlights and watched all the shooting stars crossing the night sky. With little surrounding light the night sky can be fascinating and the kids absolutely loved seeing it.
The Fells historic home and gardens are very close by and in the summer they are a must see. The home brings you back to earlier times and the gardens are beautiful and have trails for you to hike down to the shores of Lake Sunapee.
If you are a more avid hiker there are trails all around this home that range from easy walks to more challenging climbs. The moderate hike up to sunset hill is enjoyable and can be attempted by anyone. One of the more challenging hikes is the Summit Trail that takes you from the parking lot of the ski mountain to its peak and if you want to extend that hike it connects to a trail that continues on to Kearsarge Mountain.
This home is owned by two couples looking for a place to create memories with their children.
Rick Janotha purchased this house in 2012
This property offered the unique opportunity to own a vacation home that could be used in any season of the year. With Lake Sunapee access and Mount Sunapee close by there is always fun things to do.
The quiet and peace that you find just being at this home and at the same time having many activities to enjoy so close to the home is just amazing.
We had a great stay a the Highland House over NYE weekend! The house is clean and spacious with plenty of bedrooms and extremely convenient to Mt. Sunapee. After a day of skiing it was nice to relax by the fire place with plenty of room to stretch out on the big comfy couch. I can imagine the house is even more convenient to summer activities in the warmer months. (You can see the lake from the living room!). We had a few issues to report to Rick, but he was very quick in responding to our issues in a reasonable manner. I recommend staying here for winter or summer!
We had a fantastic time here over the weekend! Easily slept 10, but could have probably slept 12 without too much trouble. The house was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the cooking devices we could have asked for, and the house on the whole was just very relaxing to be in. Top it off with incredibly easy access to Lake Sunapee, and it all added up to an A+ weekend. Would totally come back for another stay!
The property was close to but not at the lake shore access. I wish we had access to or could rent a boat (canoe, kayak) for the week. There was an issue with the refrigerator but the owner saw to the repairs in a timely manner while we were out. The house was centrally located for Lake Sunapee activities, and there were many things to do there.
This was a great house. We had just one issue and Rick was very responsive and had the problem repaired immediately. The house is great and we had plenty of room for 7 of us. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach but well worth it once you get to the very large dock and crystal clear water. The deck on the house was great for relaxing and reading or enjoying time with friends. During the one rainy day we had it was nice to have Direct TV with many movie channels. I would highly recommend this house as a NH vacation spot.
My group and I have been going on these trips for many years now, and this house was great! Places were easily accessible. The location is wonderful. While we were there, we had a few questions, and the owner cleared things right up for us. Also, the neighbors in the area are glad to point out some other directions, such as how to get to the lake, or convenience stores. Overall, great please to stay.
This is my first time ever booking a house to rent. Ricky, the owner, is really a nice guy who accomodates to your needs. (i probably called him 5+ times during our stay). It was a great location if you just want to get away from the city. While there are homes surrounding the house, it was VERY peaceful and quiet. We had TV, wi-fi and played board games. There were 10 of us and we slept comfortably. It was home away from the home!
This home enjoys lake access with a large dock area. Just minutes away from Mount Sunapee skiing. Hiking trails from easy to challenging are surrounding this home. The Fells historic home and gardens is less than a mile away. Come enjoy the nature and all it has to offer. Swim, boat, fish, hike, ski, ice skate, or just relax by the beautiful fire.
The home has WiFi available. The interior of the home has been completely renovated over the past year and is now available for your enjoyment.
