Overview

About the property

4 bedroom 2 bath with Lake Sunapee access and largest dock on the lake

Lake access, close to skiing, and hiking make this the perfect getaway for any season. This home has been completely renovated over the last year.

The living room is cozy and is an open area with the kitchen and dining room. Enjoy sitting by a fire in the wood burning stove in the living area.

The home has DirectTV and Wifi availability. During football season you can enjoy the NFL Sunday Ticket and watch any game you want.

Offering 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms this home can easily accommodate a party of 8. There is a large Master Bedroom with a King Bed on the second floor. Also on the second floor is another bedroom with a Queen and a full size bed. The second floor bathroom is a 3/4 bath with a shower stall.

On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One with a full size bed and the other has a Trundle bed that turns into 2 twin size beds. There is also a full bathroom on the first floor with a bathtub.

This home offers Lake Sunapee access with a large dock area. You can swim, fish, suntan, relax and read a book, or watch the boats go by from this great vantage point. There is a launching dock for small watercraft like kayaks and row boats. We enjoy kayaking from this area whenever possible. There are steps into the water making swimming access easy so there is no need to climb rocks to get into the water here.

Mount Sunapee is 4 miles away and the Mountain always has events going on at the base lodge. You can check the calendar of events on their website to see if there is a concert, 5k mudrucker race, lobster bakes, or craftsmen fair going on during your planned stay. In the winter the Mountain offers fantastic skiing with terrain parks, challenging slopes, the new acro bag, and even winter ziplining. In the summer there is also a range of activities available at the Mountain. They offer Ziplining, off road Segway Tours, Frisbee golf, miniature golf, and more.

The views from the dock on Lake Sunapee are amazing and you could walk down and enjoy them anytime. It was an amazing night when we alked down with flashlights and watched all the shooting stars crossing the night sky. With little surrounding light the night sky can be fascinating and the kids absolutely loved seeing it.

The Fells historic home and gardens are very close by and in the summer they are a must see. The home brings you back to earlier times and the gardens are beautiful and have trails for you to hike down to the shores of Lake Sunapee.

If you are a more avid hiker there are trails all around this home that range from easy walks to more challenging climbs. The moderate hike up to sunset hill is enjoyable and can be attempted by anyone. One of the more challenging hikes is the Summit Trail that takes you from the parking lot of the ski mountain to its peak and if you want to extend that hike it connects to a trail that continues on to Kearsarge Mountain.

Great stay in the Sunapee area!

  • 5 of 5

Great location to lake and Mount Sunapee ski resort!

Really cute house set back in the woods. We easily fit four couples.

Kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, etc, anything you needed to cook.

Comfortably fit our crew of 8 around both the kitchen table for meals and the living room table for games.

King suite is gorgeous, spacious, with a nice view.

Definitely would suggest staying here if you are planning to be in the area! Rick is wonderful and incredibly responsive.

My friends and I are considering a return this year!

Great ski weekend with family

  • 5 of 5

Sunapee Lake House is perfect for large family getaway ski weekend. More than usual kitchen utensils, plenty of normal stock items (hand soap, paper products...). Ricky response time is almost instantaneous. Close to lake and ski area. Thank you Ricky, from all the Browns

Comfy House with nice fire place

  • 3 of 5

Overall we had a great stay. The house was as advertised - plenty of space for us, nicely heated upon arrival and a great fireplace with wood ready to go. Kitchen was well equipped.

We had 12" of snow the day before arrival. The drive had been nicely plowed, but the walk to the door (up 20 steps) had not been shoveled. It was a bit of a pain navigating up to the door and clearing space to get it open. Rick, the owner, was very responsive in letting me know where the shovel was so I could dig out. There was also minor annoyance of the internet needing a phone call to get restored, and a small leak from the upstairs bathroom.

Rick was very responsive so we were able to get everything sorted for a nice stay. I realize running a rental property is not easy - but these issues were annoying upon arrival of a weekend vacation stay.

We overcame with Rick's help and had a nice stay.

NYE/Ski Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay a the Highland House over NYE weekend! The house is clean and spacious with plenty of bedrooms and extremely convenient to Mt. Sunapee. After a day of skiing it was nice to relax by the fire place with plenty of room to stretch out on the big comfy couch. I can imagine the house is even more convenient to summer activities in the warmer months. (You can see the lake from the living room!). We had a few issues to report to Rick, but he was very quick in responding to our issues in a reasonable manner. I recommend staying here for winter or summer!

Excellent house by the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time here over the weekend! Easily slept 10, but could have probably slept 12 without too much trouble. The house was clean, the kitchen was fully stocked with all of the cooking devices we could have asked for, and the house on the whole was just very relaxing to be in. Top it off with incredibly easy access to Lake Sunapee, and it all added up to an A+ weekend. Would totally come back for another stay!

The house was as expected, and we have no complaints whatsoever.

  • 5 of 5

The property was close to but not at the lake shore access. I wish we had access to or could rent a boat (canoe, kayak) for the week. There was an issue with the refrigerator but the owner saw to the repairs in a timely manner while we were out. The house was centrally located for Lake Sunapee activities, and there were many things to do there.
