About Marilyn McEwen & Lance Blackwell

We moved here to Ucluelet from Vancouver in 1997, and added the one-bedroom suite in 2007.

Marilyn McEwen & Lance Blackwell purchased this house in 1997

Why Marilyn McEwen & Lance Blackwell chose Ucluelet

We loved the idea of a waterfront property, having lived on a floathome in Vancouver for 11 years prior to moving here. The half acre property allows us to maintain privacy for ourselves & our guests. The West Coast of Vancouver Island has a rugged beauty that is unmatched anywhere else in B.C.

What makes this house unique

There is always something to watch on the waterfront -- fishboats coming & going, sea lions frolicking, bald eagles fishing, kayakers meandering by.

Quiet waterfront retreat.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. Marilyn and Lance were very helpful getting us settled in, recommending hikes in the area. The suite was so comfortable and after hiking it was so special to have our own hot tub to sit in with a view of the water. Magical.

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Very nice setting. Lovely view of the water from the bedroom and living room windows . Suite is tastefully decorated , has a cozy fireplace, and well equipped kitchen. Short walk to a lovely spot where we could view the waves on the rocks. All-in-all, a wonderful place to stay that we would return to in the future.

Very beautiful, pristine and serene surroundings

  • 5 of 5

Our suite was lovely. Very much enjoyed the quiet and private setting - complete with hot tub outside our door. Our host Marilyn was very accommodating and had many helpful suggestions of places for us to visit. Loved having the fridge stocked with breakfast supplies. Nice to have the option to prepare a meal ourselves. Nothing was overlooked except ... the beautiful view of the bay and mountains :) Would recommend to anyone who enjoys the ocean, mountains and rainforests.
