Why Debbi & Joe Badolato chose Rainbow Lake
Five Pines is a wonderful haven on Rainbow Lake which is part of the Saranac Lake Chain Region. This beautiful, pristine lake offers 25 miles of shoreline as it connects to Clear Pond & Lake Kushaqua. Abundant Wildlife include Loon, Eagles, Osprey, Northern Pike, Deer, Moose & More!
What makes this House unique
We are fortunate to be located on serene Rainbow Lake. Our home is at the end of a private camp road on quiet Boot Bay. We have the perfect location with calm waters needed for paddle-boarding, kayaking, and canoeing. Our waterfront dock is the best place to watch the wildlife on the lake, or the kids take a dip in our sandy little beach next to the dock.

Beautiful home and very comfortable stay!
We were here for four days in December while it was below zero out the entire time. We were toasty, warm, and comfortable while inside the entire time. We did a bunch of snowshoeing, but also drove into Lake Placid for one evening, and hung out and played board games by the fire or watched movies. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking great meals. The only thing that could have possibly made it better would have been a dishwasher, but for six people we were fine. Newly re-done downstairs bedrooms are beautiful. We had six in our party and really enjoyed the whole stay.
Thank you so much for your kind words, and for choosing Five Pines for your Holiday vacation! Winter on Rainbow Lake is truly a magical time, and we are happy to have shared that experience with you and your family.
Happy New Year!
Joe and Debbi
The property was even better than we had hoped for. The house was well kept and the area was quiet.
The entire week was great. We lucked out with great weather all week. Just a few rain storms but we were able to sit on the covered rear porch and watch the storms come and go quickly. The kayaks and canoes were great. The fishing and hiking was awesome. All 7 of us had a really great time. And so close to Donnelly's ice cream to boot.
Thank you for your kind words, and for choosing Five Pines! We are so pleased you enjoyed the kayaks and canoes - Rainbow Lake is a wonderful, quiet lake to explore by boat. We also love to sit in the covered porch and watch the summer storms roll through. That porch is everyone's favorite place for sure! Please come back and stay with us again soon. Warmest regards, Joe and Debbi
"Five Pines" a lakefront Adirondack Home on Rainbow Lake: A great place for a family vacation.
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week stay at Five Pines a lakefront Adirondack home July 8- 15, 2017. There were six adults and three grandchildren and all had a good time using the different boats as canoes, kayaks, and standup board to explore the beautiful lake area. Wild ducks, and the loons were seen and heard. The grandchildren enjoyed swimming, boating, and hiking as well as did most of the adults. Two of the grandchildren caught many fish from the lake. My favorite place was the large screen-in porch with the beautiful lake view and large dining table for some good family meals. The cabin house was very nice, well equipped and quite comfortable. The owners Debbi and Joe were so helpful and called several times to check on our stay and provided any needed information. I would highly recommend “Five Pines”, if you enjoy nature and like all the wonderful activities that Rainbow Lake can provide.
Thank you so very much for your kind words. We are thrilled you all had such a wonderful time at Five Pines! Please come back again soon - we'd love to have your sweet family stay with us again. Best regards, Debbi and Joe
Our family cannot say enough positive things about our stay at Five Pines! There were 2 adults and 4 teenagers and there was plenty of room to spare. The house is beautifully decorated in Adirondack style but is very comfortable. The screened porch got a lot of use. Can't beat the view!
Debbi and Joe are super friendly, proud and responsive owners. They gave us so many wonderful tips prior to our stay. Donnely's Ice Cream is fabulous! We had a couple of questions during our stay and they responded in minutes.
Rainbow Lake itself is lovely, peaceful and plenty big enough to explore! The kayaks and paddle board were put to good use. Loved hearing and seeing the loons. The fishing was great and the sunsets were amazing.
Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your gorgeous home!
Thank you Jen and Jeff and family! We truly love hearing about our guest's adventures. We are thrilled the loons have been almost daily visitors to our dock! This year has been special as they have a baby with them!!
Thank you for your kind comments and lovely review. Your careful and courteous care of our home is very much appreciated. It would be our pleasure to have you all stay again at Five PInes. Please remember us when you plan to return to beautiful Rainbow Lake and the High Peaks!! Warm regards, Deb and Joe
Fantastic cabin on Rainbow Lake
Five Pines on Rainbow Lake more than lived up to our expectations. A lovely cabin located on a super and uncrowded lake: A few other cabins close by, but it never felt busy (July 16-23, 2016). The cabin is spacious for the eight people we were ; 4 adults, 4 teenagers. The basement has obviously been recently redone and is lovely and cool for those who don't like the heat.
From our point of view, the best thing about the cabin is very large, screened porch (though in fact we had very few mosquitos). The porch runs the whole length of the lake-side of the house and is really an extension of the living room. Great for eating and just hanging out. We also really appreciated the generous supply of canoes/kayaks, which we used a lot, and the place to store bikes.
The surrounding area is stunning ; we very much liked Saranac Lake for its authentic feel, and the walks around Whiteface mountain and up to Ampersand. Thanks to Joe and Debbi for renting us the cabin ; we'd love to come back some day (we live in France so not that close by).
Thanks very much Robert and family! We are delighted to hear you and your family enjoyed Five Pines and Rainbow Lake. The Adirondacks are a magical place indeed, and the memories made here will last a lifetime! Thank you too for your considerate and meticulous care of our home. When you come back to visit the High Peaks, please come stay at Five Pines - we'd love to have you all again. Warmest regards, Joe and Debbi
I spent countless hours looking for a nice (in all honesty I was looking for perfect) cabin for a family NYE weekend in upstate NY and we are so thankful I found this house. The owners couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with and full of information on things to do or where to go. The house is super clean, well furnished, well stocked, and just has a nice energy about it. The beds, pillows and furniture are comfortable and the bedding and towels are a good quality. The downstairs renovation is really nice and the upstairs has the warmth of the fireplace and the beautiful views of a cabin in the woods on a lake. The bedrooms are smartly laid out for accommodating a group with kids or even couples with singles. We really couldn't have been happier with this house and will be back for sure...it is a lovely winter retreat but we are also interested in seeing it during the summer or fall months! Thank you...we had an amazing time here!
Thank you for your kind words! We are so very pleased to hear your family loved your stay at Five Pines!! It is a family haven where many cherished memories have been made, and we love reading about our guests enjoying it as much as we do. Please bring the family back and stay during the summer ... I promise you will love it! Happy New Year, Debbi and Joe
