About the property

1 Bedroom+Loft, 1 Bathroom, kitchen, Sleeps 10

The mission of the Yule Creek Lodge is to provide friends and families a place to gather to enjoy the abundant pleasures of life in the mountains.

Located on 53 acres, mostly bordering National Forest, the lodge has a welcoming feel with the comforts of home. In the winter, the cabin gives easy access to some of the sweetest backcountry and nordic skiing in Colorado, along with with big views and privacy. Skin up to Marble Peak or No Name Peak or head to the quiet nordic trails found in and above the Crystal Valley. Plenty of sledding, snow shoeing and adventure opportunities are found all over the property for hours of fun for everyone.

In the winter the cabin is set up like a mountain hut. That means you bring your own sleeping bag to put on top of flannel covered beds. Pillows are provided. *No cleaning or linen fee is charged in the winter.

In the summer months there will be linens provided with an additional fee.

In the summer the opportunities are endless. The Raspberry Ridge trailhead is just steps away from the front door. Without getting in the car you can access pristine trout fishing as well as explore the town of Marble on foot. The Yule Creek Lodge is the perfect base camp to explore the Yule Lakes, Lead King Basin, Anthracite Pass, and many other high alpine adventures.

This off the grid home includes running water, a shower, indoor bathroom, refrigerator, gas cooking stove and fireplace.

The kitchen carries enough pots/pans, cutlery, plates, bowls etc. to cook and serve 10 people.

Be sure to get your provisions before you head to the Lodge as the town of Marble is not reliable for food and drink.

Sleeps: 10

Master Bedroom: queen sized bed and a Pack-n-Play in the closet.

Upstairs open sleeping plan with a view: 1 queen bed, 1 queen sized futon bed, 2 sets of Bunk Beds

1 Dog Bowl

We love our animals too! We ask that you respect the no pets on the beds request.

We have added wi-fi access with fairly high speed.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We were two families with 4 kids (ages 9, 7, 4 and 8 months) in this cabin. There was plenty of room for all of us and the accommodations were very comfortable. The kids loved the bunk beds and the views from the loft and main living area were absolutely beautiful. The kids loved playing in the cabin and we enjoyed reading them bedtime stories from the small collection in the cabin. There are playing cards and a few games as well. We loved sitting on the deck and taking in the surrounding beauty. We also enjoyed exploring the trails around the cabin and my husband and brother in law spent a lot of time fishing. We walked into the town of Marble and had a great lunch at Slow Groovin BBG.Overall it was a great weekend and such a nice time to connect with family, relax and enjoy the tranquility of the area. I highly recommend this cabin and hope to visit again!

My husband and I spent three nights at the Yule Creek Lodge, and had a fantastic time! The setting is perfect and the lodge and deck have magnificent views. We were there at the perfect time to catch the leaf change of the Aspen trees. There are many hikes nearby, so it was fun to hike in the morning and settle in with a beer on the deck in the afternoon and soak up the views.

Although the cabin is "off the grid," it has all the comforts of home, including a nice gas fireplace/stove, a fully stocked and supplied kitchen (minus the food, of course), a full bath with shower, and comfortable beds. We slept upstairs and watched the stars through the huge windows. Highly recommend Slow Groovin' BBQ about a mile away from the cabin, but bring your own groceries from Glenwood Springs, as Marble is pretty remote!

The owners were very communicative and helpful as I packed for our trip. We will definitely be back!

A lovely piece of paradise

  • 5 of 5

The home and location were amazing. Very spacious for two and our two pups, but a large family would have had plenty of places to spread out. The property is gorgeous, the woods thick and private, yet only .5 miles from Marble, which was so quaint and friendly. We hiked right from the driveway, jeeped the surrounding mountains, and watched the stars from the large deck. It was idyllic. We will definitely return.

We had a lovely time staying at this cabin during the summer. The owners are very responsive and helpful. The cabin had everything we needed and was very cozy. The location is perfect with incredible views and privacy. It allowed for a truly relaxing week and we hope to be back soon!

Pretty Log Cabin on Mountainside in Marble, Colorado

  • 5 of 5

This log cabin is nestled among the aspen trees above Marble, Colorado. When you arrive the house is at the end of the driveway and is not the "Yule Creek Lodge" which shares the driveway but appears to be the owner's garage for the property. You'll be off the grid with electricity from a propane generator and a two-way satellite Internet connection but the isolation is a great way to get away from it all. We only had two nights to spend here but we enjoyed the house and the region of Colorado. Your first impression will be THIS HOUSE IS AMAZING! When you leave you'll regret having to leave this peaceful house in this beautiful place.

The town of Marble is a great little town with a coffee shop, restaurant and two local artists who sell their work of marble stone. We didn't have time to enjoy the 4WD Excursion or rent an ATV to go further into the mountains but we did a bit of hiking around the house.

You'll be able to see the stars on a clear night so be sure to stay up late or get up early to enjoy them.

There's a small propane powered refrigerator with a small freezer and gas stove in the kitchen. The stackable washer and dryer is helpful although you need to monitor the washing machine because the well water fills slowly and can take 10 minutes of the 12 minute cycle to fill the full washing machine but it's great to be able to clean your clothes and not pack them out.

One minor reminder: You have to pack your trash out and there wasn't any guidance on where to dispose of the trash so think ahead about having to haul it out to a major town where you can find an empty trash can or dumpster.

Beautiful spot and very comfortable cabin

  • 4 of 5

The location can't be beat, and the sledding is great! There was a problem with the electricity, but the owners were very gracious about it and refunded some of our money due to the problem. So definitely bring headlamps or flashlights, but it's worth it!

Yule Creek Lodge lies just outside the historic town of Marble, Colorado. Made famous by the high quality marble suppositories underneath Treasure Mountain, Marble flourished in the late 19th century. Marble from this mine has been used throughout the United States of America in many of our national monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

While the marble mined in the quarry put Marble, Colorado on the map the true treasure available for all is the wonder of the Elk Mountain's high peaks.
