The house was fantastic, from the parking to the cleanliness of the rooms. The check in process was easy, and flexible. The location is tough to beat, as everything is no more than a 20 minute walk. Would recommend this home to anyone and would stay here again!

About the host
Hosted by Ken
We're Susan and Ken, and we've called Portland home since 2020, when we built this house with one intention in mind — to create a place where people could gather, relax, and feel truly at home.
Originally planned as our retirement retreat, the pandemic brought us here full-time sooner than expected, and we've never looked back. We've both since retired into work we love.
Ken is a Coast Guard Captain who runs operations for Freedom Boat Club, so he knows these waters better than almost anyone. Susan is a writer, speaker, and advisor with her first book coming out this spring.
Why they chose this property
We chose this location because it is a walkable, vibrant neighborhood with great food, water access, and real character. The Old Port, the working waterfront, and some of New England's best restaurants are steps away, yet it still feels like a neighborhood.
What makes this property unique
In a city where most vacation rentals are condos or apartments, this is a rare opportunity to enjoy a fully detached single-family home right in the heart of Portland. Spacious enough for groups up to 11. it's designed for people who want to truly settle in — cook, gather, and live comfortably — rather than just pass through.
And if you've ever tried to park in Portland, you'll appreciate the underground garage more than you can imagine.
