Boasting wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows, rustic wood finishes, a wood-burning fireplace, and an open layout perfect for entertaining, the whole family will love coming back to this wooded gem year after year. Days can easily be spent hiking or shredding fresh powder, yet there will be no lack of fun to be had while chilling out at home base with free WiFi and an entertainment room downstairs complete with plush sofa, and flatscreen TV. Not to mention, curbing appetites will be a breeze with the full kitchen and accommodating dining table to gather at with loved ones as the sun goes down.

Soda Springs is a perfect place to get away from it all, yet is within a quick 14-mile drive to Truckee when you need to grab a bite to eat, pick up a few groceries, or check out local shops. When it comes to outdoorsy fun, this area is home to year-round activities including skiing at Soda Springs Mountain Resort (one mile), Sugar Bowl Resort (four miles), and Boreal Mountain California (five miles). Hiking trails also abound mere minutes from home base, so be sure to bring along your boots!

Excellent location for skiing at Royal Gorge—just a few blocks away. Very enjoyable wood stove—a significant upgrade from the one pictured (as of March, 2026). A good supply of firewood. Kitchen was functional, fitted with the basics. Gorgeous living room windows, a real pleasure to spend time in this room on a cold wintry day/night. Lots of room on three levels for people to spred out.

Love the home it has everything you need from seasonings ziplock bags grill snow gear. Our first time in the snow it was an unexpected trip and by far the best one. Nice friendly small town. If your looking for a relaxing getaway in the snow this house is perfect.

This is our 2nd stay here. This cabin is perfect for a small or large family; 3 stories of bed spaces. We stayed in the summer this time & kept the windows open for a cross-breeze, so the house stayed cool. The beds are comfortable. The area is quiet. The balcony is lovely to relax on. We loved having the Ninja blender for our margaritas! There is even a bluetooth speaker we used with my cell to play music! It would have been nice to have a barbeque available.

The house had definitely had pets in it, it is very dark except in the loft. The pool table and ping pong were missing pieces and were in disrepair. Lots of beds in the loft and one more bedroom on each floor. Tv was on the bottom floor. Fairly clean.

Perfect for small or large family!

Stayed at end of snow season for a couple of ski days. Great for our small family of 3 to have their own spaces; 2 spacious living areas (main level & basement.) Fun pool table in basement; needs more pool cues (sticks). TV worked with our Chromecast. Central heat works well; did not try wood stove (no wood in rack). Kitchen appliances worked well, and fully stocked. Table has leaf to expand. Beds comfy (foam toppers on mattresses.) Front entrance not plowed; enter through basement driveway.

Overall no huge issues. Home worked just fine for our family weekend. Close access to the snow park where the kids had a fun filled day. Questions were answered promptly by property owner/manager. Kitchen is EXTREMELY well-stocked with appliances, cookware and spices. There is no TV ion the main living level; worked out fine for us but may not for others. Pool table was covered with a ping pong table. The net didn’t quite fit and there were no ping pong balls. Would’ve been nice to be able to use pool table and/or ping pong table but it wasn’t a game changer. We would certainly rent this property again.
