• Inspired by tea house tradition inside and out

• Alcoves, shoji screens, and a tokonoma hold living, dining, kitchen, and sleeping in one room

• Centered on a traditional tatami mat floor

• The tiny building appears lifted into place among the redwood trees

• Designed by local architect Fiona E. O'Neill, whose one-woman firm has designed homes at The Sea Ranch since 1991

• This home is designed for a specific experience, and we want you to love it. Please read before booking:

• Small and sparse by design. This is a single-room studio of about 384 sq ft with minimal furnishings.

• Make your own bed. Clean linens are provided and left folded. Guests make up the bed on arrival.

• Simple, not luxurious. You get quiet, forest light, and thoughtful design.

• Ideal for: solo retreats, couples, design and architecture lovers, and anyone looking to unplug.

• Not ideal for: families, guests who need lots of space or storage.

• Parking is available for up to 2 vehicles on the premises. Sea Ranch does not allow street parking overnight.

• This home is not pet friendly. If there is found evidence of an animal's presence during your stay or post check-out, guests will be charged an additional cleaning fee.

• Check in is at 4:00 PM and checkout is at 10:00 AM.
