Stay in Funchal

The house was beautiful with an impressive view. My kids enjoyed the gardens and looking down on the city lights at night. The home was well equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay.

Wonderful stay in Funchal!

Cannot say more good things about this property or the owners. They were very accommodating and were able to assist us getting in the property when our flight was delayed until late in the evening. The house is immaculate and absolutely beautiful. A wonderful view of Funchal with excellent amenities and stunningly beautiful woodwork throughout.

We highly recommend!

There were five of us and we were very comfortable. The host was available when we needed him. The house is beautiful, clean, well supplied, and close to town. We were not brave enough to rent a car, (and we don’t regret it) so taking the bus was convenient in addition to hiring a car occasionally. We only wish we had stayed longer.

Beautiful home sitting on a hill with a great view overlooking some of Funchal and the ocean. There was enough room for everyone (four adults) and the home is well furnished - furniture, dishes, pots and pans, cutlery, etc.The host is very responsive to any communication, both prior to rental and during rental. I had a lot of questions prior to rental and the host provided enough information in a very timely manner to enable us to make a proper decision. Thank you, Martin.I would highly recommend this property to anyone thinking about renting it.

One of my favorite stays!

Quinta Martin was the PERFECT spot to relax after a long day of activities on Madeira! It was spacious and spotless clean. The view was incredible and it was so nice to have a hot tub. The washing machine was very nice to have as well. Beds were very comfortable. The parking spot was a bit tricky, but no problem if you have someone to help! The communication with owner was always timely, friendly, and helpful. This place is a GEM!! Thank you!!!

Amazing House!

This was the best holiday home we have ever stayed in: spacious, well equipped, extremely comfortable and perfect location. We could enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Madeiran life there but easily get into and back from Funchal by bus in the evenings to visit its wonderful restaurants. Martin was extremely accommodating and helpful with any queries we had. We were very sad to leave this beautiful house with its stunning views and are really missing sitting on the terrace overlooking such a lovely city.

Beautify VRBO property

This is hands down the best VRBO experience we have ever had. The house is beautiful, tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, and has a well stocked kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed making meals at home and eating them outside while taking in the breathtaking view. It was just my wife and our 3 year old daughter, but the house could easily be a good place for two families. The only negative is getting in and out of the tight car space. However, realistically this helps you get prepared for driving around the rest of the island where one encounters tight parking spaces and narrow winding roads. I highly recommend staying here for your vacation on this fabulous island.

Lovely house. Fantastic view

Great property. Only two of us on this trip, the house has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8. But we like our space. Property is impressive. With lots of polished wooden floors and staircase. View is fantastic looking down onto Funchal and the ocean beyond. Access into the gates with a car is tight especially when driving out. Also some roads are steep and narrow. So I’d recommend a smallish hire car. We hadn’t! Managed ok by doing a 7 point turn to reverse in. Then was easy exiting next day. All in all great 10 days in Madeira.

Wonderful Villa with stunning view

We spent Christmas and New Year‘s in Martins home and couldn’t have been happier. The house is located on a hill of Funchal and offers stunning views on the city and the see (perfect for fireworks at New Year’s Eve) the surroundings are calm and it takes you approx 15 mins to the city center by car / bus. The house is spacious, perfectly equipped and beautifully furnished, in a classical, tasteful style, bedrooms are beautiful with very comfy beds. There is a terrace with Bbq and jacuzzi and a fireplace inside which make the place a perfect spot to stay for Christmas with family. Everything was perfectly clean and the hosts were very responsive and friendly when we had questions - they even decorated the house for Christmas for us und left us a little something under the tree.. Thank you Martin, we enjoyed our stay and can fully recommend your beautiful Quinta!

An amazing stay

We stayed for a week at the Quinta Martin as part of a two and a half week stay in Madeira (so that we had time to compare…). In a nutshell: our stay at Quinta Martin was fantastic. The house first of all: we were the four of us (two adults, two kids) though it could easily accommodate two families. It is quite spacious, fully refurbished and decorated with taste - so that we felt in a slightly out of time oasis of peacefulness. The garden is overlooking Funchal’s bay and the ocean, and nicely ornamented by tropical flowers. The jacuzzi provides a very relaxing touch after a day of excursion, which the kids (and us) really enjoyed. The house is fully equipped (special kudos to the coffee machine :). In terms of location, the Quinta is located in the outskirts of Funchal, slightly above Santo Antonio, so that you can enjoy fresh air and breathtaking views. It is easily accessible by bus (40 meters away), taxi and offers a garage for the car (which we rented during the second part of the week). A small shop virtually next door provides the essentials and there is a supermarket (Pingo doce) in S. Antonio. There are two small cafes nearby which we did not try. Not much in terms of restaurants (but who needs to go outside with such a house ?). In short, a very convenient location to explore the island, also close to Funchal and its amenities. Last but not least, warm thanks to the Horvel family for their kindness and readiness to help throughout our stay.

Villa mit Blick

Eine wunderschöne, traditionelle portugiesische Villa. Sehr gepflegt, mit traumhaften kleinen Garten und liebevollen Details in der Einrichtung. Der Blick auf Funchal ist sagenhaft schön. Die Villa hat alles, was man für einen entspannten schönen Urlaub benötigt. Sie ist etwas abseits gelegen, dafür hat man einen traumhaften Blick. Taxi-oder Uberbestellung ging sehr schnell und unkompliziert. Der Gastgeber war für uns jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit bei Fragen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden diese schöne Villa immer weiter empfehlen.
