The kitchen is exceptional! The floorplan is fantastic - very spacious. Being so close to the river, well ... what can I say ... it was wonderful.

Comfortable, clean, convenient
A clean, comfortable, roomy, and convenient place to lodge, with everything we needed. We fished in the RG and at alpine lakes, plus enjoyed the theater and shops in Creede. Communication was clear and easy. We would return!
Beautiful views, very clean house with everything you might need. We look forward to coming back again and again.

Fantastic Retreat
The house is totally modern and up to date, On arrival we noted that it was probably the cleanest and well furnished rentals we have visited. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Vaca on the Rio
We had a great time at this cute home. Plenty of amenities and clean throughout. Good access to all the local attractions. Close to national forest trails, South Fork, Creede and surrounding areas. Loved being right across from the Rio Grande.
Alpine and Nordic skiing with a stop at Pagosa Springs for some swimming
Great stay, property was very clean and the kitchen is awesome! It was -5* when we arriving late in the evening so it took a while to warm the place up but it was comfortable once it warmed up.
This place is as well equipped as most homes you live in. Great appliances and very well Equipped with anything you’ll need!! Would definitely stay here again!!

Rio Grande Retreat
My husband and I had a fabulous stay at the Rio Grande Retreat. The home is nicely furnished and clean. It has everything that we needed for our five day stay. The Rio Grande River is just steps away which was perfect for fishing and kayaking. There are many public reservoirs close by that we enjoyed for hiking and more fishing. We will certainly be back!

Fantastic Stay!
We had a fantastic stay! This is a very nice cabin with an amazing kitchen! The entire place was very cozy and comfortable for our family. Everything is very well stocked and there is even a little extra here and there. The kitchen is fabulous! The owners have stocked it with everything you would need for cooking a big meal or just something small after a day on the slopes. The location is convenient and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!
Great little house directly across from the river. Very quiet and the home is wonderfully appointed with a killer kitchen, stove, refrigerator and living room. Our only complaint is the beds are just doubles, not queens, so if you’re used to something bigger you gonna fit pretty tight.

Another great week!
This cozy home on the Rio is my favorite place to stay in South Fork. So close to Wolf Creek and the chef’s kitchen with the huge Wolf oven and vent hood allowed us to grill indoors! There’s a grill outside ready but nobody was willing to grill outside in the cold! Spotless inside upon arrival. There’s even a MagSafe charger on the nightstand for your iPhone and Apple Watch and AirPods. The home was warm and toasty despite the subzero temperatures outside. I won’t stay anywhere else.

Beautifully renovated home on the Rio Grande!
Though from the exterior this property seems a modest cottage, inside it is a fully renovated home. The kitchen island is huge and the appliances exceptionally high end (Subzero, Wolf, Bosch, Cuisinart, etc.). The twin bedrooms and bathrooms, though modest and not attached, are well suited for two couples. Most of the area of the home is dedicated to living space, which is quite ample. The kitchen, dining island, and living room are integrated in a very large, pentagonally-shaped space that works well.

As you know, this home is new to vrbo and yes, it does not look like much from the outside, but the inside is certainly a fabulous surprise! We are so glad you enjoyed it and we hope you will be back!

Fishing buddy and I stayed for eight nights. Centrally located for our needs; South Fork had everything we needed; grocery, hardware store, restaurants (Ramon’s is excellent,) professional fly shop with knowledgeable staff. Cabin had everything we needed, though spare in an area or two. We were only furnished one key. Adequate, as we were always together, but it would have made the logistics of daily unlock/load/unload a little simpler. Appliances in kitchen - top notch. Dinnerware, pots/pans - top notch. Cooking utensils; not so much, but adequate. Condiments on the spare side, but grocery just down the road. Separate bedrooms, bathrooms a nice touch. Beds were comfortable. Our stay was immediately preceded by the record snowfall, and the weather during the first few days was rather cool. Cabin has two, large portable fans, and, more importantly for us, two nice portable heaters - one for each bedroom. The living room stationary heater became adequate after the first couple of nights as; 1) the cabin itself warmed up; and, 2) the weather warmed up. After the weather warmed up to the lower 70s, the dual ceiling fans were appreciated after a long day on the water. Casual seating was VERY comfortable; the chairs and sofa were not broken down, as they are in many rentals. Nice TV, though just a decoration for us, for the most part. Great communication and response time with/from owner. Neighbors along the road very friendly. Always felt our belongings were safe in the house as we fished long hours. For those coming to fly fish, an added benefit is that there is actually enough SPACE in the living room to safely work on your fly rod w/o danger of breaking it. That was a huge plus. (Remember, though - ceiling fans are the fly rod’s Achille’s heel.) Propane grill worked great, after a little coaxing from the built-in electronic ignition, and the two outdoor chairs were comfortable for extended ‘river watching.’ Overall, an excellent place to stay - comfortable and quiet, yet close to everything you want/need. Will certainly return, as the owner/cabin make for a great experience.

WOW! Where to start? :) Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have added items you suggested. As far as condiments, we throw away anything which one could get their fingers in (i.e., a pickle jar), but leave squeeze bottles, such as mustard. The house heats up too much (in my opinion) when the drapes are open on a sunny day, and no one has ever commented that the heat was not sufficient. I hope you were not uncomfortable, at any time. Good advice on the ceiling fans and fly rods. My husband is a fly fisherman, and I guarantee you, those rods cost more than any anniversary gift I've ever received! LOL. We certainly hope you will be back.
Thank you,

Still a Gem!
After my recent stay I am completely sold on this place! This is my second time at this house. I stayed here this winter for some Wolf Creek action and you can scroll back and read my positive reviews. I came up this time for fall colors and fishing and perfect temperatures. Wow. I walked out the door each morning (after sleeping in) and would fish in the Rio Grande just steps away. I’m not an experienced fisherman by no means but was quite successful! There’s a small fire pit next to the river now and it’s so lovely to sit out under the stars next to the river and a crackling fire.
We enjoyed a fun weekend of skiing, sledding, ice skating and family fun. The facility was clean, comfortable and quiet. We look forward to returning again.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay while skiing at Wolf Creek. The kitchen, bedroom & bathroom were perfect. Not to mention relaxing while watching TV after a hard day on the mountain. We definitely will stay here again.
