Your lakeside home from home in beautiful tranquil surroundings is only 15 minutes drive from Castlebar town. Stroll our 5 acre grounds, enjoy your own private beach on Derryhick Lake, take our kayaks out for a paddle, go fishing for pike or say hello to our resident donkeys. The playground and fairy forest is sure to keep the little ones amused as well.

Strictly no dogs, no pets allowed. If pets are found onsite a 250euro fee will be applied for cleaning of the house and the grounds and immediate

Why they chose this property

Derryhick Escape is located on shores of the beautiful Derryhick Lough. One of Irelands cleanest lakes, it is a popular Pike and Perch fishing spot. We spent nearly 2 years renovating the cottages and the 5 acre grounds. We are located down a quiet country lane, nestled between the protected Cunnagher bog and Derryhick Lake.

What makes this property unique

You can escape to the tranquil countryside of County Mayo, watch all the wildlife, such as foxes, hares and otters walk by you. Listen to the dozens of birds or meet our resident rescue donkeys.

Your children will love the animal treasure hunt, the fairy forest or the playground.
We provide 5 kayaks and water equipment free of charge as well as a 4 metre whaly boat ideal for a quick spin or fishing.
We have 3 lake beaches, one of which has a floating dock pontoon ideal for swimming off.
Being only 15 minutes drive from the bustling Castlebar town means you can enjoy all the towns activities as well should you wish.

Pheasant Cottage is a traditional old Irish cottage, its original structure is over 100 years old, with a number of extensions it is now a fully functioning home from home yet holding the old world charm.
