About this property

Mid-century modernist woodland getaway in Plymouth

Nestled in the shade of an old growth forest yet so close to all that Ann Arbor, Plymouth & Detroit have to offer. There is no other place like this in the metro area.

Our house is an authentic 1966 Mid Century Modern renovated for modern life with peace, ease, & privacy at the heart of it all.

Get ready for your special event or unwind after a big day, it’s perfectly equipped for both.

The Ridge surrounds you with nature, hospitality, & design history to create an unforgettable experience.

This property is a very unique wooded acre with a three-story house up on a ridge. People always say “It’s like being up north!" and ask "Do you get bears?” The answer is fortunately “no, we do not get bears.” but there is plenty of wildlife to admire.

The home is a 1966 mid century modern design renovated inside and out then furnished with many pieces of modernist furniture from icons like Mies Van Der Rohe, Ray and Charles Eames, George Nelson, Le Corbusier, and Harry Bertoia.

On the top floor there are three bedrooms each with a Juliet balcony great for observing the natural environment. The primary suite includes a spacious bedroom lounge that is perfect for having a moment to yourself. There is also a brightly lit bathroom with double sinks, shower, and bath tub.

On the main floor there is a fully equipped kitchen with a nice stainless fridge, brand new dishwasher, range stove with oven, a kitchenaid mixer, lots of dish wear, cups, and glasses, a kettle for tea, coffee maker, and toaster oven. There’s a dedicated dining space and a large counter for serving.

If you don’t feel like cooking there are great restaurants nearby, many that deliver to the house. Just around the corner is Picnic Basket, a market with everything you can think of.

On the main floor there are interesting communal spaces. A daybed to lounge and read, a beautiful original stone hearth, a vinyl record player, and a flat screen TV with an Apple TV so you can queue up your favorite shows and sports.

On the first floor walkout there is an additional bedroom, a laundry room with professional grade steamer, a theater room with a projector to watch movies, a vintage TV and Sega Genesis with every game ever made, and a concrete outdoor patio with a picnic table.

We have a pack 'n play available for those traveling with small kiddos. The primary suite is also equipped with blackout curtains.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
