Asheville - Mountain Laurel Cabin - Secluded Mountain Getaway

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, just beneath majestic Mount Pisgah, you will find Mountain Laurel Cabin. Even though you are just minutes from downtown Asheville, when you drive up the paved driveway you feel as if you are miles from civilization. Sitting on 15 acres of some of the most beautiful mountain land around, the cabin is enclosed by towering hardwood trees and native rhododendron, holly, and laurel bushes.

Step up on the covered front porch and relax in one of the comfortable rocking chairs or the old fashioned porch swing. As you enter the cabin, you will be impressed with the beautiful wood floors and spacious cathedral ceiling of the great room, complete with a wood burning fireplace, cozy, comfortable furniture, books, as well as the TV, DVD, and VCR. The fully furnished kitchen and dining area are just off the great room, where there is seating for seven to eight. The master bedroom is also on the main floor, boasting a comfy queen-size bed with the master bath adjoining the bedroom. A large closet is in this bedroom, and houses extra blankets, pillows, and lots of games and puzzles.

Upstairs you will find the sleeping loft, which would be perfect for a family, with its queen-size bed and two twin beds. A full-size bath with shower is also upstairs. How pleasant it is to doze off to sleep at night while gazing at the fire burning in the fireplace! Out the back door, step onto a deck that feels like you are walking into the woods. Sit out on the deck and grill some steaks on the gas grill while listening to the birds and watching the squirrels. Your own private hideaway!

In the basement you will find a washer and dryer and two extra beds if needed, even though the basement is unfinished and unheated. The cabin is air-conditioned for the summer and has a heat pump and fireplace for winter. You can even leave the doors open and enjoy the cool, clean mountain air! Come to our little piece of heaven in the wonderful Western North Carolina Mountains, rest, relax, and enjoy!

About The Owner

My husband and I and his brother and wife bought this property in the 90's. From the timber that had to be removed for the road and housesite, they sawed all the lumber to build the cabin. We even had the hardwood floors and cabinets made from the lumber the boys sawed at our sawmill! We love to have guests enjoy the "fruit of our labors" here in our beautiful mountains!

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

There are so many beautiful cabins in our area for you to enjoy, but we invite you to give us a try! We all grew up in the beautiful mountains of WNC and wanted a place for others to get to experience a little bit of what we are blessed to enjoy every day!

What makes this cabin unique

We do all we can to make your visit one you will enjoy and talk about for weeks to come! If it is quiet and if it is rest you crave, you can definitely find it here at Mountain Laurel! But you are still only a short drive away from "city life" and all the ammenities it holds. The cabin is fully stocked with most supplies you will need for your trip, so just load up the car and head to the mountains!

Fulfilled Our Hope Of A Special Week!

  • 5 of 5

Our week was everything we could have wanted because of the location of this cabin. It offers the quiet and privacy of its mountain location, while being close to all Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway offer. The cabin lacks nothing for comfort from the rockers on the front porch to the back patio with grill. The Riddles have seen to all that might be needed in this two bedroom cabin and Mitzi was always available to answer any question whether about the cabin or a good place to eat.

Restful, peaceful, I could live here

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was all that was promised and more. It was clean, well-kept and secluded. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the front porch, as well as in several comfortable places within the house. We read, prepared good meals, slept and rested. With our busy lives it was the get-away we needed. We were also within reasonable driving distance from Mt. Pisgah with excellent walking trails, and from Hendersonville, a cool little town with unique shops. This was one of the most enjoyable vacations we have ever taken.

Quaint cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfectly quiet, low key weekend for my friends bachelorette! This cabin is nestled in the heart of a mountain and was perfect for what we needed. A little farther than we thought to dowtown and a pretty expensive cab ride, but perfect if you are just planning to explore! Very peaceful!

Property was well maintained, very neat & clean. It had everything you might need. It was located close to Asheville where we spent most of our time. We loved our stay and owners made the entire process simple. Will definitely visit again.

My friends and I stayed at the cabin for three nights over NYE weekend, and we had an absolute amazing time. The cabin was very spacious for all 8 of us, and it was fully stocked with items for the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The cabin is well maintained and the beds are very comfortable. There is WIFI in the cabin, which was good because most of us did not get any cell phone service there, but were able to communicate through iMessage and iChat. There is also a landline phone if you don't have an iphone.

We loved that we had a lot of privacy, but were still close to local stores and downtown Asheville. The owner (Mitzi) was a pleasure to work with, and was very helpful with any questions I had while arranging our trip. Overall, we all loved the cabin and had a great time. I already miss the cabin and the mountains, and can't wait to return!

Cozy Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

My family enjoyed a Thanksgiving stay at this lovely cabin. It's cozy yet spacious. The beds are all very comfortable. The front porch has rocking chairs and a swing, and our morning coffee never tasted so good as waking up on the porch amidst the trees. The owners keep it spotless and well-stocked with thoughtful necessities you might have forgotten to bring. They provide all the supplies for a wonderful fire in the fireplace. It exceeded our expectations, and we hope to return some day. The owner is very gracious and helpful. Great location, great value.
