Villa Gerda is located in the village of Vrh Laii. This is a small village just a short drive away from the beautiful little medieval town of Vizinada. The village centre can also be reached on foot or by bike via the Parenzana, probably the most beautiful cycling route in Istria. When visiting this small town, you can enjoy the beautiful

beautiful view from the hill over the Mirna Valley and the blue and green colours of Istria. As you walk along the streets of this small town, you will be enchanted by the smell of cakes during the Slatka Istra (Sweet Istria) event. At the top of the hill is the Sanctuary of the Field of God and the 15th-century Gothic Church of St Mary with a stone head on the façade, which, according to legend, represents Atilla, the leader of the Huns. In the 19th century, the famous ballerina Carlotta Grisa danced in the streets of this beautiful town. Viinada is rich in Istrian dialects.
