About this property
Frida's House, Art-Filled Victorian in the Heart of Detroit
A destination in itself. Step inside this lush, Frida Kahlo inspired Victorian where every room is a work of art. Rich colors, botanical murals, authentic Spanish tile, vintage finds, dramatic lighting and soaring spaces create an unforgettable stay. Gather in two living rooms, cook + linger around the spacious kitchen + dining table, relax in hammock filled sunrooms, or retreat to the vaulted attic lounge. Sleeps 14 on a quiet street minutes from downtown and a 15 min walk to Michigan Central.
Originally built in 1900, this thoughtfully restored Victorian was designed for memorable gatherings. With over 3,800 square feet, seven bedrooms, and multiple gathering spaces, there's room for everyone to spread out while still coming together.
Start your mornings with coffee in one of the sunny sitting rooms surrounded by lush greenery, then gather around the oversized dining table for breakfast before heading out to explore Detroit. The fully stocked kitchen makes cooking for a crowd easy, whether you're preparing a holiday meal or a late night snack after a Tigers game.
When it's time to relax, choose between two inviting living rooms, curl up with a book in the hammock chairs, or head upstairs to the vaulted attic lounge for foosball, board games, movies, or simply hanging out together.
Every bedroom has its own personality, blending historic charm with modern comfort to give everyone a space they'll be excited to call their own. Two brand new furnaces and two central air conditioners keep the home comfortable in every season.
One of our favorite things about the location is that it feels surprisingly peaceful despite being so close to everything. You're on a quiet residential street with plenty of driveway and street parking, yet you're just a short walk to Michigan Central Station and several fantastic restaurants in Mexicantown and Corktown. Downtown, the riverfront, sporting events, museums, and Detroit's best neighborhoods are all just minutes away.
Whether you're here for a family reunion, wedding weekend, work retreat, birthday celebration, or simply to experience Detroit with friends, we've created a home that's just as memorable as the city itself.

About the host
Hosted by Bobby
I love creating special places for people to come together with the people they love, make memories, and hopefully have an experience they’ll talk about long after they’ve gone home. There’s something really rewarding about having a small part in that.
I’ve always loved to travel, and I tend to bring a little bit of what I discover home with me. The places I stay, the homes I see, the colors, architecture, art, and little details that make somewhere feel unique all find their way into the spaces I create. I love renovating homes and giving them a personality of their own, rather than making them feel like just another place to sleep.
I also genuinely enjoy meeting people from different places and hearing their stories. One of my favorite things about hosting is knowing that people from all over the country, and sometimes the world, are gathering in a place I helped create. Home means something different to everyone. For some people it’s a familiar neighborhood, for others it’s a place filled with family and friends, and sometimes it’s simply a beautiful, comfortable place where you can relax and feel like yourself for a few days. I try to create spaces that can be whatever “home” means to you.
I’m lucky to call Detroit home, and I love sharing the city with people who are experiencing it for the first time, as well as those coming back to a place they already love.
