's country house in Ahrensberg, built in 1982 in the traditional local style, in the municipality of Güby, Rendsburg-Eckernförde district, Schleswig-Holstein, a cozy, unique, and very spacious vacation apartment was created in 2015–2016 in the
basement, in the rooms that had long been occupied by the family. The park-like “Country Garden” is directly accessible, surrounds the entire house, and
offers wonderful opportunities for enjoyment.
The garden borders a rustic forest belonging to the well-known Louisenlund boarding school. The house is located on a
quiet, winding residential street with beautiful neighboring houses, some with thatched roofs. Ahrensberg borders the old farming village of Güby (<br>), which is known today primarily for its golf course. It is approximately 15 km to both the Baltic Sea resort of Eckernförde and the cathedral and museum city of Schleswig.
The vacation rental is located on the lower residential floor. It has a separate exterior entrance. The parking space is located directly in front of the door. The rooms facing north and east have windows of nearly standard size.
Since the floor is enclosed by a watertight concrete basin, it is completely dry and can be comfortably heated as needed. In the summer, the rooms tend to be cooler and thus more comfortable than, for example, in attic apartments.
The rooms are decorated in an understated country house style inspired by Scandinavian and English designs.
Plenty of books and reading material, ranging from classic literature to more recent art and lifestyle books.
Wi-Fi: High-speed internet in all rooms! Ideal if you need to stay connected even while on vacation.
Cell service varies by network, ranging from very good to satisfactory/adequate. Very good via Wi-Fi calling.
The kitchen isn’t very large, but it’s perfectly equipped with a Miele dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, exhaust hood venting to the outside, and a dining/work table that seats 3.
The dining room can accommodate up to 8 people. Armchairs and books, combined with the kitchen, create a “kitchen-diner” atmosphere.
The “Green Room” can be used as a single or (small) double room and/or as an “extension” of the “Red Room”
when it’s not needed as a sleeping area. It has a separate entrance. Extra TV. Small desk,
wardrobe.
The “Red Room” has a double bed (see above), a small desk, a wardrobe, a dresser, an armchair, and a bookshelf.
Bathroom 1 (shower, sink, toilet) is small but equipped with every convenience, including a changing table and a large shelf.
The living room is “spacious enough” for all guests and features a TV as well as a desk.
The “Country Room” is ideal for guests who prefer a spacious setting or, for example, a young family that would like to have one child—or
two children—in the same room with them. Double/family bed, single bed, children’s/baby bed. Armchair, larger
writing/work desk
Bathroom 2 was renovated in 2017 (new shower and tub), toilet, washing machine.
If children are booked, a playroom with plenty of games, building blocks, etc., is available. You can, for example, draw at the table. Table soccer is in the left garage. All essential for rainy days!
The hallway offers storage space for shoes, boots, coats, and suitcases (separate closet). Drying facilities are available in the boiler room.
Most of the garden is available for free use depending on sun exposure and your preferences. Right in front of the vacation rental, an
inviting seating area invites you to enjoy meals and relax. The patio furniture (chairs, table, lounge chairs) can be freely rearranged depending on
sun, shade, and your preferences. Sandbox. Barbecues are allowed. However, there is no paved patio.
Bicycles, strollers, etc., can be stored in the adjacent building where they’ll be protected from the rain.
Subject to minor changes.
Bed linens and towels are, of course, included.
