The "Zur alten Schnitzerei" vacation rental is a cozy and bright apartment located right in Grünhainichen.

Comfortably furnished in a modern country house style, the apartment offers all the amenities of a modern vacation rental.

For half a century, the rooms of this vacation rental were actually home to a well-known woodcarving workshop.
You can still see some pictures, documents, and tools from that time here. Grünhainichen, known for its production of delicate angel figurines, folk art, wood carvings, and wooden toys, offers you a relaxing stay.

The south-facing house boasts a magnificent view of the green forests of the Ore Mountains. The vacation rental is located in a quiet area, at the end of a cul-de-sac and right on the edge of the forest.

The kitchen is equipped with a stove with a ceramic cooktop, dishwasher, coffee maker, and refrigerator, and offers a full set of basic kitchen utensils. The apartment consists of a living room with a modern sofa bed featuring a comfortable spring mattress for 2 adults, a bedroom, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom. An extra bed can be provided at any time. For our younger guests, we have a travel crib, a high chair, and toys available.
Wi-Fi and a parking space in front of the house are available free of charge.

The Grünhainichen-Borstendorf train station is just a few minutes’ walk away. From there, you can reach many other beautiful hiking trails and destinations. A bus stop for public transportation is within sight of the house and can therefore also be reached in just a few moments.
In town, you’ll find a bakery, a pharmacy, a savings bank, a post office, as well as a pizzeria and a fruit and vegetable shop. The nearest major shopping centers are about 10 km away.

Medical care is well-established. Within the town, you’ll find a general practitioner, a dentist, and several physical therapy practices. The nearest hospitals are located in the cities of Zschopau, Freiberg, and Chemnitz.
From Grünhainichen, you can also easily reach slightly more distant destinations. We’d be happy to provide tips based on your preferences.
