About this property
Cottage near Angoulême, Charente
Rural semi-detached cottage restored in outbuildings of a 17th century manor house.
From the cottage, located in a quiet hamlet with all the stone houses, typical of the region, you can go hiking or biking, in the middle of fields and woods, or go to the discovery of the sources of the Touvre.
If you prefer Angouleme, its architectural heritage or its festivals, you will be in 10 minutes by car.
And if you prefer ... do nothing, you will enjoy the comfort of our accommodation.
Nature, sport: The Charente offers many opportunities for activities close to nature: hiking, sports courses in the forest, canoeing on the Touvre, fishing, climbing in the valley of clear waters, bike-rail, walks along the Charente ...
The river Charente can also be discovered in barges or barges.
North Charente has sites dedicated to nature activities: the lakes of Haute Charente (acrobranche, fishing, swimming)
Heritage: Ten minutes from the cottage, you can discover the old Angouleme, its town hall (former home of Marguerite de Valois), its cathedral, its painted walls.
Lovers of old stones and authenticity, the Charente will seduce you. It is one of the richest departments in Romanesque churches, abbeys. You can also discover, in the course of your car rides many villages that have retained the charm of yesteryear: narrow streets, masonry rubble. Some are part of the most beautiful villages of France.
Many sites also invite you to immerse yourself in the Gallo-Roman life (thermal baths of Chassenon, Gallic village of Sers ...)
