My family has been the sole owner of this property since it was built. My family is from Oaxaca and knows the area well. I currently reside in Colorado with my husband and three children ages 17, 14 and 5.
Sandra Shields purchased this condo in 1993
My family and I love to stay at our condo in Huatulco and do so as often as we can. We have vacationed there by ourselves as well as with friends and family. Our children (of much varied ages) find many activities to keep them entertained. The boys love to boogie board and play in the waves. My husband loves to wait for the divers to bring him fresh oysters straight out of the ocean. My daughter spends hours chasing the black birds and trying to keep them from eating her snacks. There are plenty of comfortable lounge chairs located in the sun and in the shade under authentic palapas. The lounge chairs are located along the pristine beach and amongst the beautifully manicured gardens and grass around the pool. We all love exploring the nearby town, La Crucecita, shopping and enjoying the amazing cuisine found in local restaurants.
My grandparents bought this condo while it was still in the construction phase. They chose the apartment located in the highest location of the resort because of its spectacular views and its privacy. They knew that this place was a one in a million. Huatulco is not your typical tourist town, it is much more. This town is very authentic and will leave you knowing and loving the 'real' Mexico.
My wife and I returned to our favorite Mexican destination, Huatulco on Feb 9th 2015. We chose to stay at this condo at Camino Real Zaashila. This was our first time at the Camino.
We arrived in the early evening, , check in was easy and smooth. The next morning we got a good look at the condo, it is spacious, very clean, two bathrooms (great) large bedroom with a king sized bed, plunge pool, and great view. All we needed.
The Camino property is large and easy access to a wonderful private beach. Overall it shows it's age, and could use some major updates. We chose not to eat at the restaurant's, they are very expensive, and the bar drinks were pricey as well. We prepared many of our meals in the condo, had friends over and it was great that way. many of the people there were return guests and had been going to Camino for many years. Nice mix of folks .
A few issues with the condo. The kitchen really needs an upgrade if you like to cook and have dinner parties, very cramped, and the stove needs to be replaced. Also we were under the impression that we could pay for maid service when we needed it, but there is a daily fee for using the facilities and maid service. It wasn't a big deal, but it would be good to be informed of this if you are on a budget.
Overall the condo met our needs, and the Camino Real is a wonderful spot to spend a relaxing vacation. I hope this review does not come across as too negative, just pointing out some things that could be improved. We love Huatulco and this was a great place to enjoy all it has to offer.
What a Blessing. We stayed for 3 weeks in July of 2011.
Absolutely spectacular! The views from the room are priceless. Spending time on the premises with the grounds crew made the entire visit pleasant. W were waited on hand and foot. The pool, restaurants, massages and amenities were unmatchable.
This one bedroom actually sleeps 5 and provides 2 elegant bathrooms.
We were able to save some monies by going to the local mercado and buying groceries. The kitchen allotted for us to make our own meals.
A must vacation spot for plenty of Rest and Relaxation.
You will enjoy Camino Real's enormous pool, private and secluded beach, tennis courts, massage hut, fitness center and three on site restaurants to choose from.
