About Jeff Ziemer
My wife Julie and I have been married for 17 years and love to entertain family at the lake house. Lately, we have been so busy with our children's activities, that we haven't been able to get to the lake house very often. That is why we have decided to provide it as a vacation rental for others to enjoy.
Jeff Ziemer purchased this House in 2008
Why Jeff Ziemer chose Seneca
We purchased this property to take advantage of beautiful lake Hartwell and to have a place to stay when attending Clemson University sporting events, especially Clemson football games!!! Our football routine is to boat over to the game, walk up and over a hill and you are at the famous Esso Club. From there, the football stadium is across the street where we tailgate in Lot 2 adjacent to the stadium. This is much easier than fighting traffic to and from the game and is just as convenient as many of the parking spots available. We have 2 children who love to wakeboard and swim. My son and his friends often attend football camp in the spring while the parents and other children stay at the lake house. Of course every trip during warm weather involves fishing, swimming, tanning, tubing, skiing and wake boarding! The house location is an easy drive from Greenville, SC (about an hour) and is on a deep quiet cove in an area that is very scenic and peaceful.
What makes this House unique
My father in law helps us manage the property. He is retired, very capable and is available to help answer questions or provide assistance if necessary.

Beautiful location, great layout for family getaway
We enjoyed very much our stay at Jeff’s lake house near Seneca. The process was flawless—from helpful emails ahead of time, clear arrival/departure expectations, and a keyless lock on the front door. The layout of the house is as described: 4 bedrooms with a master (with king) and en suite bathroom and a guest bedroom/bath with queen upstairs, and two more kid-friendly rooms downstairs (one with twin over full bunk beds and another with two twins) which share a single bathroom. The king was comfortable with a memory foam topper on it, though the twins downstairs were reportedly not as comfortable for our teenagers.
As for common space, there were nice upstairs and downstairs living areas, each with large TVs. We couldn’t get the upstairs TV to work, but it may have been our tech savvylessness (there were clear instructions) and we really didn’t need to. The kitchen was just fine. We sat four at the small table and two at the islands in elevated stools for meals. The dining chairs were a little rickety—I leaned to the left and cracked a thin band of wood on one of them by accident—so be careful. There are sufficient dishes and appliances for meal prep, and a handful of condiments in the fridge, but you will probably need to shop for extra things like butter, cooking oil, or paper towels.
We did not use the fireplace, but at Jeff’s suggestion, built a campfire on the beach next to the lake to roast SMORs. There was plenty of nearby brush to help make a great fire. Overall, we had a delightful time at Jeff’s very comfortable and scenic lakehouse. If you need to sleep 5 or more and don’t need to be close to anywhere in particular other than a lake, it’s a great getaway.
This is such a beautiful, well done and comfortable home. The owner was completely outstanding, helpful and easy to work with. This vrbo qualifies as a favorite!
Great family place
This home is perfect for a large family or good friends. Great separate living areas, nice fenced back yard, and all the amenities you need for cooking and enjoying the water. We brought our own boat, and the launch ramp was just around the corner. Several restaurants on the water, or easy drive into Seneca or Clemson for more choices.
This is a lovely home with wonderfully stocked kitchen, attractive living spaces (up and down) comfortable bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. We so enjoyed our time on Lake Hartwell...we were there for the total solar eclipse and it was spectacular. The boat ramp was close by and the dock was perfect.
The owner was super to work with! He answered many questions....I can ask a lot.
Our only concern was the steep driveway and the walk to the dock. Questions I did not think to ask. However, all the old people managed to get around just fine!
Again, the location, the beautiful home and great friends made for a wonderful time!!
Great location and house arrangement for adults and teens.
Owners and manager very accomodating and helpful. Pleasing house decor; comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen. Dock is great as well. Very enjoyable week at this home.
Five friends since high school take an annual fishing trip. This year Lake Hartwell. The home had the room we needed, boat ramp in the neighborhood and deep water dock adjacent to the property. Upper deck of the home has nice view of the lake and outdoor grill. Enjoyable stay, and would recommend this property for your stay. Seneca and Clemson SC about equal distance for things you might need or restaurant.
House is located in a subdivision with natural surroundings yet is less than a 10 minute drive from either Clemson or Seneca South Carolina. Both are small vibrant towns with restaurants, shopping and other popular amenities.
