Lac Vieux Desert Log Cabin Getaway

A rustic and beautiful full log cabin with a wonderful view of Lac Vieux Desert. In addition, there are modern amenities including central air, fireplace, wifi, excellent cell reception, satellite T.V., and modern appliances. A portable generator is available as well in case of a power outage. The log cabin has 1 bedroom on the main floor, a loft which sleeps 4 comfortably, and a lower level bedroom. Furthermore, there are two full bathrooms in the cabin. One is on the main floor and the other is on the lower level. During your stay you are sure to enjoy beautiful landscapes with little distraction from neighbors, as well as, wild life that frequent the area including: deer, fox, and bald eagles. The property has its own private dock for swimming or fishing and a shore station available upon request. A family pet is welcome to join you upon request for a small fee. We are confident you will enjoy your stay at our Log Cabin Getaway.

Stunning views!

Beautiful cabin with stunning views. The location is convenient for fishing at nearby lakes and a short drive to the many waterfalls in the area. Mike was a wonderful host.We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

Amazing property

Great place to stay! Clean, great view, easy access to the snowmobile trail. Parked the trailer right at the front door on the driveway. Mike is a great host. Will be back!

Excellent property

This is our second year staying here. Highly recommend! This is a beautiful property and the owners are always so gracious and helpful with all details. Great communication, great location, very clean and a wonderful vacation spot for our family.

Family vacation on the lake

This was our 2nd time at this place and we had a great time! Love the the view of the lake from the cabin and the updates. We had everything we needed, Mike is an awesome host!

Perfect Summer Getaway

My family and I greatly enjoyed our week long stay at the property. Mike was an incredibly helpful and attentive host from booking to check out. The pictures on the website are recent but don't do justice to how nice this cabin truly is. We comfortably slept 6 people and two dogs in the cabin. The cabin had plenty of parking, was very quiet, secluded, and had a nice dock. The kitchen had all cooking utensils and dishware that we needed and it was very handy to have a dishwasher as well as laundry machines. All in all the cabin is walk in ready for anyone looking to vacation in the north woods.

Great summer trip

First of all , this property is very private and beautiful. We had a lift available for our boat and we spent a week enjoying the lake. We were successful fishing off the pier and boat all week and found some great sandbars to go swimming . It was nice to have our dog along for the trip also. Mike was a great host and we look forward to staying here again in the future . The cabin exceeds your expectations and was well supplied .

Up North Getaway!

We stayed for two nights to attend a family birthday elsewhere. The house was clean and well appointed. The walk to the pier was longer then expected with a drop of about 75 vertical feet. There is a road that you can drive on down to the pier. Lakefront did not seem suitable for our grandchildren to swim, but great for a fishing getaway. The owner was very cordial and was prompt in responding to our questions.

Lake life at its best

We spent the week over the Fourth of July here and it was so much fun. We had a lot of family and 3 kids, every person had a bed and was comfortable. The place was beautiful and had just about everything we needed. Mike checked in a couple times to make sure we had everything and was great to work with. Weather cooperated every day but the 4th so we missed out on the Phelps fireworks. We went to Bond Falls and spent the rest of the time on the lake. We didn’t want to leave, but we will be back again! Thanks Mike and Coreen!

amazing property!

This property was meticulously maintained and absolutely beautiful. The family room boasts a panorama-type window that looks out over the woods/lake. Our kids enjoyed looking for bald eagles that regularly flew over the property. This is one of the few times I've been to any property (hotel or rental or other) where the house itself has surpassed my expectations. Mike was incredibly responsive and my husband loved fishing with him - he is a champion Muskie fisherman and knows the lake like the back of his hand. The property is on the lake but far enough away that I didn't have to worry about our four or one year old kids wandering too close (you have to walk down a small road). Our daughter enjoyed picking wild flowers that surround the property, and finding "treasures" like snail shells, raspberry bushes and the like. She also enjoyed the "princess loft" that has three beds and a futon and overlooks the family room. We even had the pleasure of seeing a doe and her two fawns eating in the garden area one morning. It's delightfully secluded and what you might imagine a poet would live in. Yet it still boasts all of the modern amenities that we've all become accustomed to using (washer/dryer, gas range, cable, Internet, etc.) including some extras like a fish cleaning station in the basement. The surrounding areas are quaint and homey. If you're looking for serenity, this is it. Couldn't have imagined a better place. We are already looking at booking next year!

Great Northwoods Cabin

This was definitely what we were looking for in a Lac Vieux Desert cabin. Modern, updated and clean with great owners and lake access. The owners communicate really well and follow up enough to make connecting with them completely comfortable if needed. Directions to the cabin were great and worked well for everyone. The cabin is awesome and the kitchen is one of the best with great cookware. Pictures and the website don’t convey just how well done it is. Someone has great taste and they’ve thought of most everything. The great room was the perfect gathering place and the downstairs living area made a good getaway from the noise for those work calls that tracked us down. Even seemingly simple things like having good towels and bedding and other essentials were well thought out and available. Some smaller things like outside motion censors and the dart board near the bar were also appreciated. We were on the Northern all week, so the fishing was awesome. Nothing like the Muskies on the walls or in the photos, but we were hitting loads of Northern each time out and had fun. Even had time for a quick trip to Bond Falls. The cabin was easy to find from the lake and the boat lift, outdoor fire pit and grill all worked out well. Look forward to coming back soon.

Gorgeous Getaway!

The property is a sizeable 3-story residence set on a hill that overlooks the shorefront. The cabin is built with large timbers, and beautiful stone, with slate and tile floors. It is set on a hill at the end of a secluded drive. It is very well built and comfortable. The owners were more than prompt to address any questions we had and gave clear and concise directions and answers. The owners can fish and give good advice on where to find them. We were able to catch lots of fish. Perch, Bass, Sunfish, Bluegill, and Pike. The lake seems to be abundant with panfish and pike/musky. This was a wonderful place to stay for a family getaway! We saw Deer and lots of other wildlife, The owners are great hosts and we hope someday to come back! Thank you!

Beautiful cabin

Mike and Coreen were wonderful hosts, great communication, beautiful cabin with great accommodations that worked great for our family. Pictures don’t do the cabin justice, it was a wonderful home. Best we have stayed in and I would highly recommend it. We will stay there again.

Comfortable and Convenient

Mike was very timely and extremely responsive to the few questions we had about the property! Great location and beautiful setting. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The road down to the dock was easily walked. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Awesome Vacation

We loved the place, the weather was great with lots of snow and also lots of sun! Great fishing and snow biking on nearby trails. Highly recommend this place and the owners who were super accommodating and easy to reach if needed.

Coreen and Mike reside in Wausau Wisconsin, but the land on which the cabin sits has been in Mike's family since 1977. Mike spent his childhood during summers and weekends fishing on Lac Vieux Desert.
