Guestbook comments from the owner

How much fun we had at your most spectacular compound, Eagle Nest.

The buildings swallowed us up with ease, everybody had a place to go to play or have quiet time. It was such a treat and Dad loved it. Jaime was a delight and was there for us if we needed her.

I just wanted you both to know that we ALL had the best time and appreciate all your efforts in making that happen.

Thanks so much.

I'd call it heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

I truly cannot say enough about Eagle Nest. It's just one of those indescribably beautiful places. It has everything: snow shoeing, skiing, gorgeous lakes, stunning, clean accommodations where you feel right at home... and anything else you could possibly think of. The customer service is also second to none! Every time I go I think there's no way this can get any better. And then it does. You must experience this place in this lifetime. There is simply no parallel.

Heavenly! Perfect for a large group

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Eagle Nest with a group of about 25 in the middle of the summer and we had the most magical time. I'm afraid words cannot convey what a special place it is.

The house itself is spectacular. Just a few of the highlights: the living room has an enormous fire place and curved couches (large enough for everyone to play charades) and seating areas and window seats; the birch-covered walls and ceiling in the dining room; the industrial kitchen; the enormous, comfy bedrooms all with views of the lake; and the bar and pool room downstairs. The house is designed for large gatherings and allows for everyone to be all together or to gather in smaller groups in the main living room or the library. The property is beautifully maintained, and the bedrooms are very comfortable.

Eagle Nest is one of the few houses on Eagle Lake so the property is very private. The lake itself is crystal clear and the water is perfect for swimming, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, etc. The boathouse has lots of offerings so it's easy to get out on the water. Every morning, we went down to the lake to start the day with a swim and it was heavenly. There is so much to do on the large property, from water sports to biking, hiking, tennis and more that we never ran out of things to do. We went on a number of gorgeous hikes up the Adirondacks hills and were rewarded with spectacular views. One evening, we had a Western hoedown party at the hangar (yes, there's a plane hangar on the property too - seaplanes can land there), and had the most wonderful evening dancing as the sun set over the lake.

I HIGHLY recommend Eagle Nest and hope I might get to return many times myself in years to come!!

Eagle Nest: an extraordinary place

  • 5 of 5

Want to take a trip back to an earlier time? Where it’s possible for a family (or group) of 35 to gather and relax, sharing new experiences and old memories? Eagle Nest with its fantastic house and guest house, an almost private lake, plenty of places to run around and play together, and wonderful people to help when needed. The kitchen is a fabulous place with everything you need to make cooking less a chore and more a family fun effort. The pictures and the description tell most of the story. And there’s no exaggeration, more understated. Most of the bedrooms are much larger than you would expect and the dining room and living room are certainly big enough for the whole crowd. Swimming and boating on the lake is fantastic.

We had our last annual family reunion at Eagle Nest (20 adults, 11 kids). We all had a great time. I guess the key question is: would we do it again? And the answer is a resounding YES! We’ll be back again this year.

Great Family Reunion in the Adirondacks

  • 4 of 5

We had a great week! What a beautiful compound! The main lodge is amazing and the guest lodge is lovely too. We had a very nice morning having a painting lesson with Sarah Yeoman in the boathouse - it was a perfect location!!

The kitchen was wonderful. We loved the walk in fridge and the pantry. We got good use of the old stove and griddle. We absolutely loved the birch dining room and the great room in the main lodge.

Thanks for having the piano tuned! A number of us took advantage of that to play for awhile.

There were many other nice touches - having baskets of items folks might forget, the s'mores basket, having a fire ready to start, having towels and robes to use, water bottles to take and evergreen sachet keepsakes. Oh, and having canoes and life jackets available was nice - they got some good use! "
