About Bebe Gordon
I am a retired airline employee, as such, I've been all over the world and have chosen San Miguel as my special retreat. I emphasize personal service but at the same time, I don't live in San Miguel but have great support staff there on the property daily to assist you.
Bebe Gordon purchased this Guest House in 2013
Why Bebe Gordon chose Zona Centro
When I found the Jewels, it has a natural setting, feels incredibly open and airy and is a quiet refuge from the activities down below but is just minutes away by walking or if you don't feel like walking, transportation is readily available just steps from the Jewels.
What makes this Guest House unique
You needn't go up to the roof to see the beautiful view of the city. The property is adjacent to the city's famous lookout, you can have that same view from INSIDE the casita, that's what sets it apart from all of the rentals I've seen in San Miguel. It gets great reviews due to all the touches it has, we don't furnish it with 'rental' type goods, we try to have the best quality furnishings, yet we're not asking high prices, our amenities are what sets us apart. You will be greeted with home made pastries and a steady flow of complimentary coffee. Purified water is supplied in the casitas, and each casita has its own kitchenette, We try to give added value to the guest's overall experience yet, not burden them with excessive fees and hidden costs. This is why we have free WIFI, Cable, long distance phone service to the US and Canada, complimentary Netflix and Amazon Prime. We furnish purified bottled water and housekeeping once a week with light laundry service if you care for it. We feel you get the value for your money at the Jewels and on top of that, you get unmatched beauty in your surroundings.

Although the casita ruby was fairly close to the center of
Town it was quite a strenuous climb up hill to get there. We usually
ended up taking a taxi or bus back to the casita. The casita itself
Had a million dollar view of San Miguel and we felt very safe at all times. The bed was comfortable but was only a double bed. If you like to do some cooking or any real food preparation, we found the the little kitchenette quite deficient. A fridge the size of a bar fridge
and the few dishes supplied were cracked and chipped. The outside lounge chairs were also in need of repair. (Stained & torn) we also felt there could be better lighting. All in all, an acceptable place to stay for 2 or 3 nights, but for longer stays I would recommend something else.
Beautiful Casita with Stunning Views
We had such a wonderful stay at the Jewels of San Miguel! We were in the Opal Suite. The bed was so comfortable. Everything we could possible need was available to us. The city views were amazing. We enjoyed coming home in the afternoon and taking a mini siesta on the roof-top patio. The location was perfect for us to access a taxi and walk to the center of town for shopping and dining. Bebe was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a beautiful experience!
Truly a Treasure
We felt this was a great choice for us. The location was excellent, and the view of San Miguel was beautiful. I loved the accommodations and would stay here again. I would recommend to anyone.
Lisa, thank you so much for your kind review and thank you for spending your vacation at the Jewels. Please keep us in mind the next time you or your friends plan to visit San Miguel de Allende. We’d love to have you back!
views are the best!
I hope to stay in Casita Ruby again... I visited during Dia de los Muertos and was so pleased to have this quiet terrace to retreat to every night! A comfortable bed, big bathroom, small kitchen, but really its all about that terrace & unbeatable view. Yes, as others have said the street outside the Jewels is very busy and not a fun walk, but just turn left into the first alley down to the Centro, and avoid it altogether! I wished the land line had been working since my cell's text and calls in San Miguel were not completely reliable, but that's kind of the deal in Mexico. WiFi worked 95% of the time. Loved my meal at Nectar the most, and had an easy time with the banks & ATMs. I was traveling alone and felt completely safe. Thank you, Elizabeth!
Amazing view, close to town, comfy bed, wonderful host. Thank you!!!
Thank you Maria and Carlos, we loved having you here at the Jewels, if I should ever go to Ajijic, I will get in touch for recommendations for great restaurants there. Happy birthday again Carlos! Bebe
Beautiful Views, Great Location
We had a great time in this beautiful city and loved our accommodations.
The location is just steps away from the city's tourist lookout, El Mirador, a breathtaking view that you will have from any of the Jewel's private terraces. Quiet, private yet both busses ($.35) and taxis ($2.45) pick you up just outside the street entrance door. Such an easy location to navigate the town. Stay above the fray, the noise and traffic at the Jewels of San Miguel.
