How do you say "perfect"???
This property was JUST PERFECT - in every way. This is a spacious home fully equipped beyond what I have ever found in a get-away home - but more importantly, the setting for the home is unparalleled! Even in a heat wave, we could comfortably sit in the shady yard, play corn hole, enjoy a seafood dinner cooked at home. . . . We loved getting out on the water in the kayaks, swimming - and easy access to the many bike rides we enjoyed.
Stephanie and David were ever helpful and patient. And, Gracie was a welcome visitor and playmate. I only wish our dog Tucker had been able to come so we could add his thoughts :) Next time.
A Very Special Place
Before booking our weeklong stay, I read all the reviews and expected a lovely, well-kept waterfront house. Trust me, the reviews and the pictures do not do it justice. As soon as I opened the front door, I was wowed! Gleaming wood floors, sunlight and sparkling water reflecting through the open floor plan, and a beautifully but comfortably decorated home. And it's so clean; it's hard to believe they allow pets. The location of this home is absolutely perfect - on a quiet cul-de-sac but a short drive to all the area attractions. As other reviewers have noted, the owners have gone out of their way to stock the home with everything you might need during your stay; honestly I'd never seen so many towels in one home! But more than anything else, the waterfront setting is truly special. The views, sounds and smells (freshly mown grass, sweet spring blooms, clean breezes) were both relaxing and re-energizing. We miss them already! Thanks Stephanie and David. We hope to see you again soon.
We had a great time during a quick weekend reunion with friends. The property is beautiful, the house is very updated and very well maintained. It has virtually everything you could think of, including a pantry loaded with all the essential toiletries, which we found incredibly convenient. The bathrooms were stocked like a hotel and were spotless. We met one of the owners who was very down to earth and friendly. We used the kayaks and played some bocce in the yard. The waterfront view is fantastic. The house is a few minutes from downtown St Michaels and we were able to get an Uber for dinner Saturday night. The house was well worth the price and I would recommend it to anyone in the future.
Perfect getaway, lovely home
I echo the prior reviews entirely. This home is beautifully furnished, immaculately kept and well-provisioned with all the amenities one could wish for. While it is not a large home the layout provides a lot of great spaces to be together as well as spaces for alone-time. It is steps from the very tranquil inlet which provides a lovely way to greet and end the day. The owners have thoughtfully provided anything a family could want for recreation including kayaks with flotation vests, brand new bikes with helmets, a corn hole game and lots of board games. The kitchen is one of the best-stocked in terms of cookware and tableware of any rental I have ever had. Between the outdoor grill, the kitchen and the very generous dining table, families who like to cook and eat together can have very memorable meals during a stay here. The home is very good for anyone with mobility issues as everything is basically on one level--there is just a small step from the dining area to the living room. This is a cozy home where you can enjoy a cuddling up with a book, board game or movie on a rainy day just as thoroughly as you might enjoy kayaking on a sunny day. It is nice that the owners are next door--they are gracious and caring but respectful of their renters' privacy. St. Michael's, Easton, Oxford and Tilghman Island are all very close. There is also a really excellent restaurant literally a 3 minute drive (or short bike-ride) from the house called T at the General Store.
Beautiful home in stunning waterfront setting
We have stayed in vacation homes in several European countries and all over the U.S. and Canada and we've never stayed in such a well-stocked home as this. Stephanie and David have thought of literally everything -- every little thing -- to make your stay in this home as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
The home and property are immaculate and well-maintained and the descriptions of the amenities are accurate. However, they do not do justice to the wealth of indoor games, water activities, yard games, and kitchen supplies that this house supplies. We visited for a week with our children, ages 18, 15, and 6. All three were thrilled to have access to the huge and beautiful yard (complete with hammock and corn hole) and the water. We spent hours and hours on the provided kayaks and paddle boards -- the water was wonderful and there are great waterways to safely explore, even for amateurs like us. The kitchen is fabulous for cooking and gathering. And the screened porch is just about the most perfect place on earth.
The town of St. Michael's is a ten-minute drive from the home and offers many good shopping and dining options. We enjoyed Theo's and Ava's, both for dinner, and Justine's for ice cream. The Maritime Museum is worth a visit, especially the boat shed, where you can visit with volunteers who are handcrafting small watercraft as you look on.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation! We will certainly visit again soon.
We stayed only 4 nights as it was our 15 month old's first vacation. We can't wait to return! Stephanie and David really have thought of everything: plenty of bikes w helmets, games, kayaks, paddle boards, life vests, fresh linens, plenty of towels, FULLY stocked kitchen and there was even a Pack n Play for the baby! They quietly replaced a hammock that had gotten frayed with a brand new one. They are next door but they totally respect your privacy, which is so key. Their lab, Gracie, was a doll--friendly, playful and welcoming to our 3 pooches. You just cannot beat the setting--the white Adirondacks overlooking the water and the pristine dock..serene and beautiful. My husband and I have been going to Easton and St. Michaels and Oxford for years. This spot is a GEM for the whole family. Stephanie and David and Gracie, thank you for sharing your home with us!
