The holiday home

On the ground floor you’ll find a light and spacious living room with comfortable seating, a large dining table and direct access to the terrace. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped: induction hob, combi microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, hand blender, citrus press and complete tableware for up to 6 people. The adjoining utility room includes a washing machine, dryer, an additional fridge-freezer and a drying rack.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms: two rooms with comfortable double boxspring beds (160 cm × 200 cm) and one room with two single beds (90 cm × 200 cm). The bathroom has a shower, washbasin and toilet. Families will appreciate the thoughtful extras: stair gate, toys, highchair, children’s tableware, a baby/toddler bath and a potty. In the master bedroom there is also a desk with chair – perfect for anyone who needs to get some work done with a reliable WiFi connection.

Garden and outdoor space

The property sits on a sunny 610 m² plot, offering lots of privacy and space. The south-facing terrace has an electric sunshade and is furnished with a lounge set and sun loungers – a wonderful place for breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The holiday park

At the reception, bicycles are available for rent, including e-bikes, so you can easily explore the surroundings at your own pace.

The surroundings

Schoonloo lies in the heart of the Drentsche Aa National Park, surrounded by forests, heathland and fields. From the holiday home you can set out directly on walking and cycling routes. Drenthe is famous for its extensive network of trails, charming villages and historic sites such as the ancient megalithic tombs (hunebeds). Particularly worth mentioning are the large forest areas (Boswachterijen) nearby: Schoonloo, Grolloo–Hooghalen (known as the “Heart of Drenthe”), and Gieten–Borger on the Hondsrug ridge.

The region also offers plenty of leisure activities: swimming lakes, climbing and adventure parks, horse riding and cultural excursions. In Assen, the Drents Museum showcases unique archaeology and art, while in Emmen you can visit Wildlands Adventure Zoo. Quaint restaurants, cafés and ice cream parlours in surrounding towns such as Westerbork, Borger and Rolde complete the experience.
