Cozy 3BR Cottage in Pacific Heights

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

3 BR, 2 BA Cottage - Excellent Location!

This darling cottage (with gourmet kitchen & heated patio) is perfectly located 1.5 blocks off Fillmore Street; steps from fine dining, high end shops, neighborhood eateries, a gourmet grocery store, public transport, and one of the city's best parks.

The Space

On the main level of this single family home, you'll find a newly renovated gourmet kitchen with counter seating for 3-4 that opens to a light-filled living room on one side and directly to the rear, a unique covered heated patio (complete with Lynx grill) with a dining table that can seat 10 comfortably .

Two bedrooms (master with a queen bed, and a kid's room with a twin bed) and a full bathroom with tub complete the main floor.

Downstairs is the third bedroom / den, with pullout couch, built in stereo and flat screen tv, and a newly remodeled 3/4 bath (stand up shower, no tub). The washer / dryer are on this level.

What makes this home so unique is its perfect location: 1.5 blocks from Fillmore Street, 1/2 - 1.5 blocks to 3 bus lines, 1.5 blocks South of Alta Plaza park, and a quiet setting. New double-paned windows, no upstairs or downstairs neighbors, and this one block alley (with little to no traffic) ensure that you'll have a peaceful night's sleep after exploring all that this city has to offer.

Guest Access

You'll have full use of the house, including washer/dryer, gas grill, internet, tv, etc. Please note that this is our primary residence and there will be clothes in the drawers and closets, as well as food items.

Interaction with Guests

If anything should arise, we will be accessible via cell, email, or text; likely 1.5 hours outside of SF in the Napa Valley at our weekend home. We have close neighbors on standby who can help in an emergency.

The Neighborhood

With a Walk Score of 98 out of 100, this house is the perfect home base for your San Francisco trip. Less than 2 blocks from the famous upper Fillmore corridor and exciting shops, as well as fine dining coupled with local eateries, plus easy public transportation, means the city is at your fingertips - literally. Restaurants like Pizzeria Delfina, SPQR, Out the Door (Slanted Door's Pacific Heights foray), Via Veneto, Woodhouse, ROAM, The Grove, Elite Cafe, Bun Mee, Chouquet, Troya, Jane, and Bistro Florio are a just a few blocks away.

Shopping destinations include Black Sheep (Brooks Brothers' avant-garde label), Design within Reach, Mark Jacobs, Alice + Olivia, Benefit, Heidi Says, Elizabeth Charles, Kiehls, and MAC. There are two Starbucks and a Peets Coffee within 2 blocks, as well as a Mollie Stone's (gourmet grocery store) within a block.

You are one and a half blocks from San Francisco's Alta Plaza park, with other walkable neighborhoods nearby including the Marina, Cow Hollow, Presidio Heights, and Lower Fillmore (Japantown).

Getting around

Three major bus lines are 0.5 to 1.5 blocks away from our home, and offer easy access down to the Marina, the Haight, downtown, Presidio Heights, etc.

Taxis frequently pick up on California or Fillmore Streets (~1 block away) and Uber is always very quick for a ride to the airport.

You really don't need a car in this neighborhood, but free street parking is available on the weekends with no time limits (2 hour max during the week, without permit), there is a metered lot within 1/2 block, and a covered pay garage about 5 blocks away.

Other Things to Note

We love our little home and hope you'll enjoy your stay. Please let us know what we can do to make you more comfortable!

Perfect location and lovely and spacious back porch!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was perfect for our needs. The rooms are spacious on both floors. The back porch was great; we used it for lunch, but also ended up sitting out there with friends all afternoon as it was quiet, private, and easy to access. Additionally, the kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to make and serve a large meal. Finally, communication with Neil was easy. He went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and answer any questions. When the cleaning staff finished early on the day of our arrival, he let us enter the property early. Overall, we were very happy. Thank you!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This was our favorite rental on a two week trip renting by owner. After traveling for two weeks in many different locations and units these are the things I appreciated most:

LOCATION, can not be beat. Quiet street in the middle of the city. VERY Clean. Outdoor patio was amazing. Two bathrooms, a big plus when traveling with another couple. Another thing I really like is that is was very organized. They had a printout of anything and everything you could think of or need. The bottle of wine was so sweet when we arrived. I hope they keep renting because we will be back actually I can't wait!

Awesome family friendly stay!

  • 5 of 5

After 4 nights of schlepping our 1 and 3 year olds around to various non kid friendly locations, Neil and Chris's home was such a welcome treat! The location is incredible, literally steps from Fillmore and various bus lines, the incredible Alta Plaza park and Molly Stones grocery store. Having lived in the city for 12 years, it's nice to be able to stay in a local neighborhood and really feel apart of the city. The house itself is adorable, easily baby proofed with tons of great toys for the kids. The kitchen is workable and the outdoor space is cozy. The little personal touches like the bottle of wine left for us and the clever keyless entry just add to the experience. The home sits on a quiet little alley and the neighbors were sweet and always chatted with our boys every time we left the house. We had our mini van with us and easily found parking the handful of times we drove somewhere (which wasn't much because the busses were so convenient!) We will definitely be back!

Exceptional Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

This place is gorgeous. Very clean and centrally located. I can't say enough kind things about the owners. They were so gracious in every aspect: told us to help ourselves to any food found in the refrigerator, assured us that our 19 month old could play with any and all of their child's toys, quickly responded to all of our questions and concerns; allowed us to store our luggage in the garage until check-in time at 3:00; sent us a wealth of information about their home and the surrounding area. We were a party of 4 with a baby visiting our son and daughter-in-law. There was so much room to visit and the outdoor patio was a real bonus not to mention so pretty. The patio even has an outdoor heater for those chilly San Francisco evenings. The kitchen was up-dated and equipped with all the essentials one might need and their were plenty of towels for both bathrooms which I always appreciate. Took the bus every where as the bus stops are all so close. 20 minutes to The Ferry Building. Great restaurants nearby. Only complaint: the downstairs room is huge with its own bathroom which is very convenient and lovely; but, the fold out couch bed we found uncomfortable. Overall this home in Pacific Heights is highly recommended.
