Cozy 3BR Cottage in Pacific Heights

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

3 BR, 2 BA Cottage - Excellent Location!

This darling cottage (with gourmet kitchen & heated patio) is perfectly located 1.5 blocks off Fillmore Street; steps from fine dining, high end shops, neighborhood eateries, a gourmet grocery store, public transportation, and one of the city's best parks.

The Space

On the main level of this single family home, you'll find a newly renovated gourmet kitchen with counter seating for 3-4 that opens to a light-filled living room on one side and directly to the rear, a unique covered heated patio (complete with Lynx grill) with a dining table that can seat 10 comfortably.

Two bedrooms (master with a queen bed, and a kid's room with a twin bed) and a full bathroom with tub complete the main floor.

Downstairs is the third bedroom / den, with pullout couch, built in stereo and flat screen tv, and a newly remodeled 3/4 bath (stand up shower, no tub). The washer and dryer are on this level.

What makes this home so unique is its perfect location: 1.5 blocks from Fillmore Street, .5 to 1.5 blocks to 3 bus lines, 1.5 blocks South of Alta Plaza park, and a quiet setting. Double-paned windows, no upstairs or downstairs neighbors, and this one block alley (with little to no traffic) ensure that you'll have a peaceful night's sleep after exploring all that this city has to offer.

Guest Access

You'll have full use of the house, including washer/dryer, gas grill, internet, tv, etc. Please note that this is our primary residence and there will be clothes in the drawers and closets, as well as food items.

Interaction with Guests

If anything should arise, we will be accessible via cell, email, or text; likely 1.5 hours outside of SF in the Napa Valley at our weekend home. We have close neighbors on standby who can help in an emergency.

The Neighborhood

With a Walk Score of 98 out of 100, this house is the perfect home base for your San Francisco trip. Less than 2 blocks from the famous upper Fillmore corridor and exciting shops, as well as fine dining coupled with local eateries, plus easy public transportation, means the city is at your fingertips - literally. Restaurants like Pizzeria Delfina, SPQR, Out the Door (Slanted Door's Pacific Heights foray), Via Veneto, Woodhouse, ROAM, The Grove, Elite Cafe, Bun Mee, Chouquet, Troya, Jane, and Bistro Florio are a just a few blocks away.

Shopping destinations include Black Sheep (Brooks Brothers' avant-garde label), Design within Reach, Mark Jacobs, Alice + Olivia, Benefit, Heidi Says, Elizabeth Charles, Kiehls, and MAC. There are two Starbucks and a Peets Coffee within 2 blocks, as well as a Mollie Stone's (gourmet grocery store) within a block.

You are one and a half blocks from San Francisco's Alta Plaza park, with other walkable neighborhoods nearby including the Marina, Cow Hollow, Presidio Heights, and Lower Fillmore (Japantown).

Getting around

Three major bus lines are .5 to 1.5 blocks away from our home, and offer easy access down to the Marina, the Haight, downtown, Presidio Heights, etc.

Taxis frequently pick up on California or Fillmore Streets (~1 block away) and Uber is always very quick for a ride to the airport.

You really don't need a car in this neighborhood, but free street parking is available on the weekends with no time limits (2 hour max during the week, without permit), there is a metered lot within 1/2 block, and a covered pay garage about 5 blocks away.

Other Things to Note

We love our little home and hope you'll enjoy your stay. Please let us know what we can do to make you more comfortable!

Most hospitable stay in SF

  • 5 of 5

It was impressive how the hosts anticipate and try to accomodate to any possible need one may have during the stay. All the details plus the comfort of the house made it perfect for us. Plus, the location is amazing, and, the house has one of the greatests luxuries you can afford in SF: not dealing with the noises of neighbors above or below you. Looking forward to go back.

Perfect for our family and great location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great Thanksgiving stay in this cottage. The house is perfect for our family of 5 adults. We cooked our Thanksgiving meal and enjoyed it on the outside patio. The location is great, walk to grocery store and walk to many shops and restaurants. A very enjoyable and relaxing five days in San Francisco.

Great quiet street and comfortable place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We were very happy with our stay in San Francisco. The house was small but comfortable for four people. There were plenty of sleeping options available. The location was perfect on a "hidden side street" which offered a bit of calm and quiet in the middle of San Francisco. It was close to great restaurants, a park, ice cream and small shops to wander. The "hosts" were very helpful in leaving written information about the area and leaving a bottle of wine to enjoy our time there. The quirks of the place include an unusually highly placed refrigerator/freezer (which my wife had a hard time reaching) and figuring out the lighting (which was a little on the dark side). We would definitely stay there again if it was available the next time we are in SF.

Comfortable home in excellent location.

  • 5 of 5

Very much enjoyed our stay for the SF Marathon. Super convenient location right in Pac Heights, including access to Fillmore with a great variety of restaurants and grocery store just a couple blocks away. Remarkably quiet considering we were in the middle of the city. Used Lyft/Taxi and feet for all transportation and had no need for a car to get around.

Home was comfortable and great fit for the three of us. Was well equipped had we wanted to make any meals. Back patio was a nice addition, too.

Communication with owners was clear and helpful, including a text the day of arrival offering any last minute questions/concerns. Would certainly return!

Simply AMAZING!! More than location, location, location . . .

  • 5 of 5

The three most important things in real estate are here, along with an AMAZING space! We just got home tonight and I'm already missing this place . . . It worked very well for our family, having a son and daughter who are both late teens. Our son is off to college next year and he absolutely loved "his" space in the basement!

The house is located on a very short street that's only a couple of blocks long, so it was very quiet while still being in the midst of the city. We had a car, but once we found a parking space we kept it parked and just used Uber. There are lots of drivers and they're very affordable, certainly worth the price of not having to deal with parking.

The patio area is an awesome feature and we enjoyed eating outside when when we didn't want to go out. Though we were blessed with the best SF weather we've ever experienced, it still was windy/cold at times so the patio heater was much appreciated by the ladies.

It was nice having a market just a couple of blocks away that has everything you need in the way of food/drink. Lots of variety in deli/prepared items and a good selection of wine, liquor and beers, many from local craft breweries. We'll miss the convenience of Mollies!

Neil was very responsive and great to work with. Thank you for sharing your home with us! It was a critical link in a fantastic family experience of San Fran!!
