This is a magical little hideaway from the madding crowds
Pros: From the moment we arrived down an unmarked road, through the electric gates and up the dirt track driveway surrounded by oak trees, we knew this place was special. The one bedroom house was large enough for the two of us and our daughter who slept on the sofa bed, and full of rustic charm. Stone walls, tiny windows, antique furniture, rustic farmhouse table etc. The pool was really beautiful and we spent our time dipping in and out to cool off watching butterflies, dragonflies and tiny lizards come and go around us. What we really loved, apart from the incredible location, was the privacy we were given. The owners live in a property on the estate just visible from the house, but they left us completely alone to enjoy this little paradise as if it were our own. If you love peace and quiet amongst nature you'll love it here!
Cons: Not to take away from this wonderful place, but the bathroom has a strong odour which we suspect might be water pooling underneath the shower tray as we noticed that there is no sealant between the tray and the stone wall. We'd recommend to the owners to have this rectified as there are no windows in the bathroom to allow the smell to escape. Also perhaps add some lighting over the kitchen sink area - its very dark for washing up. The lighting could do with a general upgrade overall as the house is quite dimly lit at night. Also the two bedside table lamps had no bulbs so we had to resort to burning tealights. It's not dark, but it could be improved upon.
