About Ben

We built in 1980 as a family retreat and continue to use it as so.

What makes this house unique

Spectacular & Panoramic Views from the Hood Canal Beach House will totally whisk you away from the daily grind. The floor to ceiling windows brings the outdoors in and the nautical ambiance will have you craving to explore our public beaches or kayak along our two rivers.

We do have a mooring buoy in the bay in front of the house. It is labeled with a big 'A'. Since we are located on the Duckabush River delta your boat may not be accessible at tides under 3.0'. Please be mindful of the tides. Do not try to access your boat when moored at the buoy by walking out to it, you will get stuck in the mud.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Saw Herons, Eagles and the savagely of nature – when our lovely Eagle swooped over the Heron & tried to yank the fish right out of his beak. Feathers all ruffled, famished the heron goes right back to looking for a new fish. Great Dinner @ TimberHouse! **** 4 Stars!

A Charming and Comfortable Olympic Penninsula Homebase

  • 5 of 5

We loved the house and property! Access to the beach was great, as was the proximity to great trailheads and parks. I spent every sunrise out on the deck watching the Canal while sipping coffee. The house was well-stocked; we didn't want for anything! Beds were comfortable and the kitchen very functional.

Thanks for sharing your home with us, we would definitely book again, and would encourage our friends to do the same.

We loved it!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I with our two children ages (13 & 15) stayed here for almost 2 full weeks. The house is comfortable, fully stocked with the basics, and comes with a beautiful view and space to enjoy the outdoors. We enjoyed exploring the beach every day, eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner outside, and making Smores by the fire pit at night. The only downside was there is no washer/dryer and no laundromat accessible to public near by. We opted to drive into Poulsbo to do our laundry on the weekend bc there us plants to walk around and do while your laundry is cleaning. This was the perfect place to relax, and explore nature. We took many drives and hikes around all the local parks and have great memories and pictures of mountains, lakes, big beautiful rocks, elk, waterfalls, and flowers. Definitely recommend if these things interest you.

Nice place!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice house with an incredible view. Trails parks waterfalls all within easy distances. Bed was extremely comfortable (upstairs loft) with a great morning view and vibe. We did pack expecting a washer and dryer; oops didn't notice they weren't listed but dealt fine without one! The neighbor houses are extremely close but we weren't bothered by that or them. Very happy with our choice!

Peaceful & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this property for five nights during the month of June while we were in town for a family reunion. We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the area. Spent several mornings watching the seals and bald eagles off the shoreline. This home is in a great location for spending quality time outdoors. Well furnished and clean with quiet neighbors. Our family had a great time!
