Great Large House in Tahoe Donner

Great large house with ski lodge/bear theme. Large open space on main floor with beautiful fireplace, large sectional, long dining table, and kitchen with lots of counter space accommodated our large family reunion with ease. We enjoyed our mornings on the scenic main floor deck which overlooks a naturally landscaped backyard with a view of the golf course fairway. The teenaged kids enjoyed the foosball table in the playroom. The bedrooms were roomy and the beds comfortable. The cabin was clean, unlike a couple of rentals other family members had. The rental comes with 6 guest passes that offer access to the association’s pools and beach access with a daily fee.If available for next year’s reunion, we will be staying here!

Peaceful location

Ideal for winter family fun!

The house offered one of our best VRBO experiences. We love Truckee for both summer and winter vacations, and this was our best house rental. The kitchen was outstanding and let us cook many family meals and desserts. The kids loved the foosball table and backyard for snow play. It was a short drive to ski resorts. It snowed heavily in the preceding days, and the roads and driveway were plowed well enough that we didn’t need chains and we appreciated having the 2 car garage. The beds were very comfortable! I will definitely mark this as a favorite for a future trip!

Wonderful stay in really nice cabin

We were a large family and had a wonderful stay at the cabin. It is located in Truckee (avoiding a lot of traffic in getting to the lake) close to a number of ski resorts. The house is nicely setup, has a very well stocked kitchen, lots of games and toys for kids and enough space for a large family. The hosts were also very responsive and check-in etc. were a breeze. Would definitely come back here when visiting Tahoe / Truckee.

White Christmas

We arrived a few day before our family so we could get organized and have everything decorated in the Christmas Spirit once they arrived...One of my bucket list items has always been to have our immediate family experience Christmas in the snow. It was perfect in every way. The Cabin was warm and cozy with a great floor plan for a large group. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and a large kitchen table of which accommodated us perfectly. Great location, driveway and street snow plowing of which made things so easy to come and go. Christmas Eve morning we awoke to snowing from light flurries to huge flakes of which led to a foot of snow, from building snowmen to sledding we wanted for nothing. Thank you to our hostess and family for sharing your cabin and creating memories of a lifetime.Happy New Year and many blessings in 2025

An AMAZING Property - and Owner

The property was fully consistent with its VRBO summary. Well-maintained, spacious, perfect for dinners with a large family with a great dining table (12), bar (3) and adjacent round table (4). Loved our stay!

The house is wonderful for family gatherings. We had three families in our group. We loved how spacious the living, dining and kitchen areas are, and we loved hanging out around the large dining table. It’s really nice that each room has its own full bathroom with two of the rooms having en suite bathrooms. The location is great. The house is on a quiet street that is fun and easy to bike ride and walk around with little ones. We also really appreciated the Tesla charger in the garage and the easy communication with Susan. A great stay!

Great stay for a large group

We had 6 adults and 4 young children in our group and stayed 3 nights. The kitchen and common spaces were large enough to fit us all comfortably even with the kids running around. The kitchen was well equipped with double ovens, large gas stove, plenty of prep space and working dishwasher. The backyard was a fun place for snow play. Check in and check out were easy. Overall we had a blast and would stay here again.

Home away from home

We rented the property the week before Christmas. The kitchen was well supplied. My only suggestion would be to have some Kleenex in the bathrooms and a spare roll of paper towels. Other than that, I do not have one complaint. We even got snow!

Fantastic home

We were fortunate enough to enjoy a winter wonderland while staying at this beautiful home. The kitchen is large and well stoked making it easy to cook our meals. The location is wonderful and the backyard opens up to the golf course. This gave us plenty of room to enjoy the snow!. The house was in great shape and is spacious and relaxing. When the kids were tired of the snow we had great fun playing foosball. This will be a repeat location for us.

Magical Family Christmas!

We loved our stay at this big, beautiful, well appointed mountain home in a wonderful location! 7 of us came for Christmas and we hosted 5 more local Truckee family members Christmas Day and twice for dinners around the massive dining table!! It’s an easy drive into town and there are fabulous walks and hikes right from the front door, not to mention beautiful views. We had one question while we were there and the Host was very responsive. I’d love to go back in the Summer some day! Thank you for a lovely stay!!

Beautiful house but a few hiccups.

The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The size was perfect and worked well for our group. Unfortunately, the owner notified us immediately before we arrived that the gas fireplace wasn’t working. Not only was this disappointing because we were looking forward to using it, the power went out for 12 hours and we had no heat source, so the house became very cold. In the same communication, the owner also notified us that one of the ovens wasn’t available because it has a cracked door. This was also inconvenient because we were cooking for 10 people and really needed both ovens. Overall we did have a wonderful time but it would have been nice if these things were fixed before our arrival.

Nice place to stay during the winter

We spent our weekend here during a winter storm and it felt like a winter wonderland! The house and backyard was spacious and we didn’t have to drive to enjoy the snow. The only issue we had was that there were droppings from rodents in the house. We messaged the owner and she was very responsive and apologetic and stated that she would have an exterminator come out as soon as possible. It wasn’t a huge deal to us, however others may feel differently about the situation.

Absolutely beautiful area perfect to enjoy outdoor adventures and find time to relax with family and friends. The home is spacious and clean! Large kitchen with great amenities. Close to Donner Lake, Lake Tahoe, and a ton of great hiking and biking trails. We had an incredible week and we will definitely look to come back!!!

My family purchased this vacation home in 2001 because we loved to ski and spend family vacations in Tahoe. We loved the Tahoe Donner Ski Area when the kids were learning to ski and the convenience of a 5 minute drive. We like the convenience of Northstar, Squaw, and Alpine resorts are so close. We live in the Bay Area so it's a quick trip to the mountains and the relaxation of a beautiful home. The amenities are exceptional too!

This home provides a tranquil peace from the moment you enter the door. We have employed the same property management service for over 15 years and they specialize in full cleaning service. Upstairs the great room combines a mountain home spaciousness with fun game table and kitchen conversation. You can be cooking in the kitchen, chat with friends sitting at the counter bar stools, and watch the fire sparkle in the fireplace. Amenities galore - there are lots of activities to choose from. In the backyard is a level lot to play in snow in the winter and create your own sledding hills, use our provided sleds. In the summertime, sit on the deck and watch the golfers go by from the backyard decks. Make a tee time and join in the fun! In the summer, horseshoe pit is out back.
