Wonderful House

  • 5 of 5

This was a GREAT house for our family of four (with two grown sons - they each got their own room). We visited in July 2016, and the house was fantastic - so comfortable, with a great layout, wonderful feel, and a perfect location on a nice cul-de-sac but just minutes away from the beach and town. And the views from the upper bedroom were simply amazing - both mountain and ocean views. This was one of the favorite rentals we have had in Hanalei,a nd we have been here many times. And Kauai Island Vacations was SO helpful - letting us check in early to move refrigerated things from one rental to another - Joanne and her gang were so wonderful and accommodating. Mahalo!

Wonderful Vacation Rental in Hanalei

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful vacation rental in December 2015 along with her parents and our 1 year old son. The place was absolutely wonderful. Great location for walking to town, beach or pavilion. The open floor plan on the main floor is excellent, but most importantly this house has everything you need to complete your beach vacation in Hanalei. From beach chairs, shade, toys, boogie boards, etc. - everything is provided and all you need to do is bring yourself and your family. The grounds outside the house are well-maintained, and we particularly liked the wild orchids growing on the trees just outside the door. We have been coming to Hanalei for the better part of 10 years and this is the best place we have stayed so far. Strongly recommend this property and will book again next year! Thank you to Kauai Island Vacations for making this rental seamless as well. Aloha!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this place for our honeymoon in Oct 2015. The location is excellent and the house is beautiful. I strongly recommend this property.

The property manager had one of her staff meet us when we arrived to answer questions, which is a nice touch. The house was as-advertised, was cool enough during the warm Kauai nights, has nice views, a beautiful 2nd-floor bedroom, and provided a wonderful central location to do and see the North Shore. The kitchen was more-than-adequate for home cooking and was well-stocked on small items from previous guests.

In short, I strongly recommend this place and would rent it again upon returning to Kauai.

A Hanalei Dream Birthday

  • 5 of 5

CONTEXT - To celebrate my birthday I wanted my family to experience my favorite place, Hanalei. Having visited many times before and stayed in other towns, it was evident to me that the northern town of Hanalei with its morning showers (have never stayed in summer) and afternoon sun suited me perfectly as does the small town atmosphere.

PROPERTY - The house was perfect for our little family including a couple, elderly mother and adult son. We each had our own room and lanai with spectacular unobstructed views of Bali Hai in the master bedroom at the top of the stairs. I could not have imagined a more magnificent view to wake up to every morning! The kitchen, BBQ, lenais, outdoor shower and bathrooms all suited the house and added to our experience of a home away from home. We even used the bikes to ride to the beach and around town.

BEACH - The beach was also so close, within feet of the house, so walking there even with my elderly mom took only 5 minutes. This area has a gazebo and is where the lifeguard is situated. Usually it is a great beach to learn surfing or paddle boarding for children & adults. We had a couple windy days with bigger waves and a couple calm days with little wind and gorgeous clear skies.

SERVICE - The rental agency and their staff were professional and the communication clear and very helpful. When a screen fell out one blustery morning they sent a handyman promptly. Since this is a tropical paradise, there are mosquitos which love me but all the screens were on every window, and since there was no holes I was properly protected. The fans, breezes and levered windows kept the house relatively cool too!

I would definitely return to Hanalei and this property should I be lucky enough to return someday!

Can I go back? Please?

  • 5 of 5

For those of you reading the reviews on this house and wondering if you should stay here for your vacation, wonder no more! Literally, stop reading this review and go contact the property manager to book your stay.

Since I assume you took my advice and are no longer reading this, I can fill the rest of this review with random facts and tidbits about me that you really won't care about. Let's see:

- I pretend to surf. The house is located a two-minute walk away from a lovely beach break...making my pretend surfing REALLY easy. I pretend stood up a bunch of times, while my wife pretended to cheer me on.

- I can throw a stone an average distance. Not too far, not too short. Luckily, I was able to test my stone throwing abilities at the house as I had read in previous reviews that the beach was a stone's throw away. When we got to the house, I found a real, nice, average stone and gave it an real, nice, average throw! Yup, I hit the beach. PRO TIP: Check for lifeguards and beach goers PRIOR to throwing stones.

- I eat food. Hanalei has great food options. A short morning walk to Hanalei Coffee Rosters for the Coco Mocha and a Papaya waffles was a great treat for this food eater. If you eat food too, I would recommend it.

- I am really focused on my hobby of sleeping. I literally do it EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. Luckily, I was truly able to excel at it thanks to the sounds of the ocean that I could hear from my bedroom each night.

- I like being comfortable. Sweat pants and a well-appointed kitchen is all that I need to make me, me. This place had spades (NOTE: I provided my own sweat pants). (BONUS: Laundry! What? Clean sweats every day? Yes please!)

Are you still reading? Seriously? Well, now that you know a bit about me, maybe we can be friends and I can come with you on your vacation to this amazing place? Thanks, I will await your invite and plane ticket in the mail!

In all seriousness though, all of the previous reviewers of this place are bang on. You will not regret it. I promise. You can trust me, I am Canadian after all.

You'll never want to leave

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for 10 days in February and had a perfect vacation in Hanalei. The house sits nestled back in a quiet circle and is impossibly close to the beach. My wife and I woke up in the upstairs master bedroom after arriving late the evening before (Read: in the pitch black) and were blown away with the incredible views. The windows offer a panoramic view of the mountains all the way to the ocean and stepping out onto the upper deck that first morning was truly a spectacular way to start a vacation. Words cannot describe what it’s like to settle into a vacation when you start out in a home like this...

The owners have prepared the house for nearly everything you'll need to enjoy the lifestyle in Hanalei. From a cart to haul everything you need to the beach, to a very well equipped kitchen and even a Ukulele... We made the majority of our meals at the house and the kitchen worked really well with a breakfast bar and large eat in dining area adjacent. There’s also a BBQ on the deck for awesome outdoor cooking.

We never turned on the TV but its there along with WiFi (Helped us check the weather, surf, restaurants etc) and the outdoor covered deck maximizes vacation time even when a little rain comes through as Kauai is known for.

- It really is steps from the heart of Hanalei Bay (2 Minute walk max. to the beach)

- Hanalei town is easily walk-able and heading in for a coffee and waffle at Hanalei Coffee Roasters quickly became a morning tradition

- Pats Taqueria at the Hanalei Pier is a "must" for lunch at least once and again it's well within walking distance

- Read the house binder when you get there- Great info on the house and the entire island. Tons of info to help plan out all the things to do.

- The Dolphin Restaurant also has a fish counter at the back- Great place to pick up fresh fish to throw on the BBQ back at the house

- Grab a sunset drink/dinner up at the St. Regis- Great overhead view of the bay and world class sunsets!
