Upon arrival we were approached by a homeless person asking us for food. There were 2 overstuffed garbage cans in the front yard. The air conditioner didn't work, the refrigerator didn't work, there were roaches in the kitchen. The door to the laundry room was removed so if we wanted to do laundry it would have made it hotter and noisy. There were missing lightbulbs everywhere. The pool had large chuncks of marcite missing. There wouldn't have been enough towels for the amount of people the house slept. The shower in the downstairs bathroom didn't work. The banister going upstairs was broken. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We left and went to a hotel. SHAME ON THIS PROPERTY MANAGER!!!!!!!!!!!
The property was nice. There was plenty of room to spread out. The bedrooms were big.
Only 15 - 20 minutes from Atlanta!
The floors needed to be cleaned.
Had a Great Time
The house is huge and has room for a lot of people and is pet friendly. It was clean when we arrived and the pool was pristine. The kitchen was updated and had most of what you would need for your stay. I do suggest adding a decent can opener, a dish towel and dish cloth and more dishes and silverware. There was enough for 6 without washing dishes. Laundry soap and dish soap was provided along with extra trash bags. We really enjoyed the outdoor area with my son and his wife and the property was really close to Decatur Square which was awesome. My stepdaughter lives in Sandy Springs which is the reason we came and she was just a jump on the highway and 15 minute drive. All in all we had a great time at the property. We did see two cockroaches but being from NY I am not sure if that is to be expected in Georgia. The air conditioner worked great. It was in the high 80s and 90s and it kept the house very comfortable. We were there for 4 nights and the weather was great. I found myself wanting to just stay at the house by the pool all day...which is what we did. The fenced in yard was a big plus. Plenty of hot water for showers!
We drove up and all the garbage cans were full and sitting out on the driveway. No exactly an attrac
The backyard is beautiful! We loved that. Lots of bedrooms, no trash cans anywhere but in the kitchen. Not very homey. Some of the lamps had no bulbs or no covers. Disappointing.
My favorite Homeaway!!
The added on room was a great ideal. The last time we stayed the carport was their. The property was great and we will stay there again in the future.
Nice pool area but wouldn't stay again
Overall we had a great time at the house but it wasn't quite the dream experience we were expecting. Despite the few mishaps, we still had a good time and the property manager was very responsive and accommodating.
We booked the property (7 months in advance) because the listing said it was walking distance to downtown Decauter and the pool. A few days before arrival we received the address of the property and realized it was 5 miles from downtown. Contacted the owner who said it must have been a typo and removed the verbiage from the listing.
Arrived at the house and the pool was dirty with sand in the bottom. Called the property manager who said it should have been cleaned and she'll send someone over. A few hours later 2 repairmen show up and start sledgehammering the concrete and digging up the filter by the pool. They were there all night and left to return the next day. Showed up the next day and spent another 5 hours by the pool, pouring new concrete and fixing the filter. When they left, they advised us not to use the pool the remainder of the day. So right off the bat, we lost 2 days of the pool that we weren't expecting and had repairmen in and out of the backyard. Property manager was shocked that all this was happening and was nice enough to refund one of our nights, but still upsetting.
Overall, the house was very spacious and slept a number of people comfortably. Presume there had been lots of parties there in the past as several neighbors came up to me and said there is usually a lot of cars there on weekends and can they stop by for the next party.
Inside needs a fresh coat of paint but house was comfortable. Was very bare though and only provided the min. necessities. Bring your own coffee, shampoo, soap, etc.
Advertises it sleeps 14 and has enough beds to accommodate 14, but only enough large plates for 4 people. After every meal, we had to wash the dishes. No dish towels to wipe your hands on. No pool towels were given and only 2 bath towels per room was provided. House needs doormats so the outdoors isn't tracked in so easily, as you're constantly in and out. Needs pest control. Converted garage had tons of dead bugs scattered throughout it.
