About the property

Nature Lovers Farmhouse

Dreaming of a very relaxing vacation in a private, quiet place, with lots of activities nearby?

Our three-story Victorian farmhouse is the perfect place to spend time in the Hudson Highlands. Located in the Village of Cornwall on Hudson, near all the best that the Hudson Valley can offer, the house is part of a 46-acre retreat center.

The house is cozy, rustic but very clean and comfortable all year long. Overlooking Storm King Mountain, a state park on the Hudson River, the house is surrounded by beautiful woods and meadows that include hiking trails that connect with the trails leading to the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum and to the top of Storm King Mountain.

Deer, wild turkey, birds and foxes are regularly seen roaming our grounds.

A labyrinth for walking meditation or simply for walking in a beautiful setting invites personal reflection or simple relaxation. Inquire about what’s fresh in the organic vegetable garden.

The house is five minutes from the center of Cornwall on Hudson and its restaurants, parks at the Hudson river, kayak and canoe rentals, and other amenities. A twice-weekly farmer’s market is five minutes away. A short drive will take you to one of the most beautiful outdoor sculpture parks, the Storm King Art Center and the 3,850 acre Black Rock Forest Preserve. West Point Academy is only 15 - 20 minutes away. Just across the river, DIA Beacon is also a great attraction for art lovers.

For shoppers, Woodbury Commons Outlet is also only 20 minutes away!

The farmhouse features a first floor with kitchen, dining room, living room, den, and one full bathroom, a second floor with four bedrooms (one with a queen size bed, one with two single beds and two with a single bed) and a bathroom, and a third floor, as large as the entire house, with four single beds. All bedrooms have fans or air conditioning. A charming front porch and a huge backyard surrounded by woods invites you to relax after a day of hiking or exploring the Hudson Valley with its many hiking trails, parks, and charming villages and towns.

Ideal for family, friends or small group retreats. Open year round.

Give yourself and those you love the gift of peace, natural beauty, rest and renewal.

West Point Convenience

  • 5 of 5

We were in the area for a West Point report date for our son. We spent 5 days exploring the area and preparing for his report. The property was very conveniently located for our multiple trips to the Military Academy. The town of Cornwall was great ... we found several nice restaurants and enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks show.

Deer in the Backyard!!

  • 5 of 5

After spending the day in NYC, our family felt that it was worth the drive to Cornwall to stay in the evening and relax. Also we like to wake up to beautiful peaceful surrounding in the morning, especially to see deer in the backyard and in the road in front of the house when we take a walk. We would have given the house a 4-star as it does not have a washer-dryer, but the deer makes up for everything. It is an older home but it is quite spacious for our large group. The kitchen is dated, but adequate to make small meals. We do wonder how it would be later in the summer, but during our stay in June the house was pleasantly cool without central air. It is about an hour drive when we took 87-S to the northernmost subway station to NYC which is the Van Cortlandt Park where we parked at 231st (Riverdale parking lot) and took the subway into NYC - quite convenient!! The house is also quite near to Blue Cliff Monastery. The hostess, Ms. Simonetta, was very nice and helpful throughout the process of booking and during our stay.

Great House. Great Location.

  • 4 of 5

We rented the house for two families for our West Point reunion. Everything about the house was great - it is a good location close to the Academy. There is lots of outdoor space for our kids to play. And Simonetta was extremely easy to work with from planning through arrival and staying in the house. There is a lot of space, with multiple bedrooms and beds. The only drawback to the sleeping arrangements is there is only one double bed, making it harder to share the house with two families - but definitely workable. Overall, the house is a convenient place to stay for activities in the Hudson Valley and a very pleasant reservation experience. We had a great time.

We'd Happily Stay Again

  • 5 of 5

This large and well-equipped house was a perfect lodging for a group of nine who came to Cornwall-on-Hudson for a family memorial service. We were three sisters, two husbands, the daughters of two of the sisters, and the husband and two children of one of the daughters. A big and rambunctious group, but we never felt crowded or uncomfortable. Four of the five bedrooms had single beds, and one had a queen. The kitchen was well-stocked, and the price was right. The property manager, Simonetta Romano, could not have done a better job. She accommodated our every request, including letting us check in early and sending back a frying pan one occupant inadvertently left behind.
