Rustic Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is great value for the money to truly get away and into the great outdoors. There is plenty of rafting, tubing, fly fishing, hiking in the area. I truly appreciated being away from internet & tv. This is truly a cabin on the river. I enjoyed the sound of the river, having breakfast on the back deck, and evenings by the fire pit. The kitchen has all the basics cookware and everything needed to prepare a meal. The Chattoga Fly Shop is 15 minutes away and can put you on delayed harvest trout water. If you are looking for a true getaway and get back to nature this is a perfect choice.

Real Rest and Relaxation

  • 5 of 5

My wife, kids and I stayed here for a couple nights and enjoyed every minute of it.

I love the Chattooga area and the fishing is great. The cabin had everything we needed and nothing we didn't. We loved the true escape it provided from the hectic world we live in and appreciated the opportunity to truly get away.

I am glad our children were able to experience so many different things while being there. My son caught his first fish, a rainbow trout on a fly rod. There was no distraction from multiple screens, ipad, cell phone, computer or video games; just the great outdoors. We got to see the Tallulah gorge which was fascinating. My wife was able to sit next to the river and catch up on some reading while our daughter played in the river while my son and I fished.

We had some of the best food we've ever had at a true hole-in-the-wall bbq joint called the Wicked Pig. It's technically in the back of a flea market in Clayton. The brisket melt was great, along with the brisket burger, brisket plate, wings,(wing night is Friday night and Saturday is steak night! 16oz ribeye) onion rings, fries and fried okra were all amazing. We loved it so much on Friday night we didn't think twice about where to eat on Saturday so we went back.

This place is a real gem and a such a treat to be able to stay at.

Thank you so much from the Spencer family for providing such a great time.

We will for sure be back, already talked about a return trip.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We have been fishing the Chattooga River for several years and stayed in a number of cabins in the area. This is by far the best cabin and area we have found. It was clean and furnished beautiful. The fishing wasn't too good this weekend but it was a most enjoyable mini vacation. The weather was perfect. But a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work.We will definatly stay here again. Thanks for a great getaway

Owner's Response: John, thank you very much for the kind words! We're so glad you all enjoyed your stay; however, I'm sorry the fishing wasn't better this past weekend. As you say though...It's definitely better than a day at work! You are welcome to come back any time! Thank you once again!!

One of the most wonderful places!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was such a wonderful place to spend time with my children. The river is right next to cabin. Trees surround you. It is peaceful. My children swam in the river. We fished. We found a classic swimming hole just down the river with a rope you could swing out over the river and jump in.

The cottage is perfect. All the pictures in the description are accurate, but being there is so much more beautiful. New kitchen I think. It seems to be newly remodeled.

We watched a couple of movies. But one night I asked my children to cover their ears and walk out onto the porch. We went to the picnic table. They uncovered their ears and all the night sounds flooded into their hearing. They were shocked and filled with wonder. We looked up through the trees to see the stars. It was a stunning experience.

Eric will help you with any questions you may have. I recommend this cottage for a small family-5. Also, this would make for a romantic get-a-way or for two couples.

I will be returning Eric! Thank you.
