Although we (the owners) handle all bookings, Beachcomber’s Paradise is professionally maintained by Little Cayman Property Management which is owned and operated by Marc Pothier and his team. Marc has decades of resort and vacation property management experience in the Caribbean and has been the manager of the Paradise Villas resort on Little Cayman for the past 18 years. Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by our team, checked into your rental vehicle and escorted to the house for a brief orientation. On your departure you can be taken back to the airport if need be. Marc and his team are also on island and available 24/7 if and when needed.

THE 'FRIENDLIEST' ISLAND: Little Cayman is best known for its diving, fishing, snorkeling, and internationally protected bird sanctuaries. Jacques Cousteau rated the Bloody Bay dive site on the north west end as his #3 Best Dive Site in the World! The Cayman Islands have also been rated as the friendliest place in the world to visit by Forbes Magazine. Little Cayman Island lies 85 miles east of Grand Cayman, 450 miles south of Miami and 120 miles south of Cuba. The weather from December through May is consistent and reliable, averaging to 80 to 85 degrees with nice island breezes. The island is only 1 mile wide and 10 miles long and is remarkably undeveloped and under populated. There are only 170 full time residents.

LITTLE CAYMAN DIVING: There are four top notch dive operations with nice boats to choose from on Little Cayman. All are very good. Conch Club Divers is independent of any resort and enjoys good reviews. Email them at: From US (832) 460 9127 On Island (345) 948 1026

Pirate's Point, Southern Cross and Little Cayman Beach resort are the other dive operations. Reservations and advanced booking is recommended for all diving.

Diving Highlights:

1. World famous Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park with magnificent wall diving.

2. Turtles, Spotted Eagle Rays, Reef Sharks, Nassau Groupers, Moray Eels, Stingrays, Schools of Horse-Eye Jacks, Barracuda, Seahorses and much more!

3. 100's of different hard and soft corals and over 500 types of fish.

4. Incredible visibility & usually 100 to 150 feet, with little or no current.

5. Warm water... Winter 78 to 80 (F), Summer 82 to 86 (F).

TRANSPORTATION AND VEHICLE RENTAL: The home is located 7 miles from Blossom Village and the airport. There is NO public transportation on Little Cayman. Transportation from the airport on your arrival date and back to the airport on your departure date are included in the rates. You will need to rent scooters or a rental car for the rest of your stay----bicycling the 7 miles each way to and from Blossom Village, shopping and the restaurants is not recommended except for the most adventuresome and athletic visitors. There are two car rental companies on Little Cayman Island: We recommend Little Cayman Car Rentals run by Carla Reid phone: (345) 948 1000 or email also rent scooters. Bruce Miller aka 'Scooter Bruce' (345) 916 4971 rents scooters too, but only in the high season and he delivers scooters to you.

BICYCLE RENTAL: Email Marc Pothier for pricing and reservations. Delivery of bicycles to the house is available.

FISHING: On a fishing charter, the catch could be tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi, grouper, snapper, kingfish and the occasional sailfish depending on the season and what you’re targeting. Fly fishing for bonefish, tarpon, and permit in the shallow waters and inland brackish lakes is also popular. There are charters available for blue water-deep sea fishing as well as guides for fly fishing. Call or email us for information, pricing and recommendations.

RESTAURANTS: There are 4 good restaurants on the island, each associated with the five resorts on the island. Prices range from moderate: Hungry Iguana; and to expensive: Pirates' Point, Southern Cross and Little Cayman Beach Resort.

GETTING THERE. You will first need to fly to Grand Cayman which most major carriers service. From Grand your only option is to take a 25 minute (90 mile) flight on Cayman Airways to Little Cayman which is $151.00 USD for a round trip ticket. We recommend that you book a 2 hour layover on Grand so you can be sure to make the Cayman Airways flight to Little Cayman if your flight to Grand is delayed.

You will not be disappointed in our home and accommodations and Little Cayman Island as a memorable getaway!

Warm Regards,

Kammy and Brian

About Brian Essi

Being avid divers, snorkelers, beachcombers, and fisherman/fishing woman, we love getting away from it all and back to nature. All three of our children are also divers and love the water.

Brian Essi purchased this house in 2013

Why Brian Essi chose Cayman Islands

After decades of traveling and diving throughout the Caribbean, we found that when we returned to many places years later, they were somewhat ruined by high rises and too many tourists. Little Cayman is in a time warp but still has most of the amenities of more developed places. We chose Little Cayman Island for a number of reasons. 1. Great diving, fishing, snorkeling and beach-combing. 2. The island is clean, well preserved and underdeveloped--no large resorts and no cruise ships. 3. No crime: there is law and order here and a good government---very safe--also, medical services on island and a world class hospital close by on Grand Cayman. 4. Our house is on the quite side of the island and its like having miles of sand beach all to ourselves yet we can go to the restaurants if we don't feel like cooking.

What makes this house unique

Beautiful, peaceful, safe and remote. Everyone who lives, works and visits here is genuinely happy to be here. How refreshing and unique is that from what you may experience elsewhere.

The perfect place to be - wish I could add pictures - it is what you see times 10.

Where to begin. The snorkeling on the reef is amazing. We saw so many fish, conch, lobster, eagle ray(!), turtles, starfish, even a really lazy nurse shark and and a barracuda or two. Amazing diversity just off the beach from the house. Quiet. We saw a handful of boats go by during our week here and that was it. No jet skis, no paragliding, no constant buzz of boats flying by. At night you start to realize just how special it is to be in a place where there is ZERO light pollution, you couldn't see a light anywhere on the ocean. And OMG the stars. We live in the middle of the mountains and we thought we had great star gazing - very unexpectedly we were just totally blown away by the stars here. I packed a lot of stuff for this trip, and really wish I'd brought a telescope - but seeing the colors of the Orion nebula with our bird watching binoculars was just priceless. Next time we come here I'm going to time it during a new moon. Sunsets were wonderful. As much as we hated another day to go by, at the end of each day we were rewarded in spectacular style from the porch of the house. It really was quite delightful. The house is great. Everything just works. Heck, I might have to upgrade my fridge at home after using the one here. Great ice maker, the bag of ice we bought upon arrival went unused. The water tasted great too. :-)

It takes about 10-15 minutes to drive from here to the "center of town" where we had some good meals, did lots of grocery shopping, some diving, etc. Super easy drive, zero traffic. On the way in to town one morning I decided to listen to the car radio and got a station from Grand Cayman and they had a traffic report. LOL! I passed one car - that's the little Cayman traffic report. We visited the Little Cayman Museum where Tanja greeted us and also gave us a comprehensive look into the world of the Cayman Rock Iguana. Wonderful. The Gladys Howard Nature Trust visitor center was staffed by people who really knew their birds - highly educational. We ate at the bar at Little Cayman Beach resort twice. Hungry Iguana once for Indian food, and sushi night at Pirates Point. At Pirates Point you will be seated at a table with other diners and unfortunately we were seated with very poor company, on our last night there, sure wish we'd just stayed in and enjoyed this lovely location for one more night. Bravo Brian. Thanks for the beautiful, special, relaxing, paradise. We really couldn't be happier unless we'd stayed longer :-)

Incredible view, amazing home, with everything that you could want.

  • 5 of 5

We have made a tradition of taking our family on a trip for Christmas each year, we usually go to a different location each year and have been to some amazing places throughout the Caribbean, Mexico, and the US. Everyone in our family of 6 was asking if we could make Little Cayman our every year stop. The house is a great size, has lots of space, and an amazing kitchen, and has every item that you might possibly need. It's located right on the water and has some amazing snorkeling right in front of the house. With the water, and the view, I could have just sat on the back porch for the entire week and been happy. We were met at the airport by Marc and Peter and they were very helpful and informative about the island and the home. They provided bicycles for all of us that we were able to use throughout our stay. The island is incredibly beautiful and fun to explore. We did not dive this time and that is a big deal on Little Cayman, but we hope in the future to plan that into our trip. As you might expect being on a remote island things are more expensive, the restaurants and the items at the one store are a bit pricey but we were planning for that so it was no big deal. We visited all of the resorts on the island throughout the week and they were very welcoming and allowed us to use their facilities and restaurants. Since this is a review I do have to mention one small issue, the bedrooms do not have air conditioning in to them except for the master. While my wife and I slept like babies in the master bedroom, the other bedrooms could get a little warm at night. With all that said, we're already trying to book this house for this upcoming Christmas, so don't try. Ha-Ha. The reviews and pictures are all wonderful for this place, but you really have to experience it in person it's beautiful! Thank you so much Brian for sharing your home, and if you ever decide to sell it please let me know!

Amazing Views

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Brian for having a wonderful, comfortable house on Little Cayman. This was the most relaxing vacation ever. Waking up to the view, looking at the view while reading on the porch or enjoying the view while kayaking and shell-hunting on the beach..... We ate all but 4 dinners in the house and had everything we needed. Thanks to Mark (Property Manager) for taking lounge chairs to Point of Sand which we went to several times. The snorkeling at Point of Sand, over the Bloody Bay Wall and around Owen Island was great. Got a picture of a nurse shark, saw an eagle ray at the wall along with a Queen Triggerfish and too many barracudas! Overall if you want to "kind of" off of the grid with no agenda this is the place!

28 days in paradise...

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Brian and Kammy for sharing this amazing property with us. Your home is perfect!

The kitchen is fantastic, we ate most of our meals at home because the kitchen had every gadget we needed (my husband owns a restaurant so he knows the value of a great kitchen).

The house is open and welcoming with plenty of space for all our house guests. We loved the outdoor shower, biking around the island, sitting on the deck in the evening, the solitude, snorkeling 2-3 times a day, watching the wildlife...and rarely seeing anyone unless we drove to town.

We brought Vermont maple syrup, coffee and cheddar cheese, but other than that we did all of our shopping on the island. The store owner is very nice...things in the store are expensive, but it was very convenient.

Marc Pothier, the property manager, is excellent. He has been on the island for over 20 years, so he is knowledgeable and friendly.

We found the dive center at The Little Cayman Beach Resort to be very friendly and helpful. We rented equipment and did a shore dive at Jackson's Point...awesome! We also had lunch at the resort a few times and found the food to be quite good.

We highly recommend this home...we are already planning our next trip!
