About the property

12-bedroom, 16 bathrooms, 3 heated pools within minutes to beach and downtown

Nestled in the mountains above the road to Mismaloya and just minutes from downtown, Quinta Encantada is a secured, private complex with jaw-dropping views of Banderas Bay, the Sierra Madre Mountains and Puerto Vallarta’s Southside. Quinta Encantada is comprised of five luxury Villas under the same ownership, each with its own private entrance, unique style and panoramic view. Access to the beach is a short walk down the road, across the street to Calle Santa Barbara from which you can take the steps to Los Muertos beach or can continue on to Olas Altas and enter the beach adjacent to the newly-constructed pier. With over 20,000 sq. feet of living space, 12 air-conditioned bedrooms and three heated pools, Quinta Encantada’s five villas can be rented individually or together for larger groups and is the perfect entertaining and living space for vacations with family or friends, weddings, or corporate retreats.

Humberto, Quinta Encantada’s English-speaking house manager who lives on-site, will cater to your vacation needs (whether booking a tour, chartering a sailing or fishing excursion, making dinner reservations or arranging transportation). Maid service is provided daily (except Sundays and holidays). Chef services are available by request.

VILLA LEAH*: Villa Leah, Quinta Encantada’s 2-bedroom “penthouse,” enjoys 360 degree views that words cannot adequately describe. A covered deck that overlooks Quinta Encantada’s own “jungle” and popular Los Muertos Beach is a favorite spot to enjoy a meal or use the telescope to get a closer look at the action on the beach or the bay. Villa Leah’s front deck is perfect for lounging in the afternoon sun, watching whales playing in the bay, viewing the nightly fireworks or swimming in the heated pool that extends into the living and dining area. The covered rear deck is festooned with tropical plants and is the owners’ favorite spot to read while enjoying a cool breeze from the Sierra Madre Mountains. Villa Leah’s master bedroom has a king size bed, a dressing area and large master bath. The guest bedroom has a queen size bed and opens to a private outside terrace through large French doors. The living room has a sectional sofa, a separate sitting area with coffee table and chairs, a television cabinet and a wet bar. The walls of the dining area are adorned with Mexican art, while the dining table (seating 6) sits entirely under a glass skylight.

*Villa Leah is only available for groups that are renting all of Quinta Encantada’s villas.

VILLA EMILY: Each of Villa Emily’s 4 bedrooms has a private bathroom covered floor to ceiling in colorful Mexican tile. Three of the bedrooms have king size beds and the other a queen size bed. Villa Emily’s expansive living room has three separate sitting areas, a dining table (seating 8) and spectacular views of Banderas Bay and Puerto Vallarta’s Southside. A den that adjoins the master bedroom has a television and selection of paperbacks and opens to the heated pool it shares with Villa Samuel next door. The pool deck overlooks Banderas Bay and Quinta Encantada’s own “jungle” and is perfect for lounging in the mid-day sun or relaxing under the shade of the deck’s palapa.

VILLA GREGORY: Villa Gregory’s 2 bedrooms are on the top floor of this two-story villa. The larger of the two bedrooms has a spacious sitting area that overlooks the Bay and the private heated pool it shares with Villa Carter. Both bedrooms have a private bathroom covered floor-to-ceiling in colorful Mexican tile. Villa Gregory’s first floor has the kitchen with stool seating (for 4) at the kitchen counter, a walk-in pantry, a half-bathroom and a dining table (seating 8). The first floor living room area has a built-in couch with two loveseats and a second separate seating area overlooking the pool. The first floor also provides access to the pool deck where you can lounge in the afternoon sun or rest in the shade of the deck’s palapa.

VILLA CARTER: The 1-bedroom Villa Carter enjoys unobstructed views of the Bay and the city from the solitude of its private terrace. Inside, 8 foot sliding glass doors give an open-air feel and permit enjoyment of the city and bay views as you relax on the living room sofa, sit at the dining table or prepare a meal in the kitchen. A few steps outside the front door is the heated pool and deck it shares with Villa Gregory next door.

VILLA SAMUEL: Villa Samuel is Quinta Encantada’s two-story, 3-bedroom villa. Picture windows on both floors provide stunning views of the Bay looking south toward Los Arcos. Its master bedroom has a king size bed and separate seating area. One of the smaller bedrooms has a king size bed and the other a queen size bed. Also on the second floor is an outside terrace with table and chairs that overlooks the pool it shares with Villa Emily. Villa Samuel’s expansive first floor has a card table, a desk and a sectional sofa positioned to enjoy the views of Quinta Encantada’s own “jungle” and Banderas Bay. The first floor also has the kitchen with stool seating (for 4) at the kitchen counter and a dining table (seating 6).

Magical place, magical space

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently returned from eight days in Villa Emily with four of our adult kids. This place is so fantastic it is hard to describe. When we walked in the door, one kid said "this is insane!" and another said "are you kidding me?!" There is sooooo much space; the villa itself seems to go on and on, and the ceilings are so high and the windows and views so expansive that it feels even bigger than the enormous, luxurious place that it is. Everything was perfect, beginning with and especially Humberto who talked to our driver while we were en route to make sure our arrival went smoothly, then met us at the gate (as did Jerry and the dogs!). Humberto is a wealth of knowledge and help, setting us up with his friend, Beto, in Boca de Tomatlan for an all-day private boat adventure that included waterfalls, and hiking, and snorkeling and so much information about different trees, and birds and was fantastic! (And crazy reasonable.) Humberto is amazing.

But back to the place. The villa is spectacular, with enough space and views and rooms and bathrooms, and plates and glasses and cookware that, other than filling it with delicious foods from the Mercado, there is nothing more we could have needed. It is so spacious that it's nearly impossible to photograph--the photos on the website truly do not begin to do it justice. Perfectly clean, super comfortable beds. Ana does a great job with everything.

The view is the best we've ever seen in PV. The fireworks on New Year's Eve felt like they were being shot off from our living room. A walk down the hill, and down the stairs, takes you to Calle Sta. Barbara. A 5-10 minute walk down the quiet cobblestone road to your right takes you into the heart of Old Town. 5 minutes to your left takes you to easy beach access, with miles of beach in either direction. You can actually scramble along the beach toward town and end up on the Malecon. If the trek back UP the hill isn't your thing, there are cabs everywhere. We never paid more than 50 pesos for a cab ride home, even with six people in the car.

We are already planning our next trip back...this time without any kids (shhhhh!). If you are considering one of the properties at Quinta Encantada, DO IT! It is magic. You will not regret it.

I recently returned from a fabulous four week stay in Casa Carter and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the experience. The unit itself is lovely - large, open and furnished with both comfort and aesthetics in mind. It takes awhile to even focus on the interesting decor however, because of the spectacular views from almost every corner of the unit. It is truly breathtaking. The ocean and all of its magic - boats, whales, dolphins - is the first thing you will see in the morning and the last thing you will see at night. There is a large deck - the perfect place to wind down and enjoy Puerto Vallarta's amazing sunsets. You can also see the downtown and enjoy the nightly 10pm fireworks that are short but colorful, and usually seen between 9:45 and 10:15. Casa Carter shares a lovely warm pool with Casa Gregory and it a delight to float in the perfect water and look at the ocean below. The only problem with all of this? It can be really hard to motivate yourself to leave the extreme comfort to go into town and enjoy all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer. However, when you do, the Romantic Zone with its many shops and restaurants is an easy walk - mostly downhill. Some people will opt for a cab for the uphill return and cabs are very inexpensive. The site manager, Humberto, does a wonderful job of keeping the property ship shape and helping out in any way he can. He met us at the airport, took us grocery shopping and was there for absolutely anything we needed. He is an exceptional person and will do everything in his power to assure you enjoy your stay. Anna the housekeeper does an excellent job, cleaning six days a week and even doing your laundry! And they do all this with such warmth and kindness. We were also fortunate enough to be there when the owners, Jerry and Barbara were in residence. They are very gracious hosts and do everything they can to assure you that you enjoy every moment of your vacation. I highly recommend any of the beautiful properties in Quinta Encantada and am already planning my next visit. It truly is a paradise!

WOW...Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous

  • 5 of 5

Well where do I begin...We were very fortunate to have stayed in the penthouse and let me say that it was absolutely incredible and by far the best Villa we have ever stayed at. The views from the pool deck are without a doubt one of the best of the Bay of Banderas. It is absolutely fantastic how the private pool jets into the interior living area, truly one of a kind. The Villa is impeccably clean and furnished very professionally. Humberto who is the onsite manager goes out of his way to please, and Anna the housekeeper is so nice. They both make you feel like you are part of the family. The Villa is so open with glass doors and windows that allow for ocean breezes to flow through the living area. There is a flat screen TV in the family room with satellite TV, and to be honest we never watched any TV because we were so mesmerized by the spectacular views of the ocean and two other decks that open up to a lush garden area. The villa is located a short distance to Old Town Vallarta and a very reasonable taxi ride. Humberto arranged for taxi transportation on multiple occasions. The Villa is so beautiful you feel like you never want to leave. The penthouse is one of several other Villas which also appear to be quite nice, each having their own views of the bay. We truly look forward to a future stay at Quinta Encantada and the owners are very nice and professional. Adios ....will remember this trip for many years to come.
