Overview

About the property

Come and relax at our Pine Maintain Retreat! Our rustic cabin is located in a private community in the Los Padres National Forest. Lovely Pine Mountain or Frazier Park is only 1/2 hour away from Pyramid Lake where you can enjoy peace and tranquility. For those thrill seekers Magic Mountain amusement park is just 45 minutes from the cabin!

This cabin features a lower level with plenty of places to sleep along with a foosball table! There is a king, 2 queens, a double and 5 twin beds in the cabin. Renters must provide their own sheets, pillowcases, towels and firewood.

While staying at our cabin you can enjoy access to the beautiful golf course, swimming pool as well as baby pool, tennis courts and the clubhouse with a video game room. In town you can find a stable that offers trail rides and a restaurant and lounge. For the fisherman in you, you can find catch-and-release fishing in fern lake too.

At the village business area there are restaurants, a supermarket, hardware store, gift shops, internet cafe as well as festivals and fairs. If you enjoy sledding, cross country skiing or hiking, you can take a 20 minute drive up to mount pinos.

Numerous off road trails for dirt biking, ATV’s etc. in Los Padres National forest which is only a short drive away.

You have the option to clean the cabin yourself with the cleaning supplies provided or there will be a $75 cleaning fee.

The roads in this private community are regularly maintained by Pine Mountain Club. However, weather can be unpredictable so a 4wd or chains would be necessary in the winter months. There is limited cell service. Verizon works fine. If you need to make long distance calls you will need to bring a calling card. The cabin phone is only for local calls!

I don’t want to come back to this house

  • 1 of 5

-a House has a terrible smell, even if you open the windows and doors stink does not pass

The basement is generally impossible to enter:

the smell, dampness and dilapidation of things like

beds and bedroom suites is disgusting and impossible to sleep in.

- TV in the living room does not work

We can’t use it

- Only cold water , water heater does not work.

We can’t use it

-the fireplace is dirty, in which old charred firewood piled up.

We can’t use it

- The grill on the patio is crammed with ashes, it is not possible to use it

- the ceiling is covered with spider webs

the house can not be used for adequate housing

I am very disappointed

Charming old Cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5

Huge! Our family with three young children and our dog had so much fun here! The price is right, too! Could use updating, but then you wouldn’t get such a great price...also you’d lose that charming “cabin” feel. We also enjoyed our time spent at the community center, where there is a pool, gym, and game room with daily activities for kids.

Liked the space and location.

Nicole was prompt in replying to any queries. She gave all the necessary instructions for checking in and out. Very nice and spacious patio in the back. Will stay again.

A nice house with most of the things needed for a relaxing stay.

  • 5 of 5

When I say most of the things needed, I feel I should mention some strange omissions: bedsheets, pillowcases, dish towels, and bath towels. The owners were upfront in letting us know we'd need to bring them ourselves, and I think I understand the reason for the omission, but it was still odd. I think because they aren't able to get to the cabin regularly after someone rents it, they'd not be able to wash them for the next renter. It is a secluded, out of the way location, so it's completely understandable. We traveled to this location from out of state though and had we not had family nearby, we'd not have been able to bring our own.

All that said, it was a great place and quickly felt like home. The owners helpfully left instructions for *everything* leaving nothing to chance. I really enjoyed the stay and will certainly consider this cabin for any future stays up in PMC!
