Bedrooms 7
Space 4,000 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 6 nights

About the property

Large enough to host family reunions, church retreats, or even small weddings.

Located 125 yards from main street downtown, 1/2 mile to the area's grocery store, and a 1/4 mile from the marina and public boat ramp.

It's convenient yet private. The house is positioned on a hill that offers a panoramic view of Douglas Lake with the three highest peaks of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in the background, and a back yard that extends down to the lake. The back deck and patio are great areas to entertain a large group or just relax with a book and take in the view.

Just as Dandridge is a mix of old and new, we have tried to accomplish the same at Stone's View. Our goal was to keep the charm of this 1930's home with all the modern amenities to create a truly special place. There are three large gathering areas for entertaining, two kitchens, a 1,800 sq ft patio area, and a 300 sq ft deck off the living room area.

The home offers seven bedrooms that can comfortably sleep 16 and 5 full bathrooms. The home has four master suite bedrooms with en-suite baths; one of the bedrooms has its own private deck and large soaking tub.

For the chef, the kitchen is well equipped with new and convenient appliances and cookware. There is plenty of capacity with two ranges and two refrigerators.

The best Stone's View has to offer is the inner peace and joy you'll experience seating on the deck or patio watching the birds catch their lunch, the occasional deer and turkey grazing, or maybe a glimpse of bald eagles that nest in the area. We hope you visit us and experience the unique qualities of the Great Smokey Mountains, Douglas Lake, and historic Dandridge at Stone's View.

About Kent Maples

Our family is from East Tennessee. We live just 20 minutes from Stone's View. We stay there often, and continually look for ways to upgrade and enhance our guest's stay.

Kent Maples purchased this house in 2012

Why Kent Maples chose Dandridge

Dandridge exemplifies small town USA; it has a proud, unique historic past and is protective of its heritage. My wife and I love to take walks; we're entertained by the cities nuances and in awe of the lakes natural beauty.

We find it very convenient to have two marinas within 1.5 miles to rent various kinds of boats and accessories. The public boat ramp is less than a mile away for those who have their own water craft.

What makes this house unique

The view captured our interest in Stone's View. If it's having your morning coffee and seeing the sunrise or having an evening cocktail with a special someone watching the sunset, you'll be sure to create memorable moments taking in the view.

Our home is located in the historic City of Dandridge overlooking Douglas Lake. Being Tennessee's second oldest city, you will find that Dandridge has its fair share of history. Dandridge was named in honor of our country's first First Lady, Martha Dandridge Washington. It is a National Historic District. The city's most iconic building is the Jefferson County Courthouse. It was completed in 1845 in Greek Revival architecture. This is one of the many historic buildings you can see from our front porch. Four of the original taverns highlight the walking tour of the historic district. Dandridge provides a delightful mixture of old and new. The courthouse contains a free museum displaying historic artifacts from many area of Jefferson County. Maybe one would prefer a carriage ride of the historic district based from a cafe where you can also utilize their high-speed wireless internet connection. Tinsley-Bible Drug Store is celebrating their 103rd anniversary.

This old fashioned drug store takes you back to “when times were great”. Guests are served breakfast and lunch at their old fashioned soda fountain

counter and booths; just across the bridge from down town you'll find a full service marina that allows guests to rent boats, wave runners, skiis and more.

ESPN hosts two fishing tournaments each year that validates the lake's great reputation for fishing.

From your house, walk down town to hear free concerts from local artists as well as buy locally grown produce at the farmers market on Saturdays.

The Nation's most visited National Park is just minutes away including Pigeon Forge which offers Dollywood theme park and water park, the second largest outlet center in the US (Tanger Outlets), plus much much more.

Carson Newman University Homecoming Reunion

Our organization celebrated it's 5th anniversary this year. This year's attendance exceeded all other events. It was crucial that we encountered minimum distractions and or shortcomings. With smooth and timely check-in interactions, we were elated with the level of professionalism displayed by this management team. They responded immediately to all requests, repairs, and all such issues. Their display of superior hospitality is clearly unmatched, and deserves to be recognized.

Wedding of our dreams. With close friends and family.

  • 5 of 5

We rented the two houses. Fit 22 people between the two houses for the wedding and everyone commented how roomy it was and never felt cramped. There was quiet spaces to go to and large gathering areas. We also talked to the nabrs and if there was any issue of noise to let us know. They were great also and very hospitable.

There was a few minor issues but nothing that would give it a star less than what it deserves.

Our wedding was absolutely beautiful on the large patio and a very intimate experience with the small group and best friend that married us.

The Maples are very kind and put every detail of a great experience into the rooms for guest and were helpful anytime we needed it.

Thank you for making our dream wedding come true and letting us reconnect with our friends by providing the space we needed!

I will cherish this memory always!

Amazing view; lots to do!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time at Stone's View. 15 of my family members, ages 14-76, stayed at this beautiful house for a week in early August. There was room for everyone and we had the perfect balance of activity and relaxation. We rented a pontoon boat one day and pulled people in tubes. We went whitewater rafting. We hiked in the Smoky Mountains, went horseback riding, played tennis, and used the local gym for basketball and yoga. (Only $4 a day)! We also enjoyed milkshakes and malts at the local drugstore in walking distance. The house is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. The view from the back deck is really spectacular and we ate dinner outside many evenings. We even took some nighttime swims in the lake. The weather was perfect and there were no bugs! Kent was attentive and helpful. It was truly a memorable week. Thqnks again, Kent!
