Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We came with a big group of friends and had a wonderful time at this location. All the amenities we could need and slept 9 comfortably. It’s got a great cozy cabin vibe but still modern enough with nicer appliances. We really liked that there is a kitchen and living room (upstairs) large enough for a big group to hang out together. Other cabins had smaller rooms and were harder to gather for games etc.. It’s a bit of a drive but close enough to Leavenworth so we had a great day trip during our weekend stay. I would definitely come again and recommend to others!

Good place except for bugs and no owner response

  • 2 of 5

Would have wrote a better review but there was maggots all over the bathroom floor. I would sweep them up and they would come right back. I contacted the owner about this and did not get a response. Otherwise the house was well suited for our group! Furniture was old and not very comfortable upstairs. Carpet was stained and felt sticky in places.

Owner's Response: Hello Caitlin, I responded to you in less than two hours from receiving notification and reading your statement. I have added the message that I replied back to you. Your message came to me with a time stamp of 11:32 AM, my response time was 12:55 PM. (email response and time stamp is noted below) As I had stated, I was already picking up some needed back up supplies for the home and was on my way to check in and start cleaning as I normally do after every guest leaves. Upon my arrival I instantly went to the bathroom and performed an inspection of the following areas, cabinets, shower, closet and under the kitchen cabinets that back up to the bathroom wall. I could not find any evidence, and believe me I was on my hands and knees with additional lighting looking in every crevasse for any evidence, I found nothing at all. In my response to you, I had asked if you had smelled an odor, possibly from a dead mouse, I did not receive a response from you and after the inspection upon my arrival, I was not sure if your e-mail was possibly a bad joke or an attempt to acquire some kind financial restitution. I took your complaint very serious, I am the one who does the cleaning and I am entrusted by the owners to look after their home, a responsibility that I am extremely proud of. That is why all of my communication with all of our guest have my personal phone number listed and urge anyone to call me directly, always have and always will. from: Brian to: Caitlin date: Mon, Oct 16, 2017 at 12:55 PM subject: Re: Reservation from Caitlin: Oct 14 through 16 - #573315 mailed-by: Hello Caitlin,, I am sorry, we have never had an issue of such a nature, I personally clean the home after every guest departs. All bathrooms are cleaned with bleach, everytime, the entire kitchen was completely scrubbed down with amonia on Tuesday prior to your arrival. I saw no evidence of anything that would such an issue. We do have an occasional mouse problem and routinely put out traps and or poison. Is there any kind of odor that you have noticed, such as a dead animal. I am presently in Wenatchee getting things together and will be there shortly. Sincerely Brian Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE device

Good location for wedding at Brown Family Homestead

  • 4 of 5

Stayed at this property for a wedding at the Brown Family Homestead. There were only 2 couples in our group but it could have easily accommodated more. The decor/furniture is a little old/outdated and the layout is a little odd but there is a living room area downstairs and upstairs. The upstairs bedroom has a bathroom but no shower. There are two showers downstairs. Upstairs bed was a little uncomfortable but not sure what the other couple thought of the one downstairs they slept in.

It had everything we needed for our short stay. My only complaint is the Wi-Fi was shutoff on Sunday. I'm not sure if that was a fluke or if that is normal? For me it was EXTREMELY frustrating as WiFi is a main staple when I stay somewhere as I need to be able to access email on my computer for work. Not to mention we were trying to check-in for our flights and look up information on getting to our next location and activities.

The location was good; it is right across the street from the Dirty Face Lodge and then about 1/2 a mile down from the wedding venue (but due to how dark it is and the road conditions towards the venue we drove). There are also some local hikes you can do nearby (check out Hidden Lake Trail for an easy hike). The Bavarian town was about a 25-30 minute drive which I think is where the closest large grocery store is. The cabin did have a lot of leftover spices/condiments, etc from previous tenants so chances are if you forgot something, you may find it in the fridge. Same with some toiletries which really helped me out.

Everything with booking/check-in went smoothly. All in all a good place to stay!
