About this property

Stay in the Peninsula's Old Schoolhouse: Spectacular Views & Family-Friendly

Stay in the former National School perched on the rugged Sheep's Head Peninsula, now a cosy holiday home with plenty of space to relax and enjoy time with family or friends. From the large terrace and virtually every room, enjoy spectacular views across Dunmanus Bay towards the Mizen Head Peninsula.

The house comfortably sleeps up to six guests and is spread over two floors, with three bedrooms, a living room with an open fireplace and piano, a TV room opening onto the terrace, and a large modernised kitchen with a dining table for six. The main bedroom has its own en-suite shower, while two further bathrooms serve the rest of the house.

The large terrace is the perfect place to sit with a morning coffee, enjoy a meal or simply watch the grazing cows and the changing light over the bay. The house offers an ideal base for exploring the beautiful surroundings. The award-winning Sheep's Head Way, with its gorgeous coastal hiking, passes right outside your doorstep.

You can go for a swim or fishing in the sheltered Tra Ruaim Bay, right below the house. There are lively pubs and a small grocery shop in Kilcrohane, 4 km down the road. Bantry offers a wider choice of shops and restaurants, as well as a cinema.

Above all, the Schoolhouse offers you the perfect peaceful setting to slow down, relax, and enjoy the views.
