About James Latyszewski
I was born and raised in Michigan. When I was young I traveled to Yosemite, California and was blown away by the mountains, waterfalls and wildlife. Ever since, I have spent all of my summers near national parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Arches, Acadia and Mesa Verde. In the wintertime I enjoy living in exotic tropical locations.
James Latyszewski purchased this House in 2006
Why James Latyszewski chose Star
This property has an amazing view of the mountains and is centrally located to all four east side entrances into Glacier National Park. It is also conveniently located between St. Mary, Browning and East Glacier. Out of all the places I've lived and visited, this is the most tranquil, peaceful and relaxing.
What makes this House unique
Some benefits for staying here are: You will not hear cars on the road or trains passing nearby, like in town. You will hear great horned owls, frogs and coyote. You will not smell trash and see roaming dogs like in town. You will smell fresh, clean air and possibly see one of the friendly neighbors. You will not see buildings or many people, just nature. You will have your own private area. You will constantly have an ever changing 360 degree panoramic view of the horizon. The clouds and colorful skies are astounding with the mountains in view, especially during sunrise and sunset. The nights are particularly peaceful and unique with the cloud-like Milky Way overhead and minimal light pollution. Any night you can watch shooting stars and occasionally see the Aurora Borealis. Moose, deer, rabbits, pine martens and squirrels are commonly seen in the yard. Once in a while you'll see bears, wolves and mountain lions. It is a fantastic place to bird watch. Eagles, hawks, osprey, great horned owls, swallows, mountain blue birds and humming birds are frequently seen. There is great drinking water from a 150' deep well that is feed by an aquifer straight out of Glacier National Park.

Very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful scenery
It was a short stay but very nice. Clean and taken care of, very rustic and updated at the same time. I would definitely recommend to others
We loved it! Very well appointed house in beautiful, peaceful surroundings!
The house was great. James has thought of everything to make his guests' stay comfortable. The property is beautiful, peaceful and a wonderful quiet place to come home to after an active day in Glacier NP!
This property offered everything someone could need out of a secluded get away. The cabin was clean and well stocked. The views were breath taking and James was incredibly helpful with suggestions of the surrounding area. I highly recommend this place and will hopefully be visiting again in the future.
Stayed October 23-27, 2017. Very secluded and beautiful area. The driveway is rough, but it is part of the charm of arriving on the meadow with mountain views. The cabin has everything you need, and is very comfortable. We liked the location, easy drives to both sides of GNP. This time of year, we felt like we had the park all to ourselves. We will definitely be back.
Loved the location and the interior. Very nice with everything provided. Loved getting away from other people to our own little oasis. Beautiful views.
The best pace we have ever stayed
This cabin is a real home from home. It is cosy yet spacious with the most amazing wildlife viewing room. On our last night we had a Moose run through the meadow about 60 yards from us - we couldn't believe our luck! The cabin has everything you could possibly need and is clean and very welcoming, the outdoors is quiet and beautiful. It's an easy 40 minute drive to St Mary's and Many Glacier and even quicker to Two Medicine. As wildfires stopped us from going beyond Logan Pass we have decided to come back for another holiday and will definitely be staying at this cabin. I miss it already. Thanks for an amazing stay James
The house is nestled in the foothills of the northern Rockies. You can see nine summits in Glacier National Park from the windows. It is located between three entrances of Glacier; Two Medicine, Cut Bank Creek and St. Mary. The Many Glacier entrance is a one hour drive. In the yard you can frequently spot moose, deer, coyote and occasionally some bears. The house is in the middle of a small field that provides an ever changing 360 degree panoramic view. You can enjoy the sunrises and sunsets, which offer great photo opportunities of the surrounding area.
