About Dean and Debbie Bortz
The Bittersweet Guest House is nestled in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania Dutch Country and is the boyhood home of the owner. This 12-acre farm has been in the family for over 60 years and the land is still being farmed today. After inheriting this property over 4 years ago, the owner and his wife have extensively remodeled and lovingly refurbished this guesthouse. As guests turn into the country lane, they will be greeted by a peaceful retreat in all seasons for folks seeking a quiet refuge from busy city life. Relaxation begins the moment a guest steps into the home. The day’s missed deadlines and snarled traffic become distant memories while sitting on the front porch having a relaxing beverage. The owner’s continual dedication to detail has fostered an environment that is comfortable and cozy. The Bittersweet Guest House is just minutes away from quaint villages, cycling events, professional baseball parks, wildlife sanctuaries, farmers markets, antique markets and the nearby cities of Allentown and Reading.
