Private Equestrian Estate- Beautiful Retreat, Perfect Location, Quality Property

Bedrooms 2
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Master Suite,2 Baths, Loft With 3 Beds On 47 Acres With Ponds, Streams,&Serenity

Enjoy the warmth and restorative simplicity of true log cabin living while pampering the body with organic toiletries and luxurious bath and bed linens. The sound of the waterfall, the ducks milling about on the ponds, and the quiet rhythm of life on the farm is wonderful for relaxing the mind and body.

Located just 10 miles west of Brevard, North Carolina, this beautiful log cabin is part of Falling water Farm, a private equestrian estate that is nestled in its own secluded valley. Large picture windows frame meticulously maintained pastures bordered by streams and springs that flow into a pond located directly in front of the cabin. The covered porch overlooks a waterfall that is beautiful to look at and soothing to hear, especially as one drifts off to sleep. Come morning, enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the horses graze and the ducks dabble for their breakfast on the pond. Guests are welcome to walk the property and under the owner's supervision, meet the horses.

The cabin has an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, and living room area. This design feature takes full advantage of the floor-to-ceiling windows to offer unrestricted views and a feeling of connection with the land and life that surround the cabin. The living room is tastefully furnished with a couch and matching recliner as well as a rocking chair. In addition, there is a flat screen television with Direct TV satellite and a DVD player.

The master suite downstairs has a king size bed, walk in closet, and private bath. The soothing sound of the water is particularly nice in this bedroom. Upstairs is a roomy loft area with another full bath, a queen bed as well as two single beds. One of the single beds can be collapsed and moved out of the way if not needed. The cabin is air conditioned and separate temperature controls in the master bedroom, loft, and great room ensure maximum comfort during the summer months.

The Kitchen is equipped with a microwave, electric range, refrigerator with an ice maker, dishwasher, blender, and coffee maker. There is also a stacked washer and dryer unit. Additionally there is a barbecue grill and outside dining area located behind the cabin in its private yard. Access to the property is private, entry is via an electric gate. Guests are assigned a unique entry code prior to their arrival.

Located just off of Hwy 64, we are convenient to Cashiers, Sapphire, Lake Toxaway, and Highlands to the West, Brevard and Hendersonville to the East, Asheville to the north, and the upstate of South Carolina to the South. All of these locations have a lot to offer from great restaurants to great antiquing. The major hubs of Atlanta to the south and Charlotte to the east are both only 2 1/2 hours drive away.

Transylvania county is the land of waterfalls and hiking, biking, cycling, and sightseeing destinations are literally only minutes away. For hikers and mountain bikers, Jocassee State Park is only 2.3 miles down the road and for cyclists there are miles of bike routes all through Transylvania county. Should fly fishing, tubing, or kayaking interest you, both the Davidson river and the French Broad Rivers are just minutes away. For the horse enthusiast, there are several stables in the area that offer trail rides, but reservations are a must. We are also close to DuPont State Forest, Pisgah State Forest, and Caesars Head State Park. The Biltmore Estate with its winery, grounds, and gardens in Asheville is only 35 miles north.

Because of the numerous water features and four legged animals already on the property, we are unable to accommodate children or pets. But if you are looking for a place geared towards the adult traveler, Falling Water Farm is for you.

Great place to unwind and slow down!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the stay at the beautiful ranch cabin of Ilya's. The cabin is very modern, plenty of space, and our host thought of everything! She delivered fresh baked cookies and scones and had a great selection of soaps, toiletries, coffees, etc. We really enjoyed seeing the horses, duck, and snow geese on the property and we had some time with the new puppy "Huckleberry" that came to the cabin to see us each day. We would recommend your booking the cabin if you are interested in a place near Brevard, NC.

Near perfect visit!

  • 5 of 5

Our four night stay at Ilse's farm was just right. The four guests--two couples-- were extremely comfortable in this very, very clean and cool cabin. The kitchen was very nicely stocked, the linens were super and the floor plan was great for two couples. The outside living was special--morning coffee, dining, and walking the grounds were very tranquil and added to the stay. These features allowed for much relaxation for the "girls" while the "boys" were flyfishing on the Davidson River.

The location west of Brevard made the trip back to town easy. the Square Root was a very good lunch stop but Marco's on Main Street disappointed for dinner. Our host, Ilse, with her baked goodies and new puppy made us feel at home. However, the queen bed in the loft is short on head room. We would return!

Return to tranquility

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th stay at Falling Water with more to come. We love everything about the location and the cabin, especially Ilses attention to making sure you are comfortable and all our wishes were fulfilled. We missed Ottis, but enjoyed the new addition "Puppette". All of our positive comments in the past continue to be true for this visit. We believe that everything that is shown and said about Falling Water on the website is better in person when you arrive at the front gate.

My favorite getaway place!

  • 5 of 5

April 21-24, 2017

This was my second trip to Falling Water Farm, and it was just as good as the first time. Ilse's lovely cabin, hospitality and property did not disappoint! It is absolutely the best place to get away and retreat. My adult son and daughter came with for an extended weekend, and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was immaculate and we got spoiled, of course, with the fresh baked scones and cookies, in addition to fresh eggs from Ilse's sister's farm. We ate some meals out, and some meals at the cabin. There's everything you need to cook a full meal. The peace and tranquility renew and refresh you. We were privileged to see Ilse's brand new puppy. He is adorable. I cannot say enough about Falling Water Farm. It's a great escape!

Ilse, I look forward to returning in September for another "Sister Retreat". We couldn't find a better place, and it's still "heaven on earth"!

Better than a five star hotel!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Falling Waters farm was an amazing experience. The cabin was immaculate and well maintained. Ilse’s meticulous attention to every aspect of making her guests feel welcome and comfortable was above and beyond anything we could have imagined. Everything that you could possibly need was provided, including fresh-baked cookies and scones…which were delicious! The property was amazingly landscaped with babbling brooks flowing down from the mountain to a lake complete with ducks and a goose. The lake emptied into a waterfall in front of the cabin that provided a relaxing view and sound while sitting on the front porch. We also enjoyed watching the horses each morning in the pastures as they ate and played. We will definitely return for another stay at Falling Water Farms, hopefully this fall to see the leaves and visit more waterfalls. Ilse has a very special place that she works very hard to maintain, as we observed, and we hope that she continues to make it available so that other vacationers can experience what we di

The farm is gorgeous! A wonderful nature get away that is a short drive from Brevard.

  • 5 of 5

Ilse's guest house is immaculate. It is extremely clean and well maintained. There are lovely views in all directions, a soothing waterfall, and tables for eating outside. There were tulips and fresh baked cookies on the kitchen table when we arrived. We were also treated to delicious scones for breakfast. Ilse went to a lot of trouble to make sure that we were comfortable and happy...and happy we were!!
