All bedrooms have high ceilings, unique and artistic decoration, very comfortable bedding, many pillows, electric blankets, AND the necessary thermal blackout-blinds. Everything is fresh and clean. Excellent!!!

We stayed at the Great Bear Vacation Rental the last week in August for 4 nights. From the moment we were welcomed by the warm glow of the pellet stove we knew we would enjoy our stay. We had 3 couples and each had their own bedroom and fit comfortably in the kitchen, dining room and living room. This is a great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing, you really feel like you are living in Seward. The house is super clean, really nicely decorated and in a great location. Close to a grocery store and drive thru coffee and an easy 2-minute drive to Seward, but located in a quiet neighborhood. The extra amenities in the backyard and the sauna are great. The hosts are super accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend staying here; you will not regret it!

You feel like you are at home but MUCH better.

  • 5 of 5

What a gem of a place, inmaculate and beautiful. We enjoyed very much walking to town, the sauna and the fire pit that Jim kept on for us. Talking about Jim, both he and Diane are the best hosts that you can hope for. Caring, helpful and acted like family would. We are very happy that we stayed with Jim and Diane and even more grateful for all they did above and beyond their call of duty. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Definitely would stay here again. Jim and Diane are super friendly and approachable. Jim is a fisherman and had great advice for fishing destinations.

Great Location, Impeccably Maintained - We called it "The Lodge"

  • 5 of 5

Everything one could need was on hand. Cul-de-sac location, so very quiet. As clean as clean could be, and very tastefully decorated. Well worth the price. When we returned to Seward we hope this place is available or we may very well change the dates of our trip!
