Overview

About the property

Rustic 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 400 yards from lake

This property is located on 17 beautiful wooded acres next to Douglas Lake. It is owned by Mountain Lake Resort, which has other buildings including a huge log cabin lodge with 8 bedrooms that sleeps up to 64, a hotel with 16 rooms that sleeps up to 64, and a large bunkhouse with 1 large room that sleeps up to 18. These venues are perfect for wedding parties, church groups & retreats, family reunions, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc.

The little wooden cabin is away from the hustle and bustle of town and it is less than 400 yards from the lake. It is a great place to go for walks, fish, swim, or bird watch. The cabin has a small front porch to sit and read a book or just enjoy the quiet beauty of nature. Inside there is 1 full sized bed on the lower level and a twin mattress in the loft (small crawl space really only suitable mattress for kids), 1 bathroom, and a small functional kitchen. The cabin comes with a fan, small air conditioning unit, and a portable heater, a TV/DVD player but no cable so bring DVDs. This cabin can accommodate 2 people on the bed and 1 kid upstairs in the loft for a total of 3. This facility is a smoke-free, alcohol-free facility.

Why Betty chose Dandridge

This property is great in that it is close to all the fun activities of Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Dollywood. It's also close to marinas for those who wish to rent boats etc. We do have lake access but NOT lake frontage and our access area is open to the public as it is a county road, 1/4 mile walk from the ranch, and NOT our property so we apologize for any trash found there but it is what it is. It's more of a fishing area and since TVA has cut back on employees, they do not monitor it as much as they should. Shoes a must if you wish to swim as you may run into a fish hook or broken glass. The beach area is straight across the lake from there, but since Douglas Dam is between it and us, it is a 4 mile drive.

What makes this cabin unique

For those who want a homey atmosphere, quiet, not partying and noisy, we are a great place to come "home to" after a busy day downtown with all it's attractions. We have a small fishing pond for our guests, well stocked, catch and release, and you bring your own gear. Also a bonfire area and volleyball and basketball.

Wonderful !!

  • 4 of 5

I have spent 3 nights in this Little Cute cabin and overall i have enjoyed my stay.

It is little but has everything you need during your day !!

It has a new couch and wall frame.

Very good hot water facility and a room heater which is really required in winter.

It has 2 window ACs if you are planing to stay in Summer.

Thanks !!

So cute!

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon and we were so impressed with everything! Just the right size for the two of us. Would definitely stay here again. Not too far from everything touristy wise. And the lake was gorgeous. Just a super cute place to stay.

Would not stay again

  • 3 of 5

We love this place last year and hoped to this year. Our stay was cut short due to a problem with the cabin. Our heart was not into it. Other accommodation were not available for the full stay.
