We truly love Island living. We currently live on Kent Island which is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay and has a population of about 16,812 in Maryland. We enjoying boating, fishing, crabbing and seeing all the beautiful nature that surrounds us each and every day. Being blessed with the ability to wake each morning to the beautiful surrounds of the Chesapeake Bay made finding a vacation home a real challenge. We truly believe we have found this vacation spot where we can come as a family or as a couple and be surrounded by nature, have all the privacy you desire yet be close enough to jump on the boat for multiple options in entertainment. We think you will be amazed at the rejuvenation that you will feel after spending the week here.

TAXIS AND TOADSTOOLS
If once you have slept on an island
You'll never be quite the same;
You may look as you looked the day before
And go by the same old name,
You may bustle about in street and shop;
You may sit at home and sew,
But you'll see blue water and wheeling gulls
Wherever your feet may go.
You may chat with the neighbors of this and that
And close to your fire keep,
But you'll hear ship whistle and lighthouse bell
And tides beat through your sleep.
Oh, you won't know why, and you can't say how
Such change upon you came,
But -- once you have slept on an island
You'll never be quite the same.
This one of kind property is close enough to be convenient, private enough for a cozy get-a-way and flexible enough to entertain family or a gathering. From the morning sunrise to the stary nights, the views are breathtaking. Bring your boat or rent a boat from numerous marinas within minutes of the island.
Beautiful spot for 4th of July fireworks on the top deck, best show ever!!! Heide was very responsive with all communication. Beware of sand gnats as you are on an island....they are out all night and day. Great view from the top bedroom windows. Other 2 bedrooms are airy curtain style rooms so no doors or walls. Definitely geared towards fishing, you have to take the boat out to get the beach experience. Bring a DVD if you have little ones so they are entertained when it is too buggy to go outside. This property is probably best for adults. Kitchen has all cooking necessities.
We enjoyed our stay on Crescent Island. The owners are VERY responsive, and excellent with communication and directions. They made our stay great! The location, and privacy of this island was exactly what we were looking for, and it was perfect for our party of 10. 4 adults and 6 children. Sleeps 10 is a bit of a stretch, but we did make it work, and 2 of the kiddo's did not mind sleeping on the sofa, but there is bed space for only 8. Woody's on Pine Island was great, and there is a marina just next store for bait and gas and basic supplies. We enjoyed The Waterfront restaurant even better than Woody's. Easy boating to Sanibel Lighthouse, Ft Myers beach, Captiva Island and Cayo Costa. We docked at Jensen's marina on Captiva twice, and really enjoyed the beach & The Mucky Duck. We enjoyed the kayak's, and fishing on and around Crescent Island. Wildlife was everywhere, and we also enjoyed the 4th floor look-out deck. Great views from up there. Beware of the "noseeums", these little bugs that bite seem to be everywhere. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this rental home, it really is a once in a lifetime experience, and we made some great memories during our stay!
We (2 couples in our early 70s) just returned to cold New England after a glorious week on Crescent Island. The house offered an ideal spot to relax, read, putt around in the rental boat, and snooze. We made day trips to Sanibel and up to Cabbage Key for lunch, and enjoyed dinners at Woody's, the Low Key Tiki, and the Waterfront Restaurant (Woody's won the contest for best food!). Finding places to go ashore from the boat was a challenge. Restaurants allow you to tie up while you dine, and there are beaches where you can anchor, but be prepared to swim to shore. The southern tip of Caya Costa is the best beach that we found. If you're looking for a great spot away from the hustle and bustle of the Florida coast, this is the place for you. The house is clean, airy, and beautifully maintained. The view is spectacular, with boats coming and going on the inter-coastal waterway, dolphins, osprey, herons, and pelicans in abundance, and warm breezes blowing. The owners are very responsive and helpful. All in all, a wonderful vacation spot!
My wife and I decided to take our kids back home to Ft Myers for Christmas but stay someplace different. Crescent Island was the answer! We had an amazing 9 night stay. The home was clean and had all ammenities. Kids swam in pool, fished, kayaked and had a ball. The views are amazing from every level. Pictures dont do justice. We will make our way back there again! Highly recommended if you want a trip your will never forget and make lifetime memories with your kids.
We just returned home from a weeks stay on Crescent Island with our daughter and 5 of her friends. The pictures on the website do not do this amazing home justice. The views are spectacular, the home is immaculate, and the homeowner was fabulous to work with. My favorite was waking up in the master suite, and looking out over the water - it was incredible. We kayaked every day and it became commonplace to spot a dolphin swimming close to the island. There are wonderful restaurants close by - one of our favorites was Woody's where we docked our boat. When we weren't using the private beach, we boated to Sanibel Island where there is plenty of shopping and fine dining. GREAT LOCATION! GREAT HOME!!
My family and I stayed on Crescent Island for a family get-away. The first thing we noticed was that the pictures on the website do not do the place justice. The house and island were both even more beautiful in person. Upon arriving we saw our first set of dolphins playing in water right in front of the house, which was exciting, especially for out 11-year-old. The beds were comfortable and the house has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Nearby there are white sandy beaches, fun local restaurants and bars, and shopping - so there's plenty to do off the island, should you even want to leave. We'll definitely be back for another vacation, hopefully soon!
