About Heide Major
Smell the Sea and Feel the Sky, Let your Soul and Spirit Fly...Van Morrison We truly love Island living. We currently live on Kent Island which is the largest island in the Chesapeake Bay and has a population of about 16,812 in Maryland. We enjoying boating, fishing, crabbing and seeing all the beautiful nature that surrounds us each and every day. Being blessed with the ability to wake each morning to the beautiful surrounds of the Chesapeake Bay made finding a vacation home a real challenge. We truly believe we have found this vacation spot where we can come as a family or as a couple and be surrounded by nature, have all the privacy you desire yet be close enough to jump on the boat for multiple options in entertainment. We think you will be amazed at the rejuvenation that you will feel after spending the week here.

Why Heide Major chose Sanibel
---If Once You Have Slept on an Island --- ©Rachel Field, 1926, from TAXIS AND TOADSTOOLS If once you have slept on an island You'll never be quite the same; You may look as you looked the day before And go by the same old name, You may bustle about in street and shop; You may sit at home and sew, But you'll see blue water and wheeling gulls Wherever your feet may go. You may chat with the neighbors of this and that And close to your fire keep, But you'll hear ship whistle and lighthouse bell And tides beat through your sleep. Oh, you won't know why, and you can't say how Such change upon you came, But -- once you have slept on an island You'll never be quite the same.

Perfect Pine Island Retreat
This home (and it feels like a home!) on Crescent Island was a perfect retreat for our family. We stayed for 10 days during the first part of April 2018. We rented a 23' boat at Monroe Canal Marina (very close by and I highly recommend) to get to and from all the local Marinas and beaches. If you crave seclusion, are comfortable with a boat, than do not hesitate on this property. The owner is very responsive and we would love the opportunity to stay at this property in the future.
Amazingly clean and feels like home right away. Everyting we needed on hand.
This place is a slice of paradise. I know that we will be coming back as much as possible. It’s a private island that feels like home the moment you get here. Leaving this island is very hard to do after living out here. Thank you for an amazing home base for our vacation.

So glad you guys had a good time at Crescent Island. Your welcome back anytime!
Beautiful spot for 4th of July fireworks on the top deck, best show ever!!! Heide was very responsive with all communication. Beware of sand gnats as you are on an island....they are out all night and day. Great view from the top bedroom windows. Other 2 bedrooms are airy curtain style rooms so no doors or walls. Definitely geared towards fishing, you have to take the boat out to get the beach experience. Bring a DVD if you have little ones so they are entertained when it is too buggy to go outside. This property is probably best for adults. Kitchen has all cooking necessities.
Wendi - Glad you enjoyed the fireworks! We were there last year for the 4th of July and could not believe how many different displays you can see from the rooftop. We will be sure to replenish the Avon Skin So Soft (which is a must have for South West Florida's noseeums) bug repellants & citronella candles to help with the SW Florida bugs there particularly in the hot humid summer months.. The brand new DVD player will also be returned and replaced for future renters.
We enjoyed our stay on Crescent Island. The owners are VERY responsive, and excellent with communication and directions. They made our stay great! The location, and privacy of this island was exactly what we were looking for, and it was perfect for our party of 10. 4 adults and 6 children. Sleeps 10 is a bit of a stretch, but we did make it work, and 2 of the kiddo's did not mind sleeping on the sofa, but there is bed space for only 8. Woody's on Pine Island was great, and there is a marina just next store for bait and gas and basic supplies. We enjoyed The Waterfront restaurant even better than Woody's. Easy boating to Sanibel Lighthouse, Ft Myers beach, Captiva Island and Cayo Costa. We docked at Jensen's marina on Captiva twice, and really enjoyed the beach & The Mucky Duck. We enjoyed the kayak's, and fishing on and around Crescent Island. Wildlife was everywhere, and we also enjoyed the 4th floor look-out deck. Great views from up there. Beware of the "noseeums", these little bugs that bite seem to be everywhere. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this rental home, it really is a once in a lifetime experience, and we made some great memories during our stay!
We (2 couples in our early 70s) just returned to cold New England after a glorious week on Crescent Island. The house offered an ideal spot to relax, read, putt around in the rental boat, and snooze. We made day trips to Sanibel and up to Cabbage Key for lunch, and enjoyed dinners at Woody's, the Low Key Tiki, and the Waterfront Restaurant (Woody's won the contest for best food!). Finding places to go ashore from the boat was a challenge. Restaurants allow you to tie up while you dine, and there are beaches where you can anchor, but be prepared to swim to shore. The southern tip of Caya Costa is the best beach that we found. If you're looking for a great spot away from the hustle and bustle of the Florida coast, this is the place for you. The house is clean, airy, and beautifully maintained. The view is spectacular, with boats coming and going on the inter-coastal waterway, dolphins, osprey, herons, and pelicans in abundance, and warm breezes blowing. The owners are very responsive and helpful. All in all, a wonderful vacation spot!
My wife and I decided to take our kids back home to Ft Myers for Christmas but stay someplace different. Crescent Island was the answer! We had an amazing 9 night stay. The home was clean and had all ammenities. Kids swam in pool, fished, kayaked and had a ball. The views are amazing from every level. Pictures dont do justice. We will make our way back there again! Highly recommended if you want a trip your will never forget and make lifetime memories with your kids.
