From Brewer and now live in Florida
Scott McLaughlin purchased this cabin in 2013
Love the cabin and the view of the lake was awesome, saw lots of critters on stone road going into cabin. Enjoyed the peace and quiet, wished i would have brought my own boat to fish the lake. Scott was great to deal with, everything was as it was supposed to be! I would definitely rent the cabin again. We played golf visited Bar Harbor and shopped and eat lobster.
Scott couldn't have been any nicer!
He contacted us personally immediately after we booked. If we had any questions he was just a phone call away he answered any and all questions. You can call him anytime. The place was amazing!
Watching the Loons every morning while drinking our coffee was a daily ritual, It was so peaceful and tranquil!
I really want a place like this some day!
It was clean and had everything you need.
Directions were on point and we had no problem finding it.
There were Kayaks and a canoe to use.
Scott has a table in the corner with all kinds literature with facts on the area and a huge selection of things to do.
We went to a few places because of material we found and read.
We went to Baxter State Park and hiked one day, went 4 wheeling another day. , did another day at Bar harbor.
Went to Bar Harbor and ate Lobster at Stewman's Lobster pound, and of course had a blueberry Mojito!
We walked the path along the shore line, then hit all the nice shops on our way back. It was a really nice day.
My husband really enjoyed reading the material and learning about the area.
It was the best vacation we've had in a long time.
We would definitely book with him again.
Do it, you will not regret it!!
We had an amazing time at Phillips Lake. The nice quiet setting was just what we were looking for and we were not disappointed. The water was so clear and peaceful we didn't want our time to end there. The location was awesome as well in proximity to the coast, it was a quick ride to the harbor for fresh lobstah, then back to the house to cook them up.
We were very pleased with this camp and plan on returning again next year. Born and raised in the area, but now living in Washington, DC for the past 20+ years, I return to the area every summer with my family for vacation. We spend one week normally on either Beech Hill Pond or on Phillips Lake (or Lucerne as I called it growing up -- about 2 miles from the camp but not on the lake) and one week in SW Harbor on the coast. Scott's camp is on a perfect spot on the very clean lake. The cove makes for warmer water and there are plenty of loons to see and hear throughout the day and night. Scott is a great host and has the camp set up very well for visitors. It has all the modern conveniences you need while still being a camp on a lake. It is rustic while being very clean and functional. We were only a family of 3 but we all enjoyed the fact there were several areas one could go to be by themselves if they wanted. Outside there are a few different deck/porch options to sit and many options outside. We liked the fact the camp had a small beach area where you could easily launch kayaks and the canoe. The beach area was also nice to walk slowly into the water for those not inclined to jump off the dock or for smaller children to wade and play. The bedrooms inside are small but perfect! We liked the fact those rooms were darker and cozy. The front main room has fantastic windows for stunning views. My 12 year old loved the loft area - dubbing it Lazy Loft for times he wanted to watch a movie on his portable DVD player, read or play a game with us. Was also nice to have G&M grocery store just a quick drive away. You pay a little more than you would at a larger grocery store in Brewer but can't beat the convenience. Highly recommend this property. We had visitors several times throughout the week (all local family and friends) and all commented on how much they liked the camp. We'll be back for sure!
My wife and I, my son, his wife and 2 years old girl had wonderful time.We spent a week in this cabin. At first the unfinished road leading to cabin was difficult to drive. Upon arrival we unpacked and looked around. The cabin offered everything we needed for our stay. The Kayaks and Canoe were additional items that enhance enjoyment to our stay and provided means to roam and investigate Philips lake. The unpaved path was no problem and the store at the end of the road had everything we needed.
Quick and easy access to Bangor, Ellsworth, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Scott was extremely helpful in pointing out directions and places to shop, eat and visit. We would recommend this place and hope to return there soon.
Thank you Scott for your Hospitality.
