Great summer nights in August still available!

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Space 1,350 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 5 nights

About the property

Three bedroom, 2.5 bath, in a nice neighborhood close to restaurants & shopping

Our calendar is filling quickly for the rest of the summer, so if you are thinking about making a reservation you may need to act quickly. There are still a few dates available in May and for most of August. And it's certainly not too early to plan for fall travel!

Our home is a 2-story, 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath property with an open floor plan on the first level that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen in one space.

There is a large, 48' flat-screen TV in the living room and the house is supplied with satellite TV and Wi-fi. We have central air conditioning, which many Colorado Springs properties do not have because of the temperate weather. But it's nice to have it when you need it. (The house also has central heat.)

The kitchen has every amenity we hope you will need. It has been furnished with three sets of dishes (colored, white and picnic), glasses and goblets, two sets of silverware (casual and dressy), a coffeemaker, four-slice toaster, blender and much more.

The dining room table seats six, but there are two additional dining chairs located in the living room and three stools at the breakfast bar. Tablecloths are in the front entry closet. A high chair and pack 'n play are available on request.

Also on the first level is a half-bath and laundry room with washer and dryer. The leather hide-a-bed couch in the living room folds out to a double bed.

Attached to the first level is a two-car garage that has been set up as a game room with ping-pong table, 2 Foosball tables, card table and chairs. The garage/game room adds additional square footage to the 1350 square foot house.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom, which has a 32' flat-screen television, has a queen bed and small attached bathroom with a combination shower/tub. A second bathroom with a combination shower/tub is located off the landing. Two additional bedrooms complete the upstairs. One of those bedrooms has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds. Each bedroom has drawer storage and closet space with hangers for your clothes. All three bedrooms have been furnished with high quality mattresses and linens. High quality towels are in the bathrooms and in a closet on the upstairs landing.

Outside on the front porch there is a porch swing. There is a small flagstone patio with an iron table and two chairs near the porch. In the backyard there is a bbq grill and chair, rustic picnic table and benches. On a sunken concrete patio at the back of the xeriscaped yard there are two iron chairs for comfy reading or relaxing.

There is parking for two cars on the driveway and possibly one to two cars on the street in front of the house.

Across the street is a small grassy park with a picnic table.

Pikes Peak can be seen from the house (filtered views), especially from the top floor.

We are located on the east side of the Springs, about 3 miles east of Powers Boulevard near the intersection of Highway 24 and Constitution.

We are about three miles from all the restaurants and shopping you could need. And, according to Mapquest we are the following distances and times from major attractions (times may vary based on traffic): 9 miles/13 mins to the Olympic Training Center; 10 miles/15 mins to downtown; 13 miles/20 mins to Focus on the Family; 16 miles/22 mins to The Broadmoor; 16 miles/22 mins to Old Colorado City; 15 miles/26 mins to Garden of the Gods; 19 miles/26 mins to Manitou Springs; 18 miles/27 mins to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo; 21 miles/29 mins to the Air Force Academy; 23 miles/31 mins to Cascade where the highway to the top of Pikes Peak begins.

About Bev & Ron Bynum

We are a pastor and former journalist (who has more recently been a caregiver to her parents for several years.) Ron grew up in St. Louis and Bev grew up in Southern California. We both lived in the Kansas City area for many years, but knew we had found our longtime home when we moved to beautiful, sunny Colorado Springs. We love to travel and we have rented many homes through vrbo. We know how nice it can be to come back each night to a comfy, nicely-appointed house while on vacation.

Bev & Ron Bynum purchased this house in 2005

Why Bev & Ron Bynum chose South Central

It is so much nicer and homier than a hotel room!

Charming home in a very quiet neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

Perfect size home for our visit to Colorado Springs. Everything one would need was included and no detail was spared to create an inviting stay. Everyone in our party had a fantastic time, including the game area in the garage, comfortable beds & movie selection. We highly recommend this home and would would definitely stay again.

Wonderful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This home was a pleasant surprise. It looks just like the pictures and is extremely clean and cozy!

My daughter and I plus her children stayed here during another daughter's wedding.

My other family members had a bright clean home to come and visit us in instead of a small crowded hotel.

It is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans as well a an outside grill for cooking! That was great for us and it helped us stay on budget by being able to cook at the home.

Everything is easy and ready. The owners are very nice and accommodating.

I will be back in summer and I hope to get to stay here again!

Comfortable, clean and convenient

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights in this comfortable home. It was spotlessly clean and the location was convenient for visiting nearby family. The beds were comfy and the towels were of good quality. Ron and Bev obviously have paid a lot of attention to detail and it made the experience enjoyable. We hope to be able to return for future family visits.

Loved the place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for our Christmas vacations for the fist time. As soon as we walked in, we noticed everything clean and organized. We love the fact that there were movies to choose from for the dvd player and my kids enjoyed the pingpong table in the garage. We cooked alot at home instead of eating out since the weather for us was very cold, we are from southern Texas, and loved that there was things such as oil, salt, pepper and spices already there (good thing because we didnt even think about that when we went grocery shopping that night of our arrival). The owners were very nice people who seemed concern of our well being. I received a phone call upon our check in and another about 2 days after just to check if we needed anything. The location of the home was good for us, close enough for all the main tourist attractions (25-35min away) yet far enough from the main city traffic. We also liked that there were lots of hangers in the closets (and learned that there were more in the garage in a basket). The only thing i might suggest is maybe having a coat rack (we had to hang all our jackets on the bank of the dining room chairs since we were using them everyday). Other than that, eventing was great! Thank you so much for everything!
