Overview

About the property

Three bedroom, 2.5 bath, in a nice neighborhood close to restaurants & shopping

If late fall and winter getaways to beautiful Colorado Springs are on your agenda, you're in luck and we would love to help you book such a getaway in our vacation home!

Our home is a 2-story, 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath property with an open floor plan on the first level that includes the living room, dining room and kitchen in one space.

There is a large, 48' flat-screen TV in the living room and the house is supplied with satellite TV and Wi-fi. We have central air conditioning, which many Colorado Springs properties do not have because of the temperate weather. But it's nice to have it when you need it. (The house also has central heat.)

The kitchen has every amenity we hope you will need. It has been furnished with three sets of dishes, glasses and goblets, two sets of silverware, coffeemaker, four-slice toaster, blender and much more.

The dining room table seats six, but there are three additional stools at the breakfast bar. Tablecloths are in the front entry closet. A high chair and pack 'n play are available on request.

Also on the first level is a half-bath and laundry room with washer and dryer. The leather hide-a-bed couch in the living room folds out to a double bed.

Attached to the first level is a two-car garage that has been set up as a game room with ping-pong table, 2 foosball tables, card table and chairs. The garage/game room adds additional square footage to the 1350 square foot house.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom, which has a 32' flat-screen television, has a queen bed and small attached bathroom with a combination shower/tub. A second bathroom with a combination shower/tub is located off the landing. Two additional bedrooms complete the upstairs. One of those bedrooms has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. Each bedroom has drawer storage and closet space with hangers for your clothes. All three bedrooms have been furnished with high quality mattresses and linens. High quality towels are in the bathrooms and in a closet on the upstairs landing.

Outside on the front porch there is a porch swing. There is a small flagstone patio with an iron table and two chairs near the porch. In the backyard there is a bbq grill, chairs, rustic picnic table and benches.

There is parking for two cars on the driveway and possibly one to two cars on the street in front of the house. Across the street is a small grassy park with a picnic table.

Pikes Peak can be seen from the house (filtered views), especially from the top floor.

We are located on the east side of the Springs, about 3 miles east of Powers Boulevard near the intersection of Highway 24 and Constitution.

We are one mile from a huge new King Soopers grocery and retail store and center, and about three miles from all the other restaurants and shopping you could need. And, according to Mapquest we are the following distances and times from major attractions (times may vary based on traffic): 9 miles/13 mins to the Olympic Training Center; 10 miles/15 mins to downtown; 13 miles/20 mins to Focus on the Family; 16 miles/22 mins to The Broadmoor; 16 miles/22 mins to Old Colorado City; 15 miles/26 mins to Garden of the Gods; 19 miles/26 mins to Manitou Springs; 18 miles/27 mins to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo; 21 miles/29 mins to the Air Force Academy; 23 miles/31 mins to Cascade where the highway to the top of Pikes Peak begins.

About Bev & Ron Bynum

We are a pastor and former journalist (who has more recently been a caregiver to her parents.) Ron grew up in St. Louis and Bev grew up in Southern California. We both lived in the Kansas City area for many years, but knew we had found our longtime home when we moved to beautiful, sunny Colorado Springs. We love to travel and we have rented many homes through vrbo. We know how nice it can be to come back each night to a comfy, nicely-appointed house while on vacation.

Bev & Ron Bynum purchased this house in 2005

Why Bev & Ron Bynum chose Colorado Springs

It is so much nicer and homier than a hotel room!

Perfect home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We could not imagine what our long weekend away from home would have been like with 3 kids jammed in a hotel room. The house gave everyone, plus grandparents, room to spread out. The accommodations of the home were fantastic. Anything that we could have possibly needed was available! The house was clean and perfectly located for our mini getaway! We will return and use this rental again!!

Spacious and comfortable introduction to Colorado Springs

  • 5 of 5

We were in Colorado Springs to tour the Air Force Academy with our grandson and his parents. There was plenty of room for the five of us. Everything was in good condition and clean. The appliances all worked as designed and it was easy to figure out how to operate them. (Not so with our rental car, but that is the subject of another review.) The unit was well stocked with dishes, pans, utensils, etc. all in good condition. The TV worked without going through 15 steps and multiple remotes. The master bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and plenty of places for our belongings. The other bedrooms were smaller, but perfectly comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, with little traffic giving us plenty of room to walk and get a little exercise.

We were located off U. S. 24. This route contains a by-pass around the center of town making it easy to get to I-25, Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, Broadmoor Hotel, Pike's Peak train, etc. The airport is no more than 15 minutes away and it was a 20 minute straight shot to downtown via Platte Ave.

We enjoyed our stay and recommend this property to others coming to Colorado Springs.

Clean, roomy, great neighborhood, everything needed was there.

  • 5 of 5

I think we took advantage of everything this house offered except the washer and dryer. We grilled one night for 9 family members, and served 11 family members another night. Really helped to have the extra dishes, glassware and especially the extra flatware. The linens were extra nice, towels thick and sheets smooth. We slept 6 there. It was plenty roomy. The half bath and game room made it very easy for entertaining.

My daughter walked into the kitchen, turned and said , Now this is a kitchen! ( We've stayed in other rentals, not as nice) Loved the entry. Everyone staying had a "key". Owners were great to work with when I had an issue that was totally my fault. We had no complaints the whole time. Even provided a safe step ladder for us short folks to reach the upper cabinets. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.
