About the property

Newly Renovated 1910 Farmhouse With 4 Bedrooms And 3 Bathrooms.

Come stay a while with us in this newly renovated 1910 farmhouse which has all of your modern amenities. The original hardwood floors and bead board walls and ceilings, and wood-burning fireplaces have been preserved. We offer you four air-conditioned bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The parlor has the capability of extra sleeping arrangements which gives total accommodations for 10 guests. Linens are provided. The reclaimed dining room table seats 10 - 12 comfortably.

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking pleasure and for family dining. Guests provide their own meals. We can recommend places to eat and a chef or cook is available if desired. Food shopping and housekeeping services are available. Outdoor charcoal grill available.

The parlor with its piano, books and games is a great place to relax. The living room has a TV with WIFI.

The property was part of the largest dairy farm in Stokes County mid 1900. While the front porch has views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the back porch overlooks many out-buildings, including the once occupied care-takers cabin, the milk house, smoke house, old barn, workshop and firepit.

The private property is on the main roadway for easy access to Hanging Rock State Park, voted number one state park in NC in 2012. At the park, activities include hiking, mountain climbing, waterfalls and lake swimming. The beautiful Dan River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing and fly-fishing. Carolina Zip Lines is closeby along with an international Tai Chi center which offers lessons and horse-back riding. Several golf courses are within 30 minutes of Newberry Manor. Mount Airy, NC (Mayberry) and Pilot Mountain (Mt. Pilot), are tourist favorites within 20 minutes. Winston-Salem, the ‘City of the Arts’ is 40 minutes, which offers shopping, dining, symphony and other cultural affairs.

Our vacation rental is a non-smoking. Smoking allowed outside.

If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in a rural setting for your corporate or spiritual retreat, wedding, reunion or simply a vacation get-away, we invite you to stay at Newberry Manor.

Beautiful location, tucked away from everything

We had a small retreat here for a group of film photographers and it was perfect. The house is gorgeous inside and the owners were so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely come back here again!

Owner's Response: Brent and his group were very considerate guests. After meeting them on Saturday afternoon, they were on their own. They respected the house and grounds and everything was left in tiptop shape. I really hope they choose Newberry Manor again soon for their photographers retreat. BTW, I now have professional photos of the rental property. Cool beans!!

Owner's Response: Anthony and his family were the ideal guests. Even though their stay was for a week, they explored and made themselves very well acquainted with the area and the logistics of living in a rural area. The home was left in very good and tidy condition. Can't wait for them to return.

This home was definitely, the most down home house we have stayed in. The decor was so eclectic farmhouse cool! We didn't wanna leave, our family will be back very soon, we're gonna make this a yearly fall visit! The mountain views and air was amazing. Thanks Bettye, we will see you again.

Charming, comfortable house in a serene setting!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in this lovely, restored farmhouse. We had a great time buying produce at the local fruit-and-vegetable stands, and cooking in the large, well-equipped kitchen. When we weren't hiking in nearby Hanging Rock State Park, we enjoyed sitting on the back porch, watching the hummingbirds fight over the lovely flowers that Bettye and Stan have planted near the charming, historic outbuildings. The house is a great place to rest up - the beds are extremely comfortable, with high-quality bedding, and very quiet. We will definitely visit again, and we have already recommended this property to our friends.
