Riverside Retreat , Waterfront Getaway on the Dan River, Mt.Airy, Pilot Mountain

Cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath newly remodeled home located on the Dan River in the town of Westfield. The home is perfect for a relaxing getaway and great for the outdoor enthusiast. River views and sounds from house with steps that lead down to waterfront where you can relax by fire pit, launch your tube or kayak, fish, hang out in the hammock or take a dip in the river.
Some amenities of the home include a game room with foosball table, dartboard, board games, cornhole boards and bags, smart TV's, fire pit, charcoal grill, dishes and cookware, keurig coffee maker, and wifi.
If you want to get out and explore there is lots to do all within a 30 minute drive. Pilot Mountain state park or hanging rock state park are perfect for a hike or picnic. Take an adventure to the Carolina Ziplines Canopy Tour. Visit the local Brewery or one of the many local wineries. Take a scenic 15 minute drive to Stuart Virginia to restaurants, grocery stores and a nostalgic downtown area.
There is one queen bed and one full bed. You will be provided with 1 starter log for the fire pit, rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, travel size toiletries, hand and dish soap. No pets.

Kewl place to stay along the Dan River!...

This place is a great retreat for small families, with a nice private place to swim at the Dan River just down the hill. It's also in a good location for Hanging Rock State Park.

Really Beautiful

We had a great 4 day stay, we love to cook - the kitchen is amazing and the ride to Stuart and Mt Aire was a nice ride through the hills. would definitely stay there again.

This is a great place to stay. It’s remote but easy to get to everything you want to do. The house is decorated very nicely. The yard is beautifully manicured. The area down by the river is just a great place to hang out. Make sure you have firewood because you’ll want to hang out by the fire with the river next to you. Playing in the river is so much fun. Make sure you bring your river shoes, a bathing suit and a towel . I wish the place had a washer and dryer, but the place has so many other things to offer. Would definitely stay here again.

Quiet peaceful location

The overall experience was awesome. The house was very clean and well organized with plenty of things to do. We really enjoyed walking down to the riverside and experiencing the tranquility of the river. We would absolutely return, but in warmer weather, to try tubing and fishing.

Relaxing and beautiful!

The River Retreat was absolutely beautiful! The beds were comfortable and it is beautifully decorated. We were close enough to Mayberry to visit one day and we spent most of the other day sitting in the river. It was so peaceful and relaxing. It was a great couples weekend getaway. We will definitely be back!

Just what we were looking for! Peaceful and quiet. Beautiful river running by the house. We had a fire going every night and the sky was filled with stars. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook with.

Hiking Adventure

The house was spotlessly clean. The location was centrally located for our hiking trips. We particularly enjoyed returning home each afternoon to spend time by the river and the firepit while the boys fished in the river. If you like hiking and waterfalls, its 25 minutes to either Pilot Mountain or Hanging Rock State Park.

Perfect little hideaway

This property was beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The décor of the property was gorgeous and the owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with. My only complaint was the political sign down by the river. We were unable to fully enjoy the beauty of the river with this sign reminding us of the owners political views.

Nicely refurbished small house

The house is small but nicely decorated. It has access to the Dan River, which is a major highlight in warm weather. Downsides : (1) It is on a busy road and there is some car noise, especially in the bedroom with the full bed and (2) no sheets or towels. It was a real pain having to travel with sheets and towels and having to make the beds when I arrived.

Perfect Little Getaway

Very clean and inviting. We chose this spot so we'd be close to hiking and so my husband could fly fish. We did a nice little hike on Pilot Mountain and then spent a couple hours walking around Mt. Airy and checking out the Andy Griffith museum. Unfortunately the weather didn't fully cooperate but the house was nice and cozy and comfortable to relax in. While the weather was nice I sat down in the chairs and watched my husband fish, beautiful spot! Thank you!

Beautiful river sounds

The house has been beautifully remodeled. The owners have put in a lot of effort at the river frontage, and the river is beautiful and accessible. I especially liked the porch swing on the river. Most of all I liked sitting on the house porch and hearing the river. The owner was helpful and responded quickly. When we decided to take a longer river trip, he promptly responded with his thoughts and suggestions.

Great Stay

Stay was great. Owner was very timely in communications leading up to the stay and during the stay. We did not end up tubing but the owner was kind enough to have tubes ready for us. We did not use them as my 4 year old would probably not sit still long enough for the ride. We hiked to Hanging Rock and several water falls in the area. Made s'mores and hung out down by the river. Very quiet area and if you need groceries like we did, as we always forget something, Stuart, VA is only about 20 mins away. Great weekend. Thank you.

A perfect getaway

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay! The home was perfect. We enjoyed the local spots and got recommendations every where we went. We hiked Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock, we enjoyed Midsummer Brewery, Luna's, and loved the General Store Grill. We had ice cream from the homemade shop near the hospital, wine at Jolo, took in a high school football game and a Wake Foreat game. The home was convenient to so many things, and yet private and quiet despite the seemingly big road it is on. I would absolutely recommend this home and would come back again. As with all vacations now, the prie per night oes not include the fees, so be aware, our total early doubled once all was calculated. Just the way of things, but budget accordingly.

Very Cute House

This is an adorable property! Very well decorated and stocked. The location on the river was nice, but it's also very close to the road at the bottom of a hill, so cars came flying by. We were there for work and during a hurricane, so unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor space. But the inside was cozy!
