Perfect for our large group with kids
We are three families with kids vacationing together on the Cape for the past few summers. This was our favorite house yet and is a top contender for our vacation next year. We had a wonderful week!
Things we loved: The playroom in the basement kept our kids occupied AND out of our hair. From the top 2 floors (living room and kitchen), we could barely hear them - which was perfect! So many toys - thank you, thank you!
We had many perfect meals on the various porches - sunsets are just lovely. Well equipped kitchen and large dining table. Comfortable living room on the top floor with gorgeous view. Great room darkening shades covering the windows in the bedrooms. The house is just a minute's ride from the bike path, making many local restaurants accessible by bike - we loved riding our bikes for ice cream in the evening.
Tips for other renters: If you are traveling with crawling babies/toddlers, the five sets of stairs are somewhat treacherous. We had a 20 month old and, while he was fine going up and down on his bottom, it did give us a few mild heart attacks. If we were traveling with crawling babies, we might choose a house with fewer stairs - though the house does provide a few baby gates!
Also of note: The house is on a hill, so if you plan on bike riding a lot with small children, it's good to know that there is a large hill that the kids will have to ride up and down in order to use the bike trail. It's do-able but might be challenging for newer bike riders.
Loved our week in Brewster and this house was a huge reason why! Thank you for a wonderful vacation :)
We had a wonderful time here. The top room is like being in a tree house and the toy room was just perfect for our 3 year old grandson. Kitchen had everything we wanted and Ron was super helpful in getting the dryer started for us. Overall wonderful experience. The area is lovely. The pond is beautiful. The bike trail is picturesque. Can't recommend highly enough.
Our book club has stayed at this house for a weekend two years in a row and it has been wonderful. I can't say enough about the house and how spacious and welcoming it is. It is close to the beach and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping to enjoy.
Great for a family reunion
We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion at the house. It is a "stones throw" to the Cape Cod Rail Trail bike path which is such a wonderful way to explore the cape. The beach is minutes away by bike or car. The house is very comfortable with lots of balconies and corners for people to spend quiet time alone as well as great open spaces for all of us to get together. The house worked well for a family with small children as well as older adults. Sitting on the deck watching the sunset was an almost nightly ritual. We could ride our bikes to the local Cape Cod Baseball League games and stop at any number of local restaurants on our way home. Ron was very attentive to our requests. A wonderful place for a Cape vacation.
Great lodging for a large family's vacation
Our family group, eleven strong, found this large, well-appointed home an excellent hub for our vacation activities. Located near the Brewster beaches, and overlooking Cape Cod Bay, it is very handy to most any activity a vacationer might want. The shops in Orleans are a short hop away, and the bike trail is very close by. Guests can enjoy Blueberry Pond, just down the hill, as well. Our family liked the arrangement of rooms- the younger kids had the middle level bedrooms, and the parents had some privacy on another floor. We especially liked the upper level relaxing room with its fabulous"crows nest" views overlooking the neighborhood, Ocean Edge resort, the bay, and terrific sunsets! Lots of decks for everyone to spread out, too. It was a pleasure dealing with Ron: he checked with us a couple of times to see that we were enjoying our stay.
Perfect Reunion Home!
We had such an amazing time at this home in Brewster! Ron was incredibly friendly and helpful leading up to our visit as well as while we were there. We had folks coming from around the country for a small college reunion with 5 couples as well as a toddler. It was the perfect space! Plenty of room to hang out together in the living room, eat together in dining space as well as out on the patio. With a bunch of runners it was great to be just a few minutes from the Cape Cod Rail Trail. And it's just a few minute drive to the beach. It was the perfect space for us, and we had a great time enjoying this beautiful space!
Association access to nearby Blueberry pond. Just two-tenths of a mile to Cape Cod bike trail and a less than a mile and half drive to Brewster beaches.
